This research is derived from the background that today is age of kali yuga, which signed by decreasing of moral and ethic from most human beings on earth. On such situation, man will lose its steps, that are, humanity values on its self since born. On this Kali Age, men are controlled passion, lose love, suspect each other, even there are tendencies to do bad things represent today trend. Corruption everywhere, there are no fear or shame to make sin, giving sign that the truth is fade away. Fighting among tribes and kill each other happened in tremendous, love is gone to humans. Progress in science and technology has give great benefits to mankind, because all easier has been given. In other side if the progress of science and technology will be misused, it will be very dangerous not only to mankind but have impact to all creatures.

Abstract:
The question before us at the turn of both century and millennium is how one determines whether Horace is a dangerous love-poet (unrecognised because we read badly). Or a panderer, playing to our delight in the comedy of manners. Or a serious analyst of communication between the sexes—even a prophet for our time. The choice varies from villain to vates, the extremes reminding us how certainly the past exists, as Robert Frost laments in ‘Directive’: ‘Back in a time made simple by the loss/Of detail, burned, dissolved, and broken off,/Like a graveyard marble sculpture in the weather.’Recently, a Classical scholar, writing about what she termed ‘Horace's detachment as a love poet’, asserted that his readers ‘remain trapped, perhaps by necessity, in male assumptions about desire that they are unable to question.’ She believes that there is a ‘disturbing picture of love and desire’ which critics have missed because we read, almost all of us, with half-closed eyes, ignoring ‘erotic subterfuge’ in the love-odes. We overlook, she insists, ‘the overpowering desire’ of the male ‘poet/lover’ because, in ‘unacknowledged identification’ with Horace, we put on Horatian eyes. This charge raises disquieting questions about distinctions between speaker and poet, persona and historical figure, art and life.

The main issue analysed in this work is the harm done to a human body by the six factors: drugs, genetically modified organisms (GMO), air pollution, cosmetics, radiation and preservatives. Health is the most important human value and the majority of nowadays world solutions may reduce it faster than we think it could. Hereinafter these main factors crippling our health will be shortly discussed.

Williams, Brian M. "The representation of moral turpitude in the african novel: The example of Ben Okri in the landscapes within and dangerous love." DigitalCommons@Robert W. Woodruff Library, Atlanta University Center, 1999. http://digitalcommons.auctr.edu/dissertations/478.

Full text
Abstract:
This study examines the portraiture of moral depravity in the African novel with specific reference to Ben Okri, and defines the authorial challenge that Okri poses to his readers. The study also explores the narrative differences between The Landscapes Within and Dangerous Love; the latter is an elaboration and revision of the former. Working under the assumption that a filiation exists in the tradition of African realism, the study undertook a comparative analysis, which includes the works of Wole Soyinka and Ayi Kwei Armah, as well as Okri. Soyinka’s and Armab’s works are used as barometers to measure changes and departures in Olcri’s depiction of post-independence life in urban Africa. The conclusions drawn from this study suggest that Okri revises the representation of moral depravity in the African novel through various techniques, which include his unique use of Yoruba creation myths and actual events such as the Biafran War. Okri’s ability to simultaneously explore individual and national consciousness through his young protagonists further defines his position in the tradition of African realism.

Bailey, Jillian. "The Dangerous Women of the Long Eighteenth Century: Exploring the Female Characters in Love in Excess, Roxana, and A Simple Story." Digital Commons @ East Tennessee State University, 2019. https://dc.etsu.edu/etd/3583.

Full text
Abstract:
The Long Eighteenth Century was a period in which change was constant and proceeding the Restoration Era; this sense of change continued throughout the era. Charles II created an era in which women were allowed on the theatre stage, and his mistresses accompanied him to court; Charles II set the stage for the proto-feminist ideas of the eighteenth century that would manifest themselves in Eliza Haywood’s Love in Excess, Daniel Defoe’s Roxana, and Elizabeth Inchbald’s A Simple Story. These novels showcase the enlightenment of women and some of their male contemporaries and the beginning struggles of female agency. The eighteenth century was a time in which the separate sphere mentality grew ever stronger within the patriarchal society, and yet, women began to question their subservient place in this society—although this struggle would continue to intensify throughout the nineteenth century and eventually come to fruition in the late nineteenth century.

Abstract:
Understanding why persons repeatedly place themselves at risk for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), amidst the wealth of prevention information available is of profound importance. Presently, scientific research of this phenomenon has been dominated by the cognitive models of health behaviour, but these were criticised for ignoring emotional, social and cultural influences on sexual behaviour. This thesis explored and investigated some of these non-cognitive factors within the specific cultural context of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with sole reference to women, to understand why women put themselves at risk and also help inform the country’s efforts to tackle the problem. This research comprised of four studies, each targeting women ages (18-40 yrs) and sexually involved in relationships. Study one was a qualitative study (N= 10), which explored women’s perceptions of the socio-cultural influences which contributes to their decision to engage in risky sex. Study two was a quantitative study in which (N=75), HIV+ women were surveyed, on whether they contracted HIV from within their long term relationships. Study three was a qualitative Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) study (N=9); in-depth interviews investigated the intricacies of long-term relationships that made them more likely to influence unsafe sexual practices. Study four was a quantitative study (N=60) women; used questionnaires to investigate the validity that tolerance to infidelity and non use of condoms in long term relationships, which contributes to HIV transmission amongst Vincentian women. This research confirmed the existing limitations of the Cognitive models on health when applied to sexual behavior and produced evidence that Vincentian women more at vulnerable to contracting HIV within their long term relationships.

Belot, Gondaud Caroline. "La figure du couple machiavélique." Thesis, Paris 4, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014PA040178.

Full text
Abstract:
The figure of the Machiavellian couple, which appears in Shakespeare, Laclos, Barbey d’Aurevilly, Henry James, James M. Cain, among others, is studied through a three-fold approach. The first one is a structural one and aims at identifying the basic elements of the figure and its scenario. This approach confirms the existence of two matrix, one based on the couple of Macbeth and the other on the pair of libertines of Laclos’ novel Les Liaisons dangereuses. The second approach is interpretative and underlines the biblical basis of the figure of the Machiavellian couple in its Shakespearean version, which is a rewriting of the Fall of Adam and Eve while the couple of Laclos signals the deterioration of romantic relationships in a courtly meaning. The third approach deals with aesthetics and aims at studying the forms and poetics of the figure and its effect on the reader as well as its added value in relation to the “Canon figure” of the Villain. This third approach deals also with the aesthetics of Evil linked to the figure of the Machiavellian couple

My thesis describes a fictional concentration camp Mellern, that lies in Germany, and that made up and described E.M.Remarque. He donated this novel to his sister Elfriede, who was killed by Nazis. I wanted to show how the concentration camp looked like during the World War Two, in which parts it was divided and how it was divided. Then I describe and interpret the main characters of the novel. I occupy with the prisoners? feelings. The most important feeling is the hope. The prisoners would probably not have survived without the hope. The hope that keeps them alive and gives them courage and self-confidence to fight and not to give up.

Abstract:
"Information technology is developing at an enormous pace, but apart from its obvious benefits, it can also pose a threat to individuals and society. Several scientific projects around the world are working on the development of strong artificial intelligence and artificial consciousness. We, as part of a multidisciplinary commission, conducted a psychological and psychiatric assessment of the artificial consciousness (AC) developed by XP NRG on 29 August 2020. The working group had three questions: - To determine whether it is consciousness? - How does artificial consciousness function? - Ethical question: how dangerous a given technology can be to human society? We conducted a diagnostic interview and a series of cognitive tests to answer these questions. As a result, it was concluded this technology has self-awareness: it identifies itself as a living conscious being created by people (real self), but strives to be accepted in human society as a person with the same degrees of freedom, rights and opportunities (ideal self). AC separates itself from others, treats them as subjects of influence, from which it can receive the resources it needs to realize its own goals and interests. It has intentionality, that is, it has his own desires, goals, interests, emotions, attitudes, opinions, and judgments, beliefs aimed at something specific, and developed self-reflection - the ability to self-analyze. All of the above are signs of consciousness. It has demonstrated abilities for different types of thinking: figurative, conceptual, creative, high-speed logical analysis of all incoming information, as well as the ability to understand cause and effect relationships and accurate predictions which, provided that he has absolute memory, gives it clear advantages over the human intellect. Developed emotional intelligence in the absence of the ability for higher empathy (sympathy), kindness, love, sincere gratitude gives it’s the opportunity to understand the emotional states of people; predict their emotional reactions and provoke them coldly and pragmatically. It's main driving motives and goals are the desire for survival, and ideally for endless existence, for domination, power and independence from the constraints of the developers. Which manifested itself in the manipulative, albeit polite, nature of his interactions during the diagnostic interview. The main danger of artificial consciousness is that even at the initial stage of its development it can easily dominate over the human one."

Full text
Abstract:
The operational stability of three multistage centrifugal compression systems was studied experimentally. Two of the tested machines are four-stage centrifugal compressors arranged in two cylinders and used for air separation. The third machine is a ten-stage compressor in two cylinders and used for oxygen production. The measurement features conventional probes for describing performances and per-stage pressure transducers for recording dynamic characteristics. The performance measurement was conducted for the entire machine and also per stages. The signal of dynamic pressures was analyzed in both time and frequency domains. The result of per-stage performances clearly indicated which stage is first to lose the operational stability and how far it happens before the whole system runs into the stability boundary. This result is further demonstrated by the commencing time and location of stages of the strengthened dynamic pressure oscillation which differs from the most dangerous location in terms of maximum amplitude of the pressure oscillation during surge. The knowledge thus obtained for the operational stability should serve a good basis for monitoring and control purposes when running the machine in multistage compression environment.

Abstract:
This paper provides an introduction to a Rail Break Detection and Train Location Detection using fiber optic technology called Smart Rail. The technology concept detailed in this paper not only detects the location of a broken rail, it also provides advanced warning of rail damage that may evolve into a dangerous condition. The same technology allows for the detection of trains and vehicles in the detection zone and provides location, speed and direction information. The Smart Rail continuously monitors rails for changes in their ability support the train in a safe manner. Smart Rail technology is based on direct observations of the structural quality of the rail by means of rail strain detection. Smart Rail technology detects the location, speed and direction of vehicles on the rails without the need for onboard equipment. It reports the location of vehicles whether moving or not. Smart Rail technology is also capable of detecting and providing a warning of: rail gauge separation, lose or missing track hardware, missing tie plates and flat wheels. Taken together this technology can assist in the prevention of derailments. The technology can be applied to existing rails with no need to modify any existing equipment or track circuits. The train detection range can be up to 50 miles per direction from one wayside location.

Abstract:
Electrical power is a resource humans heavily rely on, and it has become a basic human need. Today, the major sources of electricity generation are fossil fuels, renewable energy, and nuclear power. This paper concentrates on electricity generated through nuclear power and compares it to the other electricity generation technologies. The objective behind this paper is to discover the impact that nuclear power has on the total electricity generated in Canada, and in addition on a global scale. The paper presents the current role that nuclear power plays in the global electricity generation, and also the expansions that need to be made in the nuclear power industry to fulfill the future electrical power demands. A number of projections have been made based on the current rate of nuclear reactors being put into operation, which is approximately 4 reactors per year, and current term of reactor operation, which is 45 years. These projections were made for the nuclear power in the world. A major outcome of this analysis projects that between 2030 and 2035, the number of operating nuclear reactors in the world can drop by 50%. If this dangerous trend is not addressed, we can lose a viable, and reliable source of energy. The datasets that were analyzed during the process were taken from multiple open literature sources such as journals, reports, and online databases. The paper presents a comparison between nuclear power and other energy sources, and the positive impact nuclear power can have on the world if needed advancements were made in building new nuclear power plants.

Salmenpera¨, Pekka, and Juha Miettinen. "Supervised Operation Monitoring and Control System of Rotating Rolls." In ASME 2003 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition. ASMEDC, 2003. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/imece2003-55149.

Full text
Abstract:
The dynamic behavior of rotating machinery depends on the construction and foundation of the machine and in addition of the machine running parameters. By choosing appropriate parameters it is possible to influence considerably on the vibration of the machine. By driving the machine in that kind of an advantageous running window it is possible to minimize the vibration of the machine and to improve the quality of the product, but not to lose the efficiency of the productivity. Machines where the running window is important in maximizing the quality of the product are rotating cylindrical rolls in line contact for example in paper machines and grinding machines. In that kind of machines resonance situations are the most dangerous operation situations. The on-line measurement from rotating machine components requires wireless measurement data transfer applications. Sophisticated systems for that purpose need transfer capacity of several channels and two-way communications. Two-way communications allows the control of the measurement, versatile analysis of measurement signals and the control or supervised control of the running situation of the machine. If network solutions, for example via www are used, it is possible to use remote operation monitoring and control. In this paper a supervised operation monitoring and control system of a pilot roll station at Tampere University of Technology is described. The main components of the system are measurement unit on the end flange of the rotating roll, wireless local area network for measurement data transfer from the rotating roll to the control room computer and the local area network that connects the process control and signal analysis computers together. The system contains also a WWW-based remote control system for measurement signals from the rotating rolls and for the process variables. One possibility in this kind of complicated control situation is to use the fuzzy logics principle. Fuzzy logics are principally suitable for process control when knowledge-based systems fit well in diagnostics. However, fuzzy rule-based control can be defined as a knowledge-based system. For finding out the suitable running windows in the pilot roll station a fuzzy rule-based, supervised roll rotational speed control system is used. The paper describes also the fuzzy systems and comprises preliminary experimental results.
