Das Objekt der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Vögelnamen, die in den Zoologie– und Volkswerken von J. Elisonas (1889 – 1946) gefunden wurden, aber auch Namen der Vögelunterklassen, Gruppen, Scharen, Familien, Unferfamilien und Arten. In der Arbeit werden insgesamt 862 Titel, ihre Varianten sowie Synonyme (von denen sind 10 Vögelunterklassen, 4 Gruppen, 36 Scharen, 73 Familien und Unterfamilien und 739 Artennamen) analysiert. Die Namen der Vögel wurden aus den zoologischen Lekrbüchern von J. Elisonas, aus dem Wörterbuch, aus den Volkswerken und Artikeln, die in verschiedenen Zeitschriften der damaligen Zeit veröffentlicht wurden.
Das Hauptziel dieser Arbeit ist die Forschung der Bestandteile von gesammelten Vögelnamen. Das Ziel wird mit Hiefe der folgenden Aufgaben erreicht:
1. Es wird geprüft, ob die von J. Elisonas benutzten lateinischen und litauischen Vögelnamen der Regeln des „Internationalen zoologischen Kodex der Nomenklatur” nicht widersprechen.
2. Es wird besprochen, wie die Tendenz des Gebrauchs der Vögelnamen und ihrer Arten im Litauischen ist. Die in den Literaturquellen angegebenen Varianten und Synonyme werden erörtet.
3. Es wird analysiert, wie die aus einem Wort bestehenden Vögelnamen sowie wie die Attribute der Arten gebildet werden. Ihre semantischen Gruppen werden besprochen.
4. Es wird geprüft, welches Verhältnis zwischen den aus einem Wort bestehenden rein litauischen und fremden Vögelartenamen ist.

Milimetrinių bangų sritis yra perspektyvi daugelyje sričių, nuo kasdienio vartojimo įtaisų tokių, kaip telekomunikacijų tinklų įranga iki specifinių taikymų kariuomenėje, bei diagnostinėje medicinoje. Milimetrinių bangų imtuvuose dažniausiai naudojamas netiesinis elementas yra Šotkio (Schottky) diodas. Nors jo veikimo dažnių ruožas yra iki terahercų srities, tokie trūkumai kaip jautrio priklausomybė nuo temperatūros, neatsparumas elektrinėms perkrovoms, bei jo parametrų blogėjimas laikui bėgant verčia ieškoti naujų alternatyvų. Disertacijoje pristatomi dviejų tipų mikrobangų diodai, pagaminti naudojant įvairiatarpius GaAs/AlGaAs darinius. Puslaidininkinių darinių sluoksnių kokybė buvo eksperimentiškai įvertinta naudojant nuostoviosios fotoliuminescencijos ir laike koreliuoto fotonų skaičiavimo metodus. Aprašytas mikrobangų diodų gamybos procesas. Derivative synonyms of the names of places
Summary
Master‘s work object: derivative synonyms of the names of places, their rows formed from derivatives from the Dictionary of Modern Lithuanian published in 2000. Derivative synonyms of the names of places are the kind of synonyms which have the same root, different derivational affixes and very similar or identical lexical meaning (524 derivatives, 220 rows). The place is named according its things, qualities or actions.
The theme is relevant because derivative synonyms had not been explored in Lithuania so far.
In this work theoretical aspects of derivative synonyms are discussed on the basis of concreat material – derivative synonyms of the names of places: concept of derivative synonyms, the relation of variants of derivative synonyms and words, derivative synonyms and style. Also synonymical derivatives of the names of places are analysed (ways of derivation, means and various combinations, synonymical derivatives of different suffixes, inflections, prefixes and compound words).
The main purpose of this work is to show that there are semantically and stylistically similar or identical derivative synonyms in the category of derivation of the names of places.

Leksiniai sinonimai – skirtingai skambantys, tos pačios ar artimos reikšmės žodžiai, kurie skiriasi semantinėmis, emocinėmis, stilistinėmis ypatybėmis. Darybiniais sinonimais laikomi skirtingų darybos afiksų bendrašakniai dariniai, turintys tapačią arba artimą leksinę ir darybinę reikšmę. Į leksinių sinonimų eiles dažnai įeina ir darybinių sinonimų eilės. Antano Lyberio Sinonimų žodyne (2002) pateiktose leksinių sinonimų eilėse rastas 4471 daiktavardžių, būdvardžių, veiksmažodžių darinys, iš kurių sudarytos 1836 darybinių sinonimų eilės. Bendrašakniai dariniai, kaip ir leksiniai sinonimai, gali sutapti ar skirtis stilistinėmis ypatybėmis. Daugumas sinonimiškai santykiaujančių darinių yra artimos semantikos žodžiai. Analizuojant darybinius sinonimus leksinių sinonimų eilėse pastebėta, kad ne visi žodžiai, esantys Lietuvių kalbos žodyne ir Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos žodyne, yra įtraukti į A. Lyberio Sinonimų žodyną. Remiantis šių žodynų medžiaga, į Sinonimų žodyną siūloma įtraukti 800 žodžių ir pratęsti 82 leksinių sinonimų eiles. Iš į Sinonimų žodyną neįtrauktų darinių sudarytos 123 naujos darybinių sinonimų eilės: į 94 eilių sudėtį įeina Sinonimų žodyne fiksuotas darinys, 29 darybinių sinonimų eilės sudarytos vien iš naujų darinių. Sinonimų žodyne rasta žodžių, kurie nefiksuojami nei Lietuvių kalbos žodyne, nei Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos žodyne, todėl nėra aišku, kokiu kriterijumi remiantis jie buvo įtraukti į žodyną.Lexical synonyms are differently sounding words of the same or close meaning that are different by semantic, emotional or stylistic features. Derivative synonyms are structures of different affix with identical or close lexical and derivation meaning. Lexical synonyms rows often included derivative synonyms rows. Dictionary of Synonyms (Sinonimų žodynas, 2002) by Antanas Lyberis submitted lexical synonyms rows were found 4471 noun, adjective and verb derivatives, which were made 1836 derivative synonyms rows. Conjugate structures, as well as lexical synonyms, may be the same or vary by stylistic features. Most of the derivatives, having synonymous relationships, are close semantic words. Analysis of derivative synonyms in lexical synonym rows noted that not all the words in Lithuanian Language Dictionary (Lietuvių kalbos žodynas), Current Lithuanian Dictionary (Dabartinės lietuvių kalbos žodynas) are included in Dictionary of Synonyms by Antanas Lyberis. According to these dictionaries material, it is proposed to include 800 words extend 82 lexical synonym rows in Dictionary of Synonyms. Were made 123 new derivative synonym rows from the words that were not included into Dictionary of Synonyms: 94 rows containing fixed derivatives of Dictionary of Synonyms, 29 derivative synonym rows consisting entirely of new structures. As representações eróticas são o foco principal deste estudo. Mais especificamente, esta pesquisa tem por interesse a análise de representações eróticas que desafiem imagens patriarcais que advoguem a dominação e a hierarquia como atributos naturais das relações amorosas. Para tanto, este trabalho propõe uma investigação das obras "Calamus," de Walt Whitman, e "Twenty-One Love Poems," de Adrienne Rich, como uma maneira de interrogar as limitações do erotismo dito "mainstream." O corpus desta pesquisa é formado por obras de poetas e filósofos renomados como Platão, Octavio Paz e Georges Bataille - teóricos que discutiram extensivamente a questão do erótico - e por estudiosos de destaque nas áreas de feminismo, "gay and lesbian studies" e "queer studies", tais como Teresa de Lauretis, Ellen Greene, Catherine Belsey, Liz Yorke, Audre Lorde, Robert K. Martin, Jay Grossman e Greg Woods, entre outros. Este estudo demonstra que Whitman e Rich não apenas questionaram todo um sistema de representações eróticas patriarcais e excludentes, mas também propuseram uma estratégia política que é fruto de um erotismo desafiador e democrático.

In this work the alkylation of 2-ethylsulfanyl -5-methoxy-4(3H)-pyrimidinone with 4-substituted ω-bromoacetophenones, ethyl 2-bromoalkanoates and 1-bromomethyl-o-carborane was investigated. It was found that reaction of title compounds in the presence of potassium carbonate in boiling acetonitrile yielded O-alkylated derivatives with small amount of N3- and N1-alkylation products. The proportion of O- and N-alkylated products varied depending on the nature of substituent in the 4th position of benzene ring. Alkylation of title compound with ethyl bromoethanoate led to mixture of O-, N3- and N1 alkylated derivatives, while the reaction with ethyl 2-bromopropanoate yielded only O-alkylated isomer. 2-Substituted 4-pyrimidinols with nido-carborane at the side chain were synthesized. The structure of synthesized compounds was confirmed by the data of IR, UV and 1H NMR spectra.

Disertacijoje nagrinėjama, kaip padidinti susiaurintų spinduliuotės jutiklių jautrį. Taip pat disertacijoje siekiama ištirti mikrobangų spinduliuotės poveikį susiaurintiems puslaidininkiniams dariniams ir atskleisti stebimų efektų fizinę prigimtį bei nustatyti bandinių struktūros įtaką detektuojamo signalo dydžiui.
Darbe sprendžiami tokie pagrindiniai uždaviniai: tiriamos įvairialyčių susiaurintų puslaidininkinių darinių savybės, priklausančios nuo darinių sluoksnių kokybės ir puslaidininkinių medžiagų parametrų bei analizuojamos savybės, priklausančios nuo stipriai legiruoto puslaidininkinio sluoksnio laidumo, nuo skiriamojo sluoksnio storio ir nuo sklendės pobūdžio metalizacijos. Siekiant užsibrėžto tikslo, buvo gaminami ir tiriami susiaurinti skirtingi įvairialyčiai dariniai (AlGaAs/GaAs, AlGaAs/InGaAs/GaAs) ir n-GaAs dariniai.
Disertaciją sudaro penki skyriai, kurių paskutinis – rezultatų apibendrinimas.
Pirmajame (įvadiniame) skyriuje nagrinėjamas problemos aktualumas, formuluojamas darbo tikslas bei uždaviniai, aprašomas mokslinis darbo naujumas, pristatomi autoriaus pranešimai, disertacijos struktūra.
Antrasis skyrius skirtas literatūros apžvalgai. Jame apžvelgiami elektromagnetinės spinduliuotės detektavimo principai, aptariamos šiluminės ir bigradientinės elektrovaros susidarymo priežastys, AlGaAs/GaAs įvairialytė sandūra, selektyvusis legiravimas bei puslaidininkinių prietaisų fizikinės galimybės.

[toliau žr. visą tekstą]The thesis presents the investigation on how to increase the sensitivity of the narrowed sensors of radiation. Also the thesis also deals with the attempts to analyze the influence of the microwave radiation on to the narrowed semiconductor formations and to reveal the physical nature of the observed effects as well as to determine the influence of structure of the samples on the detected signal magnitude. The work solves the following major tasks: the characteristics of the narrowed semiconductor heterostructures depending on the quality of the modulation layers and on the parameters of the semiconductor materials as well as the characteristics, depending on the selectively doped structure, on the conductivity of the highly doped semiconductor layer, and on the thickness of the separating layer, and the type of metallization of the gate. In order to achieve the goal there were produced and investigated narrowed different heterostructures (AlGaAs/GaAs, AlGaAs/InGaAs/GaAs) and n-GaAs structures. The thesis consists of four chapters, the final one is the generalization of the results. Darius Milhaud a nourri son œuvre de poésie. À partir d'une conférence inédite, il a été possible de caractériser la façon dont le compositeur a intégré des univers poétiques variés. En comparant la démarche de Milhaud avec d'autres pratiques artistiques, l'étude porte d'abord sur les rencontres avec le Romantisme où ont été privilégiés Maurice de Guérin et son univers ainsi que des poètes féminins du début du XIX° siècle. Un accent particulier a été porté sur trois figures de "sœurs" d'écrivains du XIX° siècle : Lucile de Chateaubriand, Eugénie de Guérin et Christina Rossetti. Sans abandonner cette source d'inspiration, l'irruption de trois auteurs majeurs a bouleversé l'univers esthétique du musicien : Gide, Jammes et Claudel ont en effet contribué à renouveler ses moyens d'expression et à bouleverser les rapports entre le monde des sons et le monde des mots. Milhaud justifie la diversité des démarches suivies en revendiquant le droit pour sa création de suivre des "voies parallèles". C'est ici l'occasion d'apprécier la portée de la lecture de Rimbaud et de Mallarmé. Les amitiés jumelles de Léo Latil et Armand Lunel révèlent l'intimité d'une sensibilité propre aux jeunes gens formés avant la guerre de 1914. L'enracinement provençal et judéocontadin trouve dans les textes de ces deux condisciples aixois matière à développement. La blessure occasionnée par la mort de Léo Latil au combat lors de la première guerre mondiale laisse une trace profonde parfois simplement suggérée. Par ailleurs l'humanisme du compositeur est l'occasion de la rencontre avec Jean Cassou après la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. Cette collaboration prolonge les engagements de Milhaud pendant la période de l'Entre-Deux Guerres. Enfin l'amitié constante avec Jean Cocteau permet d'apprécier l'inventivité d'une œuvre qui ne s'est jamais contentée des solutions convenues et qui a eu le mérite d'expérimenter sans relâche.

I used light to transform a colloidal solution of spherical silver nanoparticles into larger triangular nanoparticles. The particle size and shape can be controlled by choosing the wavelength(s) of light used to drive the photochemical growth. These findings suggest a new way of thinking about growth of nanoparticles in solution and show the exciting possibility that light can be used as a major control parameter in metallic nanoparticle growth reactions. I have used different colour transparent filters (red, green, dark green, blue) in photoreactor and with different wavelength (three different red and one green) LED’s in my experiments. I monitor the evolution of the reaction at regular intervals by means of a commercial UV/vis spectrophotometer; the final products and some important intermediates are further characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM, 100 kV) and scaning electron microscopy (SEM). Particle size distribution was calculated using 100 or 200 particles from TEM pictures and using Image Tool software.

Steponas Darius ir Stasys Girėnas Lietuvoje yra priskiriami tautos herojų kategorijai. Pagrindu tam tapo vienas jų gyvenimo faktas – 1933 m. jie sėkmingai perskrido Atlanto vandenyną, tačiau nepasiekę Lietuvos tragiškai žuvo tuometinėje Vokietijos teritorijoje. Nuo tada buvo stengiamasi kuo akivaizdžiau įprasminti šį įvykį ir herojų asmenybes. Šiandieną, žvelgdami iš laiko perspektyvos, šį reiškinį drąsiai galime įvardinti asmenybių kultu.
Šiame tyrime kulto sąvoka traktuojama kaip perdėtas ko nors garbinimas, idealizavimas arba kam nors reiškiama didžiulė pagarba. Nacionalistine ideologija grįstose visuomenėse asmenų ar įvykių kultai atsiranda, ieškant tautinio idealo ir tuo pačiu siekiant formuoti (konstruoti) visuomenę. Istorinių asmenybių realūs ir „suklastoti” bruožai tampa medžiaga tautinio įvaizdžio kūrimui ir turi atlikti tam tikras socialines funkcijas – sutelkti, sustiprinti tautą, suteikti jėgų kovoti negandų laikotarpiais ir siekti didybės sėkmės laikais.
Darbe analizuojamos kulto ištakos, aktyvumas ir raida. Identifikuojamos kulto socialinės funkcijos bei materialiosios ir nematerialiosios kulto išraiškos. Pastarosios analizuojamos semantiniu aspektu.
Išanalizavus šaltinius ir literatūrą galima teigti, kad S. Dariaus ir S. Girėno kultas pradėtas kurti iškart po lakūnų žūties. Didžiausias kulto aktyvumas ir puoselėjimas pastebimas tarpukario metais ir po 1990 m. Sovietinės okupacijos metais minėti asmenys vertinti nevienareikšmiškai. Pirmaisiais pokario... Since then, it has been striven to give a sense to this event and the personalities of the heroes as obviously as possible. Today, looking from the perspective of time, we may bravely identify the cult of personalities. In the present research, the concept of cult is treated as the exaggerated worship of somebody, idealisation or as huge respect expressed to somebody. In the societies based on nationalistic ideology, the cults of persons or events appear seeking for the national ideal and herewith striving to form (construct) the society. Real and ”fake” features of historical personalities become a material for creation of the national image and must perform some particular social functions – to concentrate, consolidate the nation, give it strengths to fight in the periods of hardship and pursue for majesty in the times of success. In the paper, there analysed the sources of a cult, its activeness and development. The social functions of the cult as well as its tangible and intangible expressions are identified. The latter are analysed in the semantic aspect. Having analysed the sources and literature, it is possible to state that the cult of S. Darius and S. Darbiniu ir pagalbiniu elektrodais naudojami platinos elektrodas. Palyginamuoju naudojamas Ag/AgCl/KClsot elektrodas. Visos potencialų vertės nurodomos palyginamojo elektrodo atžvilgiu. POT sluoksnis nusodintas potenciostatiniu ir potenciodinaminiu būdu ant platinos elektrodo, keičiant eksperimento sąlygas. Potenciodinaminiai dengimo matavimai atlikti keičiant elektrodo potencialą nuo -0,1V iki 1,0V ir nuo -0,1V iki 1,2V. Dengiant Pt elektrodą buvo atliekama 10 arba 20 ciklų. Potencialo skleidimo greitis – 10, 20, 50 ir 100 mV/s. Potenciostatiniai dengimo matavimai atlikti esant pastoviam potencialui Econst 0,9V, 1,0V ir 1,2V ir dengimo laikui (tdeng) 1, 3 arba 5 minutės. Poli(o-metilanilinu) modifikuoti elektrodai gali būti naudojami askorbo rūgšties analizei tirpaluose, kurių pH 5,5. Askorbo rūgšties koncentracijų intervale nuo 0,1mM iki 1mM gaunama tiesinė oksidacijos ribinių srovių priklausomybė nuo koncentracijos, jei askorbo rūgšties matavimai atliekami potenciostatinėmis sąlygomis. Žemiausia askorbo rūgšties nustatymo riba – 0,1mM.The Epsilon potentiometer model combined with a PC running Epsilon EC-2000-XP (Ver. 1.40.67_NT) software was used in these theses. During the research, a three-electrode cell was used. A platinum electrode was utilised as the working and auxiliary electrode. An Ag/AgCl/KClsot electrode was used as reference electrode. All values of the potentials refer to this electrode. An POT layer was deposited under potentiostatic or potentiodynamic conditions on platinum electrode by varying parameters of the experiment. Potentiodynamic polymer formation measurements were performed by alternating the electrode potential from 0.1V to 1.0V and from 0.1V to 1.2V. When modifying Pt electrode, 10 or 20 potential cycles were performed. The potential scan rate was 10, 20, 50, and 100 mV/s. Potentiostatic polymer formation measurements were performed under the constant potential Econst 0.9V, 1.0V, and 1.2V, and the time of coating (tcoating) was 1, 3 or 5 minutes. Poly (o-methylaniline) modified electrodes can be used for the analysis of ascorbic acid in solutions with pH values 5,5. Within the concentration interval of ascorbic acid between 0,1mM and 1mM, a linear dependence between oxidation limit currents and concentration was observed when ascorbic acid measurements were carried out potentiostatic conditions. The lowest sensing limit of ascorbic acid was 0,1mM.

Magistriniame darbe yra nagrinėjami švaraus opalo pralaidumo spektrai. Nustatyta, kad stop juostos padėtis priklauso nuo spindulio kritimo kampo į bandinį. Apskaičiuoti pagrindiniai parametrai: tarp-plokštuminis atstumas d, opalo sferų diametras D, bandinio lūžio rodiklis n ir opalo sferų lūžio rodiklis . Pagamintas opal-FeTTPS hibridinis darinys ir išnagrinėtas jo pralaidumas bei magnetinis cirkulinis dichroizmas. Nustatyta, kad FeTTPS stop juostos padėtis prie įvairių kampų šiek tiek skiriasi nuo švaraus opalo. Hibridinio darinio magnetinis cirkulinis dichroizmas kinta keičiant kritimo kampą ar stop juostos padėtį.In this work transmission optics of opal photonic crystals and infiltrated with iron porphyrin was studied. Work analyses synthetic opal crystals grown by means of sedimentation from the spheres of SiO2. Samples were 0.9 mm thick, and their surfaces planes were parallel (111) to crystallographic planes. In these samples, the stop band due to Bragg reflection from the (111) plane was observed in the spectral region of 0.45-0.7 µm at angles of light incidence. Iron porphyries FeTTPS magnetic circular dichroism was also investigated. Synthetic opal crystals composed of silica spheres were infiltrated with (c=10 mM, pH=6.8) buffered phosphate solution of iron porphyrin. In optical studies the FeTPPS-impregnated opal samples were immersed in hexane solution to vary average refractive index of composite system and to control the mutual positions of the opal stop band and absorption bands of FeTPPS. FeTPPS magnetic circular dichroism spectra dependency on opal stop band position was noted. The experimental opal transmission spectra date were analyzed in which the optical response of the opal and infiltrated with iron porphyrin was calculated by using a Bragg’s law and it was found that spacing between adjacent [111] lattice planes d is 254.95 nm, opal crystal composed of silica spheres of diameter is 312 nm and average refractive index of composite system – 1.35.

Habilitacinei procedūrai teikiamų darbų apžvalgoje yra pateikiama autoriaus atlikta ir kitų autorių įvairių kristalinių (ZnS, ZnSe) ir organinių junginių diodų, nanovamzdelių, plonų plėvelių, nanofibrų, ir kitų nanodarinių mokslinėje literatūroje skelbtų eksperimentinių elektrinio laidumo tyrimų rezultatų analizė bei šių rezultatų sugretinimas su fononais stimuliuoto tuneliavimo (FST) teorijų pagrindu paskaičiuotomis tuneliavimo tikimybių priklausomybėmis. Tyrimo rezultatai leido išsiaiškinti tai, kad krūvininkų generacijos procesas yra jų tuneliavimas iš gaudiklių dalyvaujant fononams. Įrodyta, kad organiniuose dariniuose (jų tarpe ir nanodariniuose) stebimą virsmą iš puslaidininkinio laidumo į metalinį laidumą (kai virsmo temperatūra TC) galima paaiškinti krūvininkų tunelinio proceso metu susidariusiu balansu tarp fononų absorbcijos ir jų generacijos, kai proceso metu elektrinis laukas krūvininkus išlaisvina iš lokalizuotos būsenos į laidumo būseną. Toje temperatūrų srityje, kur T < TC, tuneliavime dominuoja fononų absorbcija, ir todėl ten tunelinio perėjimo tikimybė, temperatūrai augant, padidėja. Priešingai, tose srityse, kur T > TC, procese dominuoja fononų emisija ir todėl ji sumažina krūvininkų tuneliavimo tikimybę, tuo pačiu iššaukdama elektrinio laidumo sumažėjimą kylant temperatūrai.

[toliau žr. visą tekstą]Habilitation procedure review is for to clarify the conductance mechanism in polymers and other conducting nanodevices. The model based on the phonon-assisted tunnelling (PhAT) process, initiated by an electric field. An advantage of this PhAT model over the other models is the possibility to describe the behaviour of conductivity data measured at both low and high temperatures with the same set of parameters: εT - the energetic depth of the center, m* - the effective mass, T- temperature, E- the electric field, ħω - the phonon energy and a- the electron-phonon interaction constant. From these ones only the electron-phonon coupling constant a, and the phonon energy ħω are the fitting parameters estimated from the best fitting of the experimental data and the theory. Other parameters are from experiments or from literary sources known. Therefore, the PhAT mechanism could be dominant in the conductance of the MWNT, so as was shown, also in the case of the single-wall nanotubes. On the basis of this proposed model, the phenomenon of the crossover from non-metallic to metallic behavior of the conductivity is also explained. The decrease of conductivity in the framework of this model occurs at the temperatures T > TC when the phonon emission in the process of tunnelling dominates over the phonon absorption. This study comprises a synthesis of textual, iconographic and archaeological evidence relating to kingship in the later Achaemenid empire, from the end of the reign of Darius II to the invasion and death of Alexander III of Macedon. Chapter 1 deals with the textual evidence for the defenition of the Achaemenid dynasty in the fourth century and considers literary definitions of kingship in epitaphic eulogies and heroic conquest narratives. Authors referred to include Xenophon, Isocrates, Arrian and Herodotus and Darius I's inscriptions are discussed in detail. Chapter 2 considers 'Court Tales' in Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew, looking at how foreign groups presented themselves in the Achaemenid court and in relationship to the king. Chapter 3 begins with court tales about objects and luxury material culture associated with the Persian king and goes on to discuss pictorial and archaeological evidence for its extent and associations. A detailed survey is made of extant Achaemenid-style glass tableware. Chapter 4 expands this discussion into a survey of the fourth century royal visual environment. Two case studies examine the iconographic presentation of the king in two roles in a variety of media: the enthroned monarch accessible to petitioners and the combative royal hero fighting beasts and representatives of subject nations. Both genres represent structures through which regional cultures could formulate distinctive relationships with Achaemenid authority. Key themes throughout include regional engagement with royal culture and ideas and the continuing depth of Near Eastern historical tradition in the later Achaemenid period.

This paper illustrates the ways in which Kezilahabi’s 1985 dissertation makes its own daring contribution to the field of aesthetic criticism through the proposition of a new critical approach to African literature. Kezilahabi’s starting point for the elaboration this new critical approach is the realization of a prevailing tendency among literary critics to read African literature against formal and aesthetic paradigms deeply rooted in the Western literary and philosophical traditions. Opposed to the adoption of interpretative frames that do not acknowledge the philosophical implications involved in literary analysis, Kezilahabi affirms the importance of approaching literary production from within the artistic and philosophical tradition it stems from. Inspired by hermeneutic philosophy, especially in its “ontological turn” embodied by the philosophy of Martin Heidegger, Kezilahabi’s focus is on literary interpretation as an ontological enterprise aimed at “situating” literature within a horizon of understanding where its proper universe of references can be disclosed.

Saviformuojantys puslaidininkiniai kvantiniai taškai (quantum dots, QDs), kurių charakteringos elektronų subjuostinių (intraband) šuolių energijos yra infraraudonajame spektriniame ruože (3–25 μm), sudaro daugelio fotojutiklių aktyviąją terpę ir yra aktualūs taikymams šiuolaikinėje optoelektronikoje. Disertacijoje nagrinėjami molekulinio pluoštelio epitaksijos būdu užauginti: -- InAs kvantiniai taškai, įterpti į GaAs matricą ir GaAs/AlAs supergardelę; -- InAs kvantiniai taškai be ir su įtempimus sumažinančiuoju InGaAs sluoksniu, įterpti į kompozitinę GaAs/AlAs kvantinę duobę; -- skirtingo aukščio koloniniai InGaAs kvantiniai taškai arba kvantiniai strypeliai (quantum rods, QRs), apsupti dvimačiu InGaAs sluoksniu, ir užauginti naudojant arba As2, arba As4 šaltinį. Taikant moduliacinę atspindžio spektroskopiją ir fotoliuminescenciją, buvo ištirtos šių darinių optinės savybės bei jų elektroninė sandara, o taip pat atskleista auginimo sąlygų įtaka darinių struktūrai. Eksperimentiniai tyrimai buvo interpretuojami atliekant teorinį modeliavimą skaitmeniniu (nextnano3 programa) bei analitiniu (sukurtas algoritmas) metodais.Self-assembled InAs quantum dots (QDs), whose intersublevel transition energies lie in the mid- and far-infrared spectral range (3–25μm), have attracted particular interest as active elements of infrared photodetectors. This interest is mainly due to intriguing atomic-like quantum confinement and unique optical and electronic properties of QDs. Moreover, QD electronic structure can be adjusted by varying the dots size and shape or their environment. These features make QDs to be of importance in creation of photoelectronic devices with a desired spectral range. The dissertation is concerned specifically with molecular beam epitaxy grown InGaAs QD structures with: -- InAs QD stacks embedded in GaAs matrix and GaAs/AlAs superlattice (SL), or alternatively InAs/GaAs QD-SL structures with and without AlAs barriers between the dot layers; -- InAs QDs with and without InGaAs strain-reducing layers, embedded within GaAs/AlAs quantum wells; -- columnar InGaAs QDs, also referred to as quantum rods (QRs) or quantum posts, of different morphology. (The quantum confined structure consists of vertically oriented InGaAs QRs immersed in a two-dimensional InGaAs layer). These QD structures were studied by modulated reflectance and photo- luminescence spectroscopies to reveal their optical properties and the full- extent of electronic structure. Experimental data were interpreted by numerical (nextnano3 software) and analytical (algorithm developed) modelling.

Daktaro disertacijoje pristatomi cinko oksido pagrindu užaugintų puslaidininkinių sluoksnių ir jų įvairialyčių darinių, skirtų taikymams optoelektronikoje, tyrimų rezultatai spektroskopijos metodais. Optiškai charakterizuoti aukštos kokybės cinko oksido sluoksniai ir jų įvairialyčiai dariniai: ZnO, ZnO:Ga ir MgZnO epitaksiniai sluoksniai, auginti molekulinės epitaksijos būdu, ZnO:N sluoksniai, auginti magnetroninio dulkinimo būdu, šviesos diodams paruošti CdZnO/ZnO kvantinių duobių dariniai ant GaN sluoksnių, auginti apjungiant molekulinės epitaksijos ir cheminio metaloorganinio junginio nusodinimo iš dujinės fazės auginimo metodus. Šiame darbe surinkta naujų duomenų apie fotosužadintų krūvininkų dinamiką ir sąveiką cinko oksido dariniuose. Nustatyta, kad netamprioje laisvų eksitonų sąveikoje dalyvaujantys prie priemaišų pririšti eksitonai įtakoja sąveikos liuminescencijos juostos padėtį spektre. Aprašyta krūvininkų lokalizacija MgZnO epitaksiniuose sluoksniuose dviejų skirtungų lokalizacijos centrų lauke. Dėl to žymiai padidėja spindulinės rekombinacijos efektyvumas, kas turi didelės svarbos taikymams optoelektronikos prietaisams. CdZnO/ZnO kvantinių duobių darinių, skirtų žalios spektro srities šviesos diodams, tyrimai parodė, kad mažas spindulinės rekombinacijos efektyvumas kambario temperatūroje yra dėl ženkliai silpnesnio krūvninkų lokalizacijos efekto, kuris užtikrina didelį efektyvumą įprastuose InGaN/GaN kvantinių duobių dariniuose.In doctoral dissertation, results of investigation on zinc oxide based semiconductor layers and heterostructures for application in optoelectronics by spectroscopy methods are presented. High quality zinc oxide layers and heterostructures were characterized optically. That is ZnO, ZnO:Ga and MgZnO epitaxial layers grown by molecular beam epitaxy technique, ZnO:N layers grown by magnetron sputtering method, CdZnO/ZnO quantum wells structures for light-emitting diodes grown on GaN layers by combined molecular beam epitaxy and metalorganic chemical vapor deposition techniques. In this work, new data on dynamics and interaction of photoexcited carriers in zinc oxide based structures were acquired. It was shown, that the contribution of impurities bound excitons in the inelastic interaction of free excitons influences the position of luminescence band of the interaction in spectrum. In MgZnO epitaxial layers, the localization of carriers in the field of two different localization centers is described. Due to the localization the radiative recombination efficiency increases significantly and it has importance for application in optoelectronic devices. Investigation of the CdZnO/ZnO quantum wells structures for green spectral range light-emitting diodes showed that low radiative recombination efficiency at room temperature is mainly due to weak carrier localization effect, which is responsible for high efficiency of conventional InGaN/GaN quantum wells structures.

Darbo tikslas. Susintetinti naujus 2,5-pakeistus-4-tiazolinono junginius ir ištirti jų antimikrobinį aktyvumą. Darbo uždaviniai: 1. Susintetinti 2,5-pakeistus-4-tiazolinono junginius. 2. Ištirti gautų junginių poveikį tyrimais in silico ir in vitro. 3. Susieti gautų junginių struktūros ryšį su jų aktyvumu. Metodai. Junginiai buvo sintezuoti mikrobangų metodu. Junginių aktyvumas buvo tiriamas in silico. Atliktas pirminis mikrobiologinis tyrimas in vitro užnuodytos lekštelės metodu. Rezultatai. Buvo susintetinti 8-uoni 2,5-pakeisti-4-tiazolinono dariniai. Atlikus tyrimus in silico, buvo nustatytas preliminarus poveikis S. aureus esančiam baltymui fabI. Atlikus pirminius tyrimus in vitro buvo pastebėtas trijų junginių su 5-nitrofurano pakaitu (VIP-41), 5-para-brombenzaldehido pakaitu (VIP-42), 5-dimetilamino (VIP-47) galimas priešmikrobinis poveikis prieš tirtus mikroorganizmus. Išvados. Atlikus tyrimus in vitro nustatyta, jog aktyviausi junginiai yra: VIP-41 ir VIP-47. Rodanino darinių propilo pakaitu 2-oje padėtyje priešmikrobinis aktyvumas mažesnis nei su alilo pakaitu. Taip pat nustatyta, kad rodanino darinių, su nitrofurolo pakaitu didesniam antimikrobiniam veikimui reikalinga nitro grupė. Pats alilo pakaitas junginiams reikšmingo aktyvumo nesuteikia, o svarbesnis aktyvumui aldehido pakaitas 5-oje padėtyje.The aim of research. Synthesize new 2,5-substituted-4-thiazolinone derivatives and evaluate their antimicrobial activity. Tasks of research: 1. Synthesize new 2,5-substituted-4-thiazolinone derivatives. 2. Evaluate antimicrobial activity of newly synthesized 2,5-substituted-4-thiazolinone derivatives. 3. Evaluate compounds structure-activity relationship. Methods. Compounds were synthesized with microwave method. Their activity was evaluated in silico. Synoptic research in vivo was accomplished by a poisoned plate technique. Results. 8 2,5-substituted-4-thiazolinone derivatives were synthesized. After in silico research was evaluated preliminary bactericidic compounds activity against S. aureus, acting on fabI protein. Synoptic research in vitro has shown antimicrobial activity of three compounds: 5-nitrofuran substituted (VIP-41), 5-para-brombenzaldehyde substituted (VIP-42), 5-dimethylaminebenzaldehyde substituted (VIP-47). Conclusions. Research in vitro has shown that the most active compounds are: VIP-41 and VIP-47. Evaluated, that 4-thiazolinone derivatives with propyl substituent in a 2-nd position antimicrobial activity is less than with allyl substituent. For better anctimicrobial activity nitro group is necessary in 4-thiazolinone derivatives with nitrofurfural substituent. Allyl substituent does not provide significant antimicrobial activity itself, more important is aldehyde substituent in 5-th position.

Ankstesnių tyrimų išvadose nėra paskelbta kad Medininkų aukštuma ir Eišiškių plynaukštė yra vienaamžiai dariniai. Magistrinio darbo tikslas – atlikti dviejų orografinių vienetų palyginamąją charakteristiką. Tam tikslui buvo panaudoti ir įsisavinti du metodai – granuliometrinė ir petrografinė analizės. Buvo atrinktos trys atodangos Medininkų aukštumoje, trys Eišiškių plynaukštėje. Buvo paimti mėginiai – 25 granuliometrinei, 19 – petrografinei analizei atlikti. Atliktų tyrimų išvados, ir anksčiau kito pobūdžio atlikti tyrimai liudija, kad Medininkų aukštuma ir Eišiškių plynaukštė yra vienaamžiai dariniai, to paties ledyno suformuoti, tačiau skirtingų jo srautų.The title of the study is ‘A comparative analysis of the peripheral areas of the glacial surface of the Medininkai highland and Eišiškės plateau’ It was not concluded in the manuscripts that Medininkai highland and Eišiškės plateau is the same age. The aim of the master thesis is to do comparative characteristic of two orographic localities. Grain size and petropgraphic analysis were done and mastered for that reason. Three outcrops in Medininkai highland and three in Eišiškės plateau were choisen for the investication. 25 samples for the grain size and 19 for the petropgraphic analysis were taken. Conclusions of this study and previously done similar research evidence that Medininkai highland and Eišiškės plateau is the same age formations, the same glacier, but formed by different flow.

Les trente premières années de la vie de Darius Milhaud ont été le creuset de son devenir; l'homme et son génie créateur se sont trouvés au cœur des courants passionnels et esthétiques de son époque; on ne saurait donc exclure leurs répercussions sur sa formation intellectuelle et artistique à l'aube d'une vie si dense de créations. La révélation, très tôt, d'un tempérament créateur puissant eut pour conséquence une œuvre abondante et protéiforme : quatre-vingt-deux numéros d'opus, déjà, en 1923, représentant tous les caractères, tous les styles et tous les genres de musique avec des collaborateurs prestigieux tels Francis Jammes, Paul Claudel ou André Gide. Si la période d'avant-guerre fut celle de l'apprentissage, de l'ouverture au monde musical et des premières réalisations parfois maladroites, l'exil volontaire des années 1917-1918 à Rio, lui permit de trouver l'assurance de ses propres forces et d'atteindre déjà une certaine maturité. Guide par son instinct, il prit le chemin d'une totale liberté : liberté de la mélodie redevenue modale, rupture avec les conventions harmoniques, indépendance des plans sonores superposes etc. . . The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that Cantate pour l'inauguration du Musee de l'Homme, op. 164, Darius Milhaud's musical setting of a poem by Robert Desnos, can be made accessible to choral ensembles by employing a choir in addition to the vocal quartet traditionally used in performances, thereby reflecting more accurately the poet's concept of the work, even though these indications are not present in Milhaud's musical score.In order to provide conductors and scholars with the tools to understand and perform Cantate pour l'inauguration du Musee de l'Homme, in this document I describe the work, analyze its poetic and musical structure, trace its performance history and practice, and suggest ways to realize Desnos's original concept of the work. I also present some possible explanations as to why Milhaud did not include any indication for vocal performance forces in Cantate pour l'inauguration du Musee de l'Homme, and why he himself performed the work with vocal quartet and not with choir. Finally, I propose that employing a choir in addition to soloists for Cantate pour l'inauguration du Musee de l'Homme is consistent with the performance history of Milhaud's other vocal quartet works of similar style.

Šis darbas skirtas kraštinių darinių moreninių gruntų konsolidacinių ir stiprumo savybių sąryšiui išstudijuoti(išnagrinėti). Gruntų bandiniai paimti iš gręžinių kerno. Gręžiniai išgręžti NPP eksploatacijos nutraukimo objekte. Atliktų bandymų rezultatai parodė, kad klasikinės gruntų mechanikos dėsniai moreninių gruntų stiprumo priklausomybė tinka statistiniame lygyje. Bandymai įrodė, kad moreninio priemolio stiprumas yra multifaktorinis parametras. Tokio grunto bandinių stiprumas priklauso ir nuo molio dalelių kiekio, ir nuo konsistencijos, ir nuo poringumo koeficiento sumažėjimo. Poringumo koeficientas mažėja, didėjant vertikaliai apkrovai. Todėl klasikinė Coulomb – Navier – Mohr‘s stiprumo lygtis yra komplikuota.This work deals with consolidation and strength features relationship in marginal glacial soils. Soil samples were taken from boreholes core. Boreholes were drilled in Nuclear Power Plant at used nuclear fuel storage facility. The results of test show that the classical laws of soil mechanics of strength dependence in moraine soils are correct in statistical level. Tests prove that strength of moraine loam is multifactor parameter. The strength of that kind of soil depends on quantity of clay particles, consistence and porosity decrease. Porosity decreases when vertical load rises. Therefore classical Coulomb-Navier-Mohr's equation is complicated.

Darbo tikslas – įvertinti 5-nitrofuraldehido darinių struktūros įtaką jų antimikrobiniam aktyvumui ir parinkti perspektyviausius antimikrobinius junginius tolimesniems tyrimams.
Tyrimo metodai. Junginių antimikrobinio aktyvumo prognozė atlikta panaudojant PASS programą. Antimikrobinis aktyvumas ištirtas in vitro serijinio skiedimo standžioje terpėje metodu. Junginių farmakokinetinių savybių ir toksiškumo prognozė atlikta, panaudojant ADME/Tox Boxes programą.
Tyrimo rezultatai. PASS programa antibakterinį ir priešgrybelinį aktyvumą prognozavo visiems tiriamiems junginiams. Atlikus tyrimus in vitro, nustatyta, kad junginių aktyvumas prieš įvairius mikroorganizmus skyrėsi, nitrofurano fragmento neturintys junginiai buvo visai neaktyvūs. Nitrofurano bisdariniai yra gana aktyvūs prieš visas bakterijas (MSK = 0,5 100 μg/ml), išskyrus P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae ir P. mirabilis. Bisjunginys BIC-34, turintis butilo fragmentą, buvo aktyviausias prieš S. aureus, E. faecalis ir B. subtilis, o piridino liekaną turintis bisjunginys BIC 67 – prieš K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, P. mirabilis (MSK = 50 μg/ml). The Aim of the Research – to evaluate the influence of the structure of 5-nitrofuraldehyde derivatives and identify the most promising compounds for the further research. Methods. Prognosis of antimicrobial activity of all compounds was carried out by using PASS software. Antimicrobial activity was tested in vitro by using a serial dilution in agar technique. Pharmacokinetic properties and toxicity were predicted by using ADME/Tox Boxes program. Results. PASS program predicted antibacterial and antifungal activity for all tested compounds. The results of experiments in vitro showed that activity against various microorganisms was different; compounds without nitrofuran fragment were not active. Biscompouds were active enough against all bacteria (MIC = 0,5-100 μg/ml), except P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae and P. mirabilis. This study focuses on the identification of didactic guidelines for presenting values
education in secondary schools. The studied literature sends a clear message that
values education is of cardinal importance in education, teaching and training. In 2000
the National Department of Education of South Africa assembled a task team to identify
a set of values in particular relevant to education and training. In the report Manifesto
on Values Education and Democracy (DOE, 2001) six core values are singled out as of
primary importance to the new dispensation in South Africa: equality, equal rights,
tolerance, multilingualism, transparency, accountability, and social responsibility. The
Report focuses only on national, political and social values, however. From research
performed by Rens (2005), Hattingh (1999) en Bagarette (1995), it is clear that an
individual needs to be educated as a holistic being and all life values thus need to be
addressed integratively .
A literature study was undertaken to clarify the concepts values, value orientation and
values education, and also to determine how adolescents experience values education.
Consequently, different values education programmes currently implemented in foreign
countries were analysed . It was found that the 'Cornerstone-waardes" programme of
John Heenan, applied in New Zealand, could reasonably easily be adapted for the
South African context. From the discussion of the curriculating process as applicable to
values education, didactic guidelines could be formulated for values education in South
African schools.
To identify the current orientation to values as manifested by learners, teachers and
school principals in South Africa, the values questionnaire compiled by Vreken and
Rens (2001) for research on the values orientation of university learners, was adapted
and completed by the population involved in this study. Principals were subjected to
partly-structured interviews to gain their opinions on values education in schools.
Interviews on possible guidelines for values education in South Africa were also
conducted by e-mail with international experts.
Since the primary aim of the study was to determine the values orientation of secondary
school learners and to recommend didactic guidelines for values education, the aim was
mainly attained by means of the empirical study. Noteworthy is, however, that there is
no symmetry between learners' views on important values and those that the

This is a paper in music history presenting a study on French composer Darius Milhaud, his position in the French Nationalist music scene and his connection with Brazil. The paper will attempt to show Milhaud's status as a French composer as viewed through the lens of the Nationalism theories by English author, Anthony D. Smith, and the sociological theories by Pierre Bourdieu concerning the field of symbolic production in classical music. The pap er also covers the influence of the Brazilian music scene on Milhaud's background as a French composer whose oeuvre attracted attention in France during the Interbellum period. A special emphasis is given to the key role that Milhaud's stay in Brazil between 1917 and 1918 played in his compositional experimentations and in the establishment of his career as a composer. Additionally, the paper looks at his connection with tradition and Neoclassicism, and considers a link between the appropriation of Brazilian popular music in Milhaud's oeuvre and the concepts behind the European avant-garde of the time. Ce type de composition n’a cessé d’intriguer les archéologues depuis le XIXe siècle. Plus grave : l’action, dans les deux bandeaux, semble inexistante, et les liens entre le haut et le bas ne se repèrent pas aisément. L’appellation de divinités spectatrices s’est assez tôt imposée pour les figures de la frise supérieure, tant il est vrai que ces entités divines paraissent détachées des préoccupations humaines. Parallèlement, l’apparente inaction des personnages du bandeau inférieur s’est révélé un véritable casse-tête pour certains interprètes. Ce type de décor s’est imposé dans les ateliers d’Italie méridionale : quelques peintres apuliens ont produit, dans la seconde moitié du IVe siècle av. J. -C. , les exemplaires les plus remarquables. Le Peintre de Darius a fait de ces deux bandeaux superposés une de ses spécialités. L’arbitraire, voire l’incohérence, règnent dans ces compositions, sans qu’on comprenne de prime abord pourquoi. Non seulement le nombre de divinités du registre supérieur varie de un à neuf, mais les identités choisies semblent aussi découler du libre arbitre des imagiers. Preuve en soit les images illustrant le même mythe, parfois de la main du même décorateur, et où cependant l’appareil divin est entièrement différent. Le but de cette thèse est de démonter le mécanisme des deux bandeaux, pour reconstruire le véritable fonctionnement de l’image. Notre visée sera d’abord de comprendre les raisons qui ont poussé les peintres de vases apuliens à choisir ce système de composition particulier. Mais pourquoi déconstruction ? Présenter un épisode mythologique, en supprimant toute action, en séparant radicalement les protagonistes, les dieux d’une part, les humains d’autre part, et en montrant les figures disposées les unes à côtés des autres, n’est-ce pas détruire l’image mythologique telle qu’on l’avait représentée depuis trois siècles ?A group of apulian vases present as a decorum two superimposed friezes: the top frieze is solely devoted to the divinities, the bottom to humans, i. The name of spectator divinities quickly established itself for the figures of the top frieze based on the fact that these divine entities seem detached from all human concerns. In addition the apparent inaction of the characters in the bottom frieze turned out to be a real puzzle for some interpreters. This type of decorum prevailed in workshops of southern Italy: some apulian painters produced in the second half of the forth century BC the most remarkable samples. The Painter of Darius made these superimposed friezes one of his specialities. These compositions are, at a first glance, ruled by chaos and incoherence without any obvious reason. Not only does the number of divinities from the top register vary from one to nine, but the identities chosen also seem to depend on the good will of the painters. For example the images illustrating the same myth are sometimes executed by the same decorator and yet show a completely different divine apparel. The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the mechanism of these two friezes in order to reconstruct the true functioning of the image. Our target will first of all be to understand the reasons that pushed the painters of apulian vases to choose this particular composition system. But why are we interested in deconstruction? To present a mythological episode by ridding it of all action, by systematically separating the protagonists, the gods on one hand and the humans on the other, and by showing the figures placed next to each other, is that not itself a destruction of the mythological image as it has been represented for the past three centuries?
