Abstract:
Das Unheimliche verunsichert und verfremdet das als selbstverständlich vorausgesetzte Alltagsbewusstsein. Sigmund Freud hat in seiner wegleitenden Arbeit zum Sandmann E.T.A. Hoffmanns hervorgehoben, dass das Gefühl des Unheimlichen aus der Begegnung mit den verdrängten, im Grunde gut vertrauten infantilen Komplexen resultiert. Die vorliegende Arbeit will das Spektrum der Interpretationsmöglichkeiten des Unheimlichen erweitern. Zunächst wird das Phänomen des Unheimlichen beschrieben und definiert. Nach einer ausführlichen Würdigung der Gedanken Freuds zur triebpsychologischen Deutung des Phänomens wird das Unheimliche als Infragestellung der Integration des Selbst in einen neuen Zusammenhang gestellt und neu verstanden; die mit dem Unheimlichen verbundenen Bruchlinien der (Selbst-)Erfahrung werden nacheinander bezogen auf den Identitätszweifel, auf traumatische Erfahrungen, die Angst vor dem Zerfall des Körperbilds, die Demarkation des Selbst und ihre Bedrohung durch »Abjekte«. Gerade weil (und nicht obwohl) das Unheimliche verunsichert und erschüttert, hat es eine kreative Kehrseite, denn Kreativität ist an die temporäre Desintegration von Erfahrungen gebunden. Der Beitrag endet mit einer Kritik an Weiblichkeitskonzepten in der Psychoanalyse, die das Feminine und das Unheimliche zu eng verbinden. Stattdessen wird es als Teil der conditio humana verstanden.

Abstract:
Die Existenz unheimlicher Phänomene wird häufig als Beleg dafür herangezogen, dass unsere Welt letztlich verstandesmäßig undurchdringbar bleiben muss. Freud jedoch nimmt in seinem Text »Das Unheimliche« (1919h) eine Gegenposition dazu ein: Er entwirft eine Theorie des Unheimlichen. Gleichzeitig traut er sich dennoch an die für den Verstand so bedrohliche Erfahrung seiner eigenen Grenzen nahe heran. Diese doppelte Richtung des Freud-Textes stellt ein Oszillieren zwischen zwei Polen dar, die nicht nur im Unheimlichen, sondern in der Psychoanalyse überhaupt, in eine enge Beziehung miteinander treten: die Wissenschaft und das Dunkle. Denn die Psychoanalyse hat im Unbewussten ihren speziellen Gegenstand gefunden, der in einer Weise dem Unheimlichen gleicht: Es entzieht sich der Kontrolle, auch der letztgültigen theoretischen. Dass letzterer Umstand kein Grund dafür sein kann, Versuche der konsistenten Theoretisierung bezüglich speziell beschaffener Gegenstände zu unterbinden, das wird im zweiten Teil des vorliegenden Textes anhand der Rezeption des Unheimlichen Freuds durch Cixous und Lacan gezeigt. Eine Faszination für beide Pole, das Licht und das Unverständliche, entspricht der Tatsache, dass beide ohnehin in ihrer Position von der jeweils anderen abhängig sind und war als solche konstitutiv für die Entstehung der Psychoanalyse.

Es wird eine typische sozialpsychologische Figuration beschrieben, die in Resonanz auf das Coronavirus entstanden ist: die Verschärfung ödipaler Generationenkonflikte. Diese Aktualisierung eines unbewussten Kernkonfliktes wird in der Regel als »unheimlich« empfunden. Eine Rezeption von Freuds Schrift »Das Unheimliche« zeigt, dass die globale Verbreitung des Virus als Folge des grenzenlosen neoliberalen Kapitalismus uns in genau die Todesnähe führt, die schon Freud als Merkmal des »Unheimlichen« beschrieben hat. Psychoanalytiker sind in der Wahrnehmung dieser Zusammenhänge nicht ausreichend ausgebildet, da ihre Ausbildung die Auseinandersetzung mit Freuds kulturtheoretischen Schriften stark vernachlässigt.

Abstract:
This paper analyses Freud's concept of Das Unheimliche used to describe a strange proximity between the known and the unknown, whether as something acquainted represents itself with an extraneous shape or as something extraneous discovers an element of intimacy in itself. Freud inaugurated this concept in the text Das Unheimliche in 1919 referring to cases in which the subject in relation to objects or events has feelings that range from usual closeness to the point of utter automated perception, when an object or event appears strange. The automatism of repetition is only one of manifestations of Das Unheimliche. Freud wrote this text responding to the text by Ernest Jentsch's "On the Psychology of Des Unheimlichen" ("Uber die Psychologie des Unheimlichen") from 1906 arguing on the importance and significance of the doll Olympia in Hoffmann's story "The Sandman". The position of Olympia - whether she was seen as alive or as a machine - remained the main issue in late discussions of various authors. Therefore, Das Unheimliche and women are very closely related, not only because the concept is based on the female character of Olympia from the story, but also because Freud himself emphasized the Das Unheimliche character of the female body. The paper discusses the relation between Das Unheimliche and women, and reconsiders the relation between Das Unheimliche aspects of female characters in The Tales o f Hoffmann. Short stories "The Sandman", "Councillor Krespel" and "A New Year's Eve Adventure" were also chosen by Jules Barbier and Michel Carré for the opera "Tales of Hoffmann" by Jacques Offenbach, in which the leading roles of Stela, Olympia, Antonia and Giulietta are in fact one woman who takes a variety of forms.

Este artículo regresa al clásico texto de Freud Das Unheimliche para tratar de exhibir la dimensión productiva y la perspectiva de futuro que le son inherentes. Para ello, se visitan las propuestas del artista Mike Kelley y del filósofo Giorgio Agamben que tratan de ilustrar plásticamente las características de esta noción. Se examinan, a continuación, las tesis freudianas sobre el manejo de los significantes en un marco de angustia unheimlich, esto es, de pérdida súbita de las referencias habituales. Se termina defendiendo que es la apuesta de vanguardia del futurismo, de la que el texto de Freud sería epitafio, la que mejor permite exhibir la importancia crucial del término Unheimliche para la ontología psicoanalítica.

In seinem Beitrag «Unheimliche Heimat – Rechtspopulismus nach Schweizer Art» konstatiert Beat Dietschy, dass die Schweiz bislang «einer ernsthaften Auseinandersetzung über die Frage, welchen Anteil die Schweiz am jüngsten internationalen Aufschwung der nationalistischen und xenophoben Identitätspolitiken habe, tunlichst ausgewichen» sei. Er zeichnet materialreich nach, wie sich in der Schweiz bereits im 20. Jahrhundert rechtspopulistische Bewegungen formiert und etabliert haben, deren Nachfolgerinnen mit ihren Kampagnen in jüngerer Vergangenheit Ausstrahlungskraft bis ins Ausland gewonnen haben. Dietschy fomuliert schliesslich in acht Thesen, was «sich ausgehend von den skizzierten Schweizer Beispielen der Politisierung von Überfremdungsängsten zum massiven Zuwachs an rechtspopulistischen Bewegungen und Politiken sagen» lasse, der in den letzten Jahren in vielen Ländern Europas und darüber hinaus festzustellen war.

Em 1919, Freud encontrava-se com o texto de Hoffman “O homem de Areia” e nos apresentava Nataniel e Olimpia. A partir desse texto vai teorizar sobre Das Unheimliche, propondo uma estética psicanalítica centrada na qualidade do sentir, tendo como objeto de investigação não o belo, mas sim o horror. Em 2011, século XXI, nos deparamos com o filme “Coraline e o Mundo Secreto”, baseado no livro de mesmo nome, do autor britânico Neil Gaiman. Posta em cena a temática do infantil retratando as aventuras e desventuras da menina púbere e sua boneca de pano. Tomando essa produção cinematográfica como uma vinheta clínica, nos sentimos impelidos a repensar a contemporaneidade psicanalítica: invenção-tradição e a vitalidade do Estranho freudiano.

Assim, ele desperta a atenção para um tema pouco trabalhado ou mesmo ignorado pela crítica literária, especialmente aquela que se debruça sobre o tema do duplo no romance moderno, ao exibir a complexa rede de desejos e frustrações que ligará o duplo à autômata, em diversas obras modernas, num núcleo único, mortal e inquietantemente infamiliar.

ProcessesBelonginsand Works are silent characters that are congregated in the Third Edition of the First Catalogue of Privileged Belongings of the Unheimliche Wunderkammer of the Bibliotheca Abscondita, the bookobject that curiously is as much as starting point as also crown the end of this stage of inquiry in art. Tied for one same Property, in principle intangible to thejudgment, Processes and Works served themseves of the stories that PrecursoryBelongings had told to bring to the conscience this Property, to reveal the methods of this union, as well as inventing they own narrative. One was undertaken then into a strange reverse epic of discovery,from the place of the exotic turned to usual, to the place of the reason tranfigured in a fancy whim, where renascence and baroque collections and collectors appear, the Mirabilia become Unheimliche and the admitted errors turn into inquiry procedures. Like many stories of journeys and wonders of XVI and XVII centuries, one fulfilled the way of the immovable traveller, whose path was paved with the remnants of others as many speeches or, in the eventual gaps, to the imagination remained the task to sew the necessary bridges.

Abstract:
Con una cámara frente a los ojos empieza actualmente la vida de la mayoría de individuos del mundo occidental. Desde antes de nacer, la vida de las personas es registrada en cada uno de sus pasos evolutivos. Cada instante de la existencia es transformado en una imagen fija y cada expresión del rostro es atrapada por la cámara fotográfica para ser conservada a través del tiempo. Mientras las formas de nuestro cuerpo varían y nuestro rostro se transforma, el lente fotográfico bloquea la posibilidad del cambio y reproduce situaciones de otra forma imposibles de recordar. Explicar lo visto o describir lo experimentado por medio de las fotografías se ha convertido en un vicio del que ya no sabemos como liberarnos, y la realidad ha quedado supeditada al testimonio irrefutable de su representación. Fenómenos como las selfies y las redes sociales se han impuesto como los mecanismos por excelencia para valorar nuestra percepción. Con la tecnología digital las posibilidades de la imagen se expanden hacia nuevos horizontes. Los límites, hasta ahora delineados por la realidad material, se desvanecen dejando en evidencia la supuesta neutralidad y veracidad adjudicada a la fotografía. Resulta entonces una ardua labor distinguir la realidad de la ficción y establecer con claridad los parámetros de referencia sobre los cuales construir nuestra identidad. Dentro del vasto universo de preguntas que dicha situación desata, la presente comunicación tiene como objetivo indagar de qué manera esta ambivalencia, entre realidad y ficción, hace de la fotografía un ámbito ideal para la emergencia de dudas e inquietudes de difícil definición; sensaciones de incomodidad que despiertan en el espectador la manifestación de lo siniestro, según la definición freudiana (Das Unheimliche). A partir de las principales teorías fotográficas y las aportaciones de pensadores como Didi-Huberman o Jean Clair, entre otros, se analizarán las series Immediate Family (1984 – 1994) y 20.12.53 – 10.08.04 (2004 – actualidad) de las artistas Sally Mann y Moira Ricci, respectivamente. Se indagará de qué manera la supuesta veracidad de la fotografía –así como su estrecho vínculo con la memoria– nos lleva hacia un encuentro directo con la muerte y el vacío que la acompaña y cómo, por medio de la representación de la infancia y la familia, hasta las imágenes aparentemente más inocuas son capaces de atravesar las barreras de protección del individuo dejando al descubierto sus más profundos temores. Las nuevas posibilidades de relación, conocimiento e interacción con la realidad circunstante –tanto como con nosotros mismos y con los demás– desatadas por la tecnología digital y por Internet, así como la crisis de los valores característicos de la cultura burgués, nos llevan hacia una búsqueda indefinida de nuevos parámetros de comportamiento a partir de los cuales fijar nuestra propia identidad. La fotografía, adquiere entonces un rol protagónico dentro de esta ciega indagación imponiéndose como una vía de acceso privilegiada hacia las angustias, deseos e incertidumbres características del sujeto contemporáneo.

Abstract:
Este Working paper saca a la luz del conocimiento un manuscrito poético inédito del siglo XVIII que narra, en versos de arte menor, el asesinato del secretario del virrey del Nuevo Reino de Granada en 1780. Este objeto de estudio constituye la primera parte de una extensa elegía cuya conclusión ya fue estudiada y publicada en la década de 1970 y se concentra en describir el castigo a los delincuentes. Como pregunta de investigación, el trabajo indaga cómo este inédito artefacto literario representa la violencia en el Nuevo Reino de Granada. Se explora, además, cómo reputados historiadores y académicos describen las características socioeconómicas de la época para relacionar y entender mejor el contenido del poema con el contexto social en el que se inscribe. Como sustento teórico, el texto retoma la noción freudiana del unheimlich para discutir sobre la perplejidad que produce ver tratado un tema tan macabro en una forma poética. También se consideran las observaciones de Michel Foucault sobre el castigo y la función de los cuerpos sobre los que éste se inflige. Finalmente, se discute el aporte del historiador William Cronon quien reconoce el poder de silenciar unas voces y privilegiar otras, según la agenda ideológica de quien crea o narra una historia. Como conclusión, se observa el fuerte papel de la religión en la incorporación del perdón y la misericordia divina como ingrediente fundamental para mitigar la severidad del castigo. Se propone que tal elemento de fe forma parte protagónica de la narración como una forma de expiar el hecho de que el castigo sea aún más cruel y descarnado que la forma como se describe el crimen mismo.
