Abstract:
The SGSN-MME node, which is important in wireless networks, handles many users and therefore the uptime requirements for it are very high. The goal at Ericsson is to reach 99.9999% uptime for their SGSN-MME nodes and to reach this a lot of testing is required. Therefore the test process during the SGSN-MME development is both resource expensive and time consuming. To optimize both resource utilization and test runtimes a common test node pool solution for their different test tools has been proposed. Information about the failed node is provided to users with registered mobile device through the Global System for Mobile (GSM) module. Abstract:
This report explores the design of a system for remotely switching electronics on and off within a range of at least 15 km, to be used with battery driven radio nodes for outdoor Wi-Fi network bridging. The application of the network bridges are connecting to remote networks, should Internet infrastructure fail during an emergency. The problem statement for the report was “What is a suitable radio link technology for use in a remote controlled electrical switch system and how should it best be put to use?” To answer the question, delimitation was done to exploring Low Power Wide Area Network (L

<p>In the environment of the 3:rd generation Internet based on peer-to-peer architecture, well-trusted methods must exist to establish a secure environment. One main issue is the possibility to verify that a node actually is who it claims to be (authentication). Establishment of authentication between nodes in a peer-to-peer environment where nodes are exchanging information directly with each other requires more planning than in a typical client-server environment where the authentication methods are server-based. The peer-to-peer applications described in this report use authentication metho

In mammalian hearts, initiation of the heartbeat occurs in a region of specialised pacemaker cells known as the sinoatrial node (SAN). The SAN is a highly complex spatially distributed structure which displays considerable cellular heterogeneity and is subject to complex electrotonic interactions with the surrounding atrial tissue. In this study, biophysically detailed ionic models of central and peripheral SAN pacemaker cells are described. These models are able to accurately reproduce experimental recordings of the membrane potential from central and peripheral SAN tissue. These models are

This thesis deals with different parallelizations of training procedure for artificial neural networks. The networks are trained as phoneme-state acoustic descriptors for speech recognition. Two effective parallelization strategies were implemented and compared. The first strategy is data parallelization, where the training is split into several POSIX threads. The second strategy is node parallelization, which uses CUDA framework for general purpose computing on modern graphic cards. The first strategy showed a 4x speed-up, while using the second strategy we observed nearly 10x speed-up. The S

This thesis describes the design and implementation of Chitra95, a software system developed for the visualization and analysis of time-series trace data. Chitra95 is based upon two earlier generations of Chitra and is aimed at producing a system with broad applicability and utility in this area of research. This thesis contributes to the area of software design for trace visualization and analysis by proposing a set of design principles towards achieving the goals of system extensibility, reusability, reliability, testability and verifiability. These design principles are demonstrated by C
