This thesis treats concept of autonomous temperature, relative humidity and pressure USB datalogger. Also there is explained datalogger function, hardware design with respect on device consumption and design of chassis. Furthermore, there is described communication protocol for control and reading out data by the PC. Furthermore, there are described firmware drivers for some used components and modules for USB communication, RTC and data compression. A necessidade de registar dados de vários acontecimentos e recolher medidas efectuadas por sensores é comum a diversas aplicações. De forma a facilitar o seu registo e recolha de dados em áreas como a saúde, indústria, domótica, meteorologia e outras, foram desenvolvidos mecanismos analógicos e, mais recentemente, digitais para suprir essas necessidades, vulgarmente designados por DataLoggers. Um DataLogger consiste num dispositivo que recebe dados de um ou vários sensores, processa esses dados e finalmente os armazena em formato digital. Este trabalho tem como objectivo o desenvolvimento de um dispositivo genérico de armazenamento de dados que permita uma fácil recolha dos mesmos. Assim, a ligação com os sensores poder ser efectuada com vários protocolos série e durante o processamento dos dados é inserida uma etiqueta temporal relativa à sua recolha, para que os dados possam ser sincronizados com os dados de outros sensores. No final são armazenados numa PenDrive USB genérica. Embora não seja focado para uma aplicação específica, o DataLogger desenvolvido terá uso imediato no projecto de investigação denominado INSHORE financiado pela FCT.
The need to record data from various events and collect measurements from sensors is common to many applications. To facilitate data recording in areas such as health, industry, home automation, meteorology among others, analog and, more recently, digital devices (generally denominated DataLoggers) have been developed to overcome these needs. A DataLogger is a device that receives data from one or more sensors, processes and, finally, stores it in a digital format. This work aims to the development of a generic device for storing data which is very flexible and of simple operation. Therefore, the connection with the sensors will consider different serial protocols. During the processing stage, a time tag is inserted into the data for time synchronization with other sensors. The data storage is made in a generic USB PenDrive. Although not focused on a specific application, the developed DataLogger has immediate use in the FCT research project named INSHORE.

Abstract:
Höganäs AB has a customer center where they perform their cutomers production processes usingtheir own metal powder, thereby gaining knowledge of how the powder behaves and how it can be improved. The powder is usually pressed, and then sintered in a sintering furnace where temperature and atmosphere composition gives the component its desired characteristics. Höganäs AB didn’t save the parameters from these process’s in a easily accessible way, some values were not saved at all. To increase understanding of these parameters impact on the produced detail they wanted these parameters collected and stored in the cloud. They also wanted solution ideas and concepts for implementation of weight measuring on both the in- and output side of the furnace. This project used Ulrich & Eppinger’s product development method, modified by performing continous testing parallell to the design process. The project was also separated into three parts worked on simultaneously. Computer architecture, physical casing and weight measuring. To compile and upload to the cloud a Raspberry Pi 3 B+, a micro processor, was used. It connected via WiFi to upload files to OneDrive. The measured values from the furnace were gathered from the furnace’s PLC via OPCUA and a gas measuring unit via serial communication. Because of the use of metal powder there was conductive dust in the air which could lead to leakage currents and short circuiting if it were to gather on the processor unit. Hence the dust had to be keptaway. The casing was therefore designed to be relatively airtight. The casing was made with 3D-printed PETG. The seal utilized PETG’s elasticity to elastically deform an elevated seal, and thereby sealing the casing, without having to produce more components than a bottom and a lid. The cable feedthrough used the cables elastic deformation to seal. A screen was implemented to start and stop logging processes, which was also sealed using an overlapping lip around it’s rim. The logging of the furnace parameters was split in two logs, a day-log and a job-log. The daylog took measurements continously over a day in long intervals, 30 minutes. At the end of the day a log was uploaded for that day, hence the name. The job-log had to be started manually via the screen and was used to take measurements with higher frequency during a production series. Log files of both types were uploaded to a OneDrive folder. The product was tested with a number of final tests, both for the casing and the software. The casing was tested primarily for the numerical requirements set in the requirements specification. While the software was tested over a longer period of time to ensure functionality.The final product was a sealed, robust, easily disassembled and cable strain relieved 3D-printed box with a 3.5 inch touchscreen and a connected keyboard. It collected the desired data and compiled it to log files readable by programs such as Microsoft Excel. The weight measuring concept produced was a self-made solution with load cells under the loading ramp. The weight is then measured automatically during the regular loading process without disrupting it. Two backup solutions were also put forward.

Um datalogger é um dispositivo capaz de recolher dados relativos a acontecimentos que surgem em seu redor, através da comunicação com sensores, estejam estes a operar de forma standalone ou sejam estes parte integrante de um sistema mais complexo. No caso em estudo, desenvolveu-se um datalogger dedicado a monitorização de uma bomba de calor da Bosch, equipamento responsável por transferir energia de uma fonte fria para uma fonte quente, contra o gradiente de temperatura. O objetivo final deste datalogger é integrar um largo espectro de dispositivos da Bosch, que utilizam um protocolo de comunicação proprietário. Todo o processo de monitorização é feito através da análise de informações recolhidas por uma ECU (Electronic Control Unit), elemento constituinte da bomba de calor. Adicionalmente, a implementação deste datalogger teve que respeitar certas condições chave, apresentando como características imperativas a versatilidade, o baixo consumo energético, a capacidade de ligação a internet, capacidade de armazenamento de dados, a configuração remota e, a de se basear numa plataforma open-source. Numa primeira fase, perante a ausência de equipamentos para teste, implementou-se um emulador em MATLAB capaz de simular os dados operacionais da bomba de calor. Após a receção do material, o projeto do datalogger evoluiu e inúmeras funcionalidades foram adicionadas: A utilização da plataforma Xively ofereceu a possibilidade de controlo e monitorização remotos. Através desta, o controlo de alguns parâmetros do datalogger, bem como a consulta de informação relativa a bomba de calor, ficaram disponíveis remotamente.
A datalogger is a device capable of gathering event related data from activities that take place in its surroundings, throughout communication with sensor units, operating as standalone devices or integrating part of a more complex system. This document is refered to the implementation of a datalogger that is capable of monitoring and control a heat pump system from Bosch, which is the equipment responsible for transferring energy from a cold source to a hot source, against the temperature gradient. This datalogger is able to integrate a wide range of different devices from Bosch which use a particular and proprietary communication protocol. The general monitoring process is achieved by analizing the operational data related to the heat pump, retrieved by an ECU (Electronic Control Unit), a constitutive element of the heat Pum PAdditionally, this datalogger had to respect certain key conditions, having as main features the versatility, the ability to connect to the internet wirelessly, remote configuration, its low consumption, its storage capability and by having as base of development, an opensource platform. In the early stages of this project, before the impossibility to access a real ECU, a MATLAB emulator was created in order to simulate the behavior of a heat pump. After having received the real ECU, the project evolved and severa1 functionalities were added: The Xively platform offered the possibility of remote monitoring and control of the heat pump. Through it, it was possible to remotely change specific datalogger parameters and to verifying information regarding the ECU.

This thesis describes the design of the data datalogger for collecting the operating data of the machine tool. Dataloggers and data acquisition systems are used in scientific research as well as in the industry for recording and analyzing large amounts of data. The control unit of the proposed system is the National Instruments CompactRIO platform. System software is created in the LabVIEW programming environment and uses both the FPGA circuit and the real-time processor of the control unit. Measured data are stored on the unit and in the database. The measurement status is reported via email.

Abstract:
O presente trabalho reporta o esforço empenhado para relacionar nível d\'água e vazão, fazendo uso exclusivamente de medições de nível, em campo, durante a passagem de ondas de cheia através de um trecho de canal prismático situado no perímetro urbano da cidade de São Carlos, SP denominado Córrego do Gregório. Montagens para coleta de dados em campo foram testadas e foi utilizada a modelagem hidrodinâmica 1-D para a resolução das equações de Saint-Venant, através do método implícito de quatro pontos de Preissmann. Apesar do potencial do método, já apontado por alguns autores, o presente trabalho reporta dificuldades na realização de medições e também problemas na modelagem de trecho de canal com características muito particulares. Várias análises foram realizadas tais como a verificação do número de passos de tempo necessário para minimização dos efeitos da condição inicial imposta (IQ1), a verificação da celeridade de uma onda de cheia analisando os picos dos eventos e assim determinar o coeficiente de cisalhamento de Manning proposto por Aricò, Nasello e Tucciarelli (2009) e o método implícito na resolução das equações de SV proposto por Jin, Coran e Cook (2004), que funciona como um filtro baseado no número de Froude (condição do tipo de escoamento) também foi testado. Durante o evento do dia 23/03/2013 foi estimado as velocidades em campo. Para cada um dos 12 eventos registrados foi realizado uma simulação utilizando o modelo hidrodinâmico e o melhor resultado foi utilizado em uma segunda simulação para comparar as lâminas d\'água observadas e calculadas. Ao analisar o quanto os valores de erros máximos absolutos (ERMAX1 e ERMAX2) representam em relação ao máximo registro obtido no evento, em porcentagem, têm-se eventos com 3,6% até valores absurdos de 27,1%. Assim, trata-se de um trabalho teórico-experimental que oferece subsídios importantes para futuros trabalhos nessa direção.
This work reports the committed effort to relate water level and flow, using exclusively field measurements of level, during the passage of flood waves through a prismatic channel stretch located on the surroundings of São Carlos - SP called stream of Gregório. Assembles for data gathering in the field were tested and it was used 1-D hydrodynamic modeling for solving equations of Saint-Venant, through the four points Preissmann implicit method. Despite the potential of this method, as pointed out by some authors, this study reports difficulties in performing measurements and to model a channel stretch with very particular characteristics. Several analyzes were performed such as checking the number of time steps needed for minimizing the effects of the initial condition imposed (IQ1), verifying the celerity of a full wave analyzing the peaks of events and so to be able to determine the Manning friction coefficient proposed by Arico et al. (2009) and the implicit method to solve the S-V equations proposed by Jin, Coran e Cook (2004), which acts as a filter based on the Froude number (condition-type flow), was also tested. During the event of the day 23/03/2013 was estimated speeds in the field. For each of the 12 recorded events a simulation was made using a hydrodynamic model and the best result was used in a simulation to compare the second water depths observed and calculated. By analyzing how the values of maximum absolute errors (ERMAX1 and ERMAX2) account for the highest recording obtained at the event, in percentage, have been events with 3.6% until absurd values from 27.1%. So, it is a theoretical-experimental that offers important information for future work in this direction.

Thesis discusses bearings failure detection that is manifesting with increased levels of vibration and acoustic emission. The first part of my work gives introduction to common disorders arising on bearings during operation and negative effects on the bearing condition. Further the thesis makes the reader familiar with the terms of vibration and acoustic emission. The work includes a description of available methods for signal evaluation of vibration and acoustic emissions in order to diagnose the state of the bearings in the domains of time and frequency. In the practical part is explained the vibrodiagnostic concept with focus on bearing endurance test. Part of this practical test is a balance sheet for hardware with marginal parametres and a software description. The work is complemented with sorted database of processed topics from the magazine Orbit Bentley Nevada.

Abstract:
In the trees, water moves through a negative pressure gradient established between roots and leaves, through a network of xylem cells whose length can reach the order of magnitude of 100 meters in the higher plants on the planet. The grandeur of the transport system involves the need for the plant to implement some tricks to cope with the increasing hydraulic resistance related with the dramatic lengthening of the water path throughout the ontogeny. That is to say that the increase in plant height is accompanied by a consequent increase of the total hydraulic resistance within the xylem conduits. The most effective solution to contain the increase of hydraulic resistance seems to be the tapering of the conduit elements. The introduction by WBE (West, Brown, Enquist 1997, 1999) model of the hypothesis of universality of the degree of xylem conduit tapering in vascular plants, leads to introduce a threshold value of the "optimal" degree of tapering such that the hydraulic resistance of a path is approximately constant regardless of its length (the conduit is always potentially capable of growing). It was therefore suggested that the nature of hydraulic limitations to growth in plant height may be the result of a sub-optimality of the degree of tapering caused by the physical inability to increase cell diameter at the base indefinitely. Alternatively, it is possible that a sub-optimality of the overall transportation system can occur at some point of the development in height (and therefore in length and volume of xylem conduits) due to the impossibility of maintaining a state of optimum equilibrium of the conduction system, designed as a transport network optimized (Banavar, Maritan, Rinaldo 1999) when the volume of service inside the network and the hydraulic resistance resulting in the displacement of this volume, are both minimized in a logical solution of a minimum equilibrium bound problem. One of the objectives of this work has been put together two of the main models proposed recently to the attention of the scientific community (the WBE model and the model BMR) and to collect them in the development of a new unique model, to try to answer the fundamental question implied in this research topic: "which factors causes the plants to stop growing in height?".
All'interno degli alberi, l'acqua si muove per mezzo di un gradiente negativo di pressione, che si instaura tra le radici e le foglie, attraverso una rete di cellule xilematiche la cui lunghezza può raggiungere l'ordine di grandezza di 100 metri nelle piante più alte del pianeta. Questa imponenza del sistema di trasporto comporta la necessità da parte della pianta di porre in atto degli stratagemmi per far fronte alla crescente resistenza idraulica che si sviluppa assieme al drastico allungamento di percorso idrico durante tutta l'ontogenesi. Vale a dire che l'aumento in altezza delle piante è accompagnato da un conseguente aumento di resistenza idraulica all'interno dello xilema. La più efficace delle soluzioni per contenere questo aumento di resistenza idraulica sembrerebbe essere la rastremazione degli elementi di conduzione. L'introduzione da parte del modello WBE (West, Brown, Enquist 1997, 1999) dell'ipotesi di universalità del grado di rastremazione dei condotti xilematici nelle piante vascolari, porta ad introdurre una soglia di rastremazione "ottimale" tale da rendere all'incirca costante la resistenza idraulica di un percorso a prescindere dalla sua lunghezza (potenzialmente sempre suscettibile di crescita). E' stato dunque ipotizzato che le limitazioni di natura idraulica alla crescita in altezza delle piante possano essere conseguenti all'insorgere di una sub-ottimalità del grado di rastremazione dei condotti proveniente dall'impossibilità fisica di aumentare indefinitamente il loro diametro alla base, od in alternativa che una sub-ottimalità generale del sistema di trasporto idraulico all'interno della pianta possa manifestarsi ad un certo punto dello sviluppo in altezza (e quindi in lunghezza ed in volume dei condotti xilematici) in conseguenza alla non possibilità di mantenimento di uno stato d'equilibrio ottimo del sistema di conduzione, pensato come una rete di trasporto ottimizzata (Banavar, Maritan, Rinaldo 1999) in cui il volume di servizio presente all'interno della rete e la resistenza idraulica conseguente allo spostamento di tale volume, siano entrambi minimizzati in una logica di soluzione d'equilibrio di minimo vincolato. Uno degli obiettivi di questo lavoro è stato mettere assieme due dei principali modelli recentemente proposti all'attenzione della comunità scientifica (il modello WBE ed il modello BMR) e di raccogliere nello sviluppo di un nuovo unico modello di scala le ipotesi e le intuizioni principali dei due, per cercare di dare una risposta alla domanda fondamentale sott'intesa in questo argomento di ricerca: "per l'insorgenza di quali fattori le piante smettono di crescere in altezza?".

This work deals with hardware and software solution for the temperature converter of the standard rezistance temperature Ni sensors with the output through the Ethernet, driven by the Rabbit microcontroller. First part of this thesis deals with the theory of the temperature measurement. There are introduced basic principles of the temperature sensors. In the next part of the work are introduced communication standard and application protocol Modbus. The rest of the work deals with the hardware concept of the converter, the control program of the converter and the program developed for the PC.

Abstract:
CubeSat designers are increasingly looking to incorporate delicate structures and optics into their payloads. These delicate payloads, however, may not survive the required absolute-worst-case launch vibration testing needed for flight certification. To help address this problem, and to better match testing conditions to real-world launch environments, this thesis introduces Sync, a compact 1/4U CubeSat payload designed to collect data on the vibrations and thermal environments CubeSats experience inside a deployer on the way to orbit. This data can be used to better understand the launch environment for different vehicles, and help develop new, more realistic testing guidelines that could enable more delicate payloads to be launched.

Content of the Bachelor Thesis covers design and realisation of an unit for multipoint temperature measuring in cooling and freezing equipments in food stores and shops. As a controlling microcomputer is used an Atmel ATMega128, temperature sensors are realised by DS18S20 digital thermometers, connected via 1-wire bus. Unit can read temperature from 32 temperature sensors, includes memory for measured data, real time clock, Ethernet interface and display with buttons for basic user control. Temperatures are measured periodically with user defined interval, values are stored into internal memory and showed on display. Measured data can also be transferred via Ethernet to clinent PC, where can be viewed in form of table and graphs.

This thesis deals with the design of overall concept of distributed system which is used for temperature, pressure and humidity measurement. The system is adapted to be used in instrument transformers and sensors production hall of ABB s.r.o. Brno. Firstly, the requirements for the measuring system are defined. After that market research focused on sensors and measurement modules is performed. The selected sensor is afterwards built into own measurement module for which hardware and software part is designed. The work continues with design of local and remote database of measured values. Besides, the PC software used for local and remote data storage is designed afterwards. The components of the measurement system are tested in the final part of the thesis.

Compete with the players in the Market is not easy, however starturps have been assuming an important role in the global economy. In this perspective, this work aims to show the potential of a startup and its technology, compared to market players and their similar technologies, mainly aspects such as technological, financial and marketing viability. To achieve this goal, we chose an research, based on methodologies and approaches: agile, entrepreneurs and innovative, from bibliographic and digital references, as well as experiences in innovation environments. In this way, we seek to describe the similar meteorological technologies in Brazil and in the world, as well as the representatives and manufacturers of these technologies, within the scope of current meteorological stations and dataloggers. Moreover, we seek to present the startup and developed technology relating to market players and their existing similar technologies, taking into account issues of technological and financial feasibility and to analyze the applications of the technology developed considering startup and its target markets as well as other sectors. Thus, based on the validations and proofs of concept, it can be stated that the startup and its product/service has the potential to compete with market players.

The subject of the diploma thesis is the analysis of water consumption in the area of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. The main part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the measured data, which are recorded using a data logger located on the VF2 billing water meter. The processing of consumption curves is focused on individual working days, for days with or without instruction. From the results of the individual analyzes, maximum hourly limits are set for signaling of undesirable sampling states. In the end, the Smart Water Meters principle is introduced in the Czech Republic and abroad and a technical solution for the replacement of all billing water meters in the FAST area with new smart meters has been made.

Fysikundervisningen i gymnasieskolan anses av många som tråkig och svår. Ett sätt att försöka göra fysiken både roligare och mer begripbar är att använda en av fysikens fundamentala arbetssätt, laborationer. Ett modernt sätt att laborera kan vara att använda dataloggers, en mätvärdesbehandlare som via en dator presenterar laborationsresultaten i form av värdetabeller och grafer. Med hjälp av elevenkäter och lärarintervjuer på två gymnasieskolor, skall denna undersökning försöka ta reda på vad lärare och elever som jobbat med denna utrustning i gymnasieskolan anser. Resultatet visar att dataloggers kan vara ett bra komplement till vanliga laborationer om ekonomin tillåter och om man som lärare är beredd att lägga ned den tid som krävs för att behärska utrustningen. Det finns dock ett huvudproblem, det kan bli för mycket datorkrångel, speciellt om inte eleverna får väl anpassade instruktioner eller om laborationerna är så få eller förekommer så sällan att eleverna inte hinner bli någorlunda förtrogen med handhavandet.

Dataloggern DL141E möjliggör kontinuerlig loggnig av mätdata från sensorer på upp till 30k sampel/s, som vidare kan överföras till mobiltelefoner via trådlös kommunikation. Detta är dock för stora datamängder per tidsenhet för mobiltelefoner som är tekniskt begränsade. Därför önskas bara relevant mätdata för att reducerar denna onödiga datamängd. I denna studie föreslås ett tillvägagångssätt där enspecifik mindre samling av diskreta försampel loggas i tur och ordning. Varje samling signalbehandlas genom att ställas mot fördefinierade triggningskriterier för att trigga loggning av en stor uppsättning av sampel på bara intressanta signalavvikelser. Dessa triggningskriterier är en särskild nivåöverskridning och signalriktning i kombination med ett antal sampel i följd. Studien förser en granskning av hur signalberäkningsmetoden ”Lebesgue sampling” kan tillämpas med kriterierna för god träffsäkerhet och en skälig beräkningstid i mobiltelefoner. Detta beaktas med dataloggerns vanligaste signaltyper puls och ramp i en miljö där småbrus och transienter förekommer. Träffsäkerheten och beräkningsbördan beaktasför att bedöma Lebesgue metodens effektivitet och antal nödvändiga försampel per uppsättning. Implementeringen görs i Java Android plattform och integreras därefter i en digital triggningsmodul med Graphical User Interface (GUI).
With the data logger DL141E it’s possible to continuously log measurement data from sensors up to 30k samples per second, and then transferring them to a mobile phone with Bluetooth technology. But this is by far too much sample data in a small time for a mobile phone with technical limitations to receive. That’s why only relevant measurement data should be mass logged to reduce the unnecessary data amount. Int his study a new approach is proposed where a specific and smaller amount of discrete pre-samples are logged in sequence. Every set of pre-samples is processed by comparing them to the user pre-defined trigger criterias. Met criterias will trigger logging of a massive set of samples on basis of only interesting signal deviations. The following trigger criterias are used: a specific signal level to cross, a specific signal direction, and both of these in combination with an amount of consecutive samples. The study provides an examination on how the signal processing method ”Lebesgue sampling” can be applied with the above criterias to achieve a god accuracy with reasonable processing time on mobile phones. This is observed using sensors with the most common signal types ramp and pulse in an environment where small noises and transients occur. The accuracy and the processing load are taken into account when estimating the efficiency of Lebesgue method and when estimating how many pre-samples per set might be sufficient. The implementation is written in Java Android platform and then integrated into a digital triggering module with Graphical User Interface (GUI).

The first part of the thesis describes balistic recovery systems, their parts as well as methods of testing this devices. In the second charter there is a description of older vision of a testing device and simple test with the electronics of the testing device. The next step is designing of the new koncept of testing device and the structure analysis of the frame. The product of the thesis is a modular automated testing device, which is able to test balistic recovery systems for aicrafts with the weights between 230 and 1700 kilograms.

The aim of this thesis is to perform an analysis of possibilities and benefits of installing the Smart Water Metering technology at campus of Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. The main goal was to provide specific solutions of Smart Metering systems from different companies. One part of this thesis is dedicated to a detailed analysis of a water consumption measurement campaign that took place at the beginning of this academic year using dataloggers. Real-time flow rate and consumed volume was recorded every five minutes. Therefore it was possible to determine water consumption patterns during the day and also tell the minimum, maximum and average flow rate in different parts of the campus. Thanks to these measurements, irregular water consumption during the night was observed. This would not have been easily detected without recording real-time data. This system of recording real-time flow rates with dataloggers is considered to be suitable for the needs of faculty. Thanks to a GSM module, recorded values are sent to an FTP server once a day. From there the data can be downloaded to any kind of analysis software. Installation of Smart Water Metering technology at campus of Faculty of Civil Engineering would be beneficial for both operation of the water supply network and also for purposes of an academic research.

This paper deals with the hardware and software design of the data acquisition distributed system with large amount of connected sensors. The intended application of this work is measuring some physical quantities in the building constructions. The designed system is hierarchically divided into the three levels. On the highest level there is a single-board computer Raspberry Pi which is used as a master on RS-485 bus. There can be up to 32 slave devices on the bus while each of them collects data from the sensors connected to 4-channel I2C bus. At the same time the Raspberry Pi is used as a web server, providing the user interface of the system.

This master’s thesis deals with the design of autonomous monitoring system electronics which will be used for diagnostics of the electromagnetic vibration generator developed at Brno University of Technology. This generator should be used in a practical application where frequent mechanical shocks are present, for example in vehicle or goods transportation. For such an application, the goal of the monitoring system is to find out whether generator is capable of producing enough electrical energy for smooth operation of wireless sensors used in similar applications. The first part of the thesis consists of the autonomous diagnostics system overview from both commercial and scientific spheres, brief description of the vibration generator used and also a summary of commercially available power management electronics. The next chapters present the detailed description of each functional element of energy harvesting system, the simulation of generator’s behaviour for optimal load in three different model applications and the most important part – design of the autonomous monitoring system. In the end, achieved results are evaluated and it is considered whether the shock-driven generator is suitable for use in a given application.

Le prestazioni e la densità di integrazione dei circuiti integrati hanno avuto una incredibile crescita negli ultimi decenni. Questo incredibile sviluppo ha portato ad una enorme crescita delle applicazioni dei circuiti elettronici, fino ad arrivare a pensare di poter rendere “smart” e connesso ad Internet ogni oggetto di uso comune, grazie alla cosiddetta “Internet of Things”. In questo panorama trovano dunque sempre maggior spazio i sensori, indispensabili al fine di monitorare i parametri d’interesse negli oggetti da controllare. Un altro aspetto molto importante è quello di ridurre il consumo dei dispositivi. Gli oggetti da connettere ad internet nella maggior parte dei casi saranno infatti da alimentare a batteria. Lo scopo di questo elaborato è quello di sviluppare un nodo sensore con annesso un datalogger mediante l’utilizzo di un microcontrollore. L’obiettivo principale è di ridurne il consumo al minimo, con correnti di standby dell’ordine delle decine di nA, così da poter alimentare tale circuito per un periodo di diversi anni con la batteria più piccola possibile. Il circuito sarà non solo progettato ma anche realizzato su PCB, al fine di poterne collaudare il funzionamento reale e di poterlo confrontare con quello previsto. Un dispositivo di questo tipo, oltre ad essere un utile caso di studio per mostrare i valori minimi di consumo verso i quali sia possibile spingersi, potrebbe trovare applicazione in situazioni in cui si renda necessario monitorare determinati parametri in condizioni tali da rendere difficoltosa la sostituzione della batteria e quindi anche il monitoraggio real-time che richiederebbe necessariamente un maggior consumo. Il progetto si compone di un microcontrollore che, oltre a gestire la lettura di un sensore, si occupa di implementare la funzione di datalogger. Un altro componente fondamentale è un timer, avente lo scopo di gestire il periodo di attività del µC.

Målet med undersökningen har varit att undersöka möjligheten att ta fram en kostnadseffektiv lösning för att mäta flöden i slutna rörsystem. Anledningen till att kontaktlösa metoder valts för arbetet är dess egen-skaper att kunna installeras utan att göra ingrepp i ledningarna eller på något sätt påverka det flödande mediet i dessa. Utrustning skall inhand-las och testas i fält. I underökningen ingår det även att ta fram en lämplig metod för att trådlöst överföra insamlat mätdata till valfri IT-miljö och där kunna presentera mätdata på ett översiktligt sätt i ett övervaknings-system samt använda mätdatat till olika statistiska beräkningar. Det hu-vudsakliga applikationsområdet som undersöks är läckageindikering i dricksvattenledningsnät. Anledningen till detta är att många kommuner inte har råd att investera i dyr mätutrustning för övervakning och för dem kan det vara intressant med ett billigt system som är relativt enkelt att installera och implementera i deras befintliga övervakningssystem. Re-sultat av en enkätundersökning som gjorts i samband med undersök-ningen har visat att intresset är stort hos kommunerna, men den visar även att övervakning av vattenledningsnäten med vissa traditionella me-toder kommer att bli svårare i framtiden i och med den stigande andelen plaströr i ledningsnäten. Fälttester av inköpt mätutrustning visar att den skulle kunna implementeras och fungera som flödesövervakning i led-ningsnät. Även fast dess mätnoggrannhet var under det förväntade så vi-sade utrustningen på god linjäritet.
The aim of the survey has been to investigate the possibilities of using a cost-effective solution for measuring flows in closed pipes. Non-intrusive measuring methods are chosen because it’s able to install them without interfering the flow in- or alter- the pipe in any way. Equipment will be purchased and field tested during the time of the survey. The survey also includes investigating suitable methods for wirelessly transmitting col-lected data to an IT-environment, and using measurement data for sur-veillance purposes and various statistical calculations. The main applica-tion area investigated is leakage indication in drinking water pipeline net-works, the reason being that many municipalities can’t afford to invest in expensive measuring equipment and they may be interested in an inex-pensive system that is relatively easy to install and implement in their existing monitoring system. The results of a poll conducted in connection with the survey have shown that there is considerable interest among the municipalities, but it also shows that monitoring of the water supply net-works with traditional methods may become more difficult in the future, the main reason for this seems to be the increasing amount of plastic pipe-lines in the pipeline networks. Field tests of the purchased equipment show that it may be suitable to implement as flow measuring device with the purpose of leakage monitoring, even though its measurement accu-racy was below expected it still shows good linearity.

The thesis is aimed on construction of solar panel powered datalogger of environmental values. The thesis begins by research of commercial dataloggers. Then the concept of datalogger was created. Then the electronics of datalogger was designed. Datalogger is built as a system driven by microcontroller. The microcontroller reads data from sensors, writes data to memory card and sends data to Czech radiocommunications cloud by LoRa technology. Then the data are resend to MySQL database. Program for microcontroller was made in C language. Configuration of datalogger is done through USB interface by PC application which was created in C# language. For visualisation of measured data ASP.NET Core application was created.

La creciente necesidad de que, tanto los científicos como los técnicos medioambientales, conozcan los diversos aspectos de la ecología de los animales para proponer acciones de conservación adecuadas, ha promovido el desarrollo de técnicas y herramientas que permitan desentrañar algunas de las incógnitas que envuelven a un nuevo paradigma emergente; la "ecología del movimiento", enfocada a estudiar todo tipo de movimientos realizados por todo tipo de organismos. Poco a poco, y sobre todo en las últimas décadas, las nuevas tecnologías de seguimiento remoto aplicadas al estudio del movimiento animal han permitido llevar a cabo nuevas y modernas investigaciones con una amplia gama de enfoques científicos especializados para estudiar los diferentes movimientos llevados a cabo por grupos específicos de organismos. En las aves, la aplicación de estas técnicas ha aportado multitud de nueva información sobre el uso del hábitat y del espacio y, sobre todo, ha permitido el seguimiento de las especies a lo largo de sus movimientos migratorios y en las áreas de invernada, aportando gran cantidad de información en estas etapas de su ciclo biológico muy desconocidas hasta la aplicación de estas técnicas. El Cernícalo primilla (Falco naumanni) es una pequeña rapaz migratoria que estuvo muy amenazada debido a un fuerte declive de sus poblaciones ocurrido a finales del siglo pasado, llegando a extinguirse en muchas localidades a lo largo de su rango de distribución; la situación llevo a que la especie estuviera catalogada como en “peligro” y fue objeto de numerosas investigaciones. Sin embargo, varios aspectos sobre su biología básica seguían siendo desconocidos. Por ejemplo, aunque el conocimiento sobre la migración y la invernada había mejorado en los últimos años con la utilización de geolocalizadores, esta técnica puede generar grandes errores (hasta unos pocos cientos de kilómetros) en la estimación de la ubicación de un ave y no es posible mapear las rutas e inquirir su fenología migratoria con precisión. Por otro lado, la especie ha sufrido recientemente de nuevo una fuerte regresión, con registros de reducciones en poblaciones reproductoras de más del 50% de los efectivos poblacionales en solo una generación en algunas áreas de reproducción de la Península Ibérica (especialmente durante las temporadas reproductivas de 2017 y 2018). Los investigadores señalan que la principal causa de las repentinas disminuciones que se han producido en los últimos años puede deberse a los eventos que ocurren en las zonas de invernada que ocupa la especie y de las cuales no existe información detallada; sin embargo existen otros aspectos de su declive, actual y pasado, que siguen siendo controvertidos, p.ej., las posibles afecciones que causa la pérdida de hábitat asociado a la construcción de infraestructuras en hábitat prioritarios para la especie, que hemos investigado recientemente. En este trabajo de investigación, además, aportamos nuevos datos sobre la duración correcta de las migraciones del Cernícalo primilla, de las rutas migratorias exactas, de los posibles efectos de las condiciones climáticas (p.ej., el viento) durante su migración y hemos estudiado el uso del hábitat y las zonas de invernada de la especie en el Sahel. Por último, con nuestras investigaciones con un enfoque multiespecífico (trabajando con el Águila calzada Hieraaetus pennatus y el Aguilucho cenizo Circus pygargus), hemos podido describir mejor el hábitat de las rapaces en sus zonas de invernada y definir los puntos clave hacia los que focalizar los esfuerzos para conservar, no solo al Cernícalo primilla, sino a muchas rapaces migratorias transaharianas.

Currently, when there is a reduction of soil water due to drought, is appropriate measure to start systematic collection of data on soil moisture. In this work the soil moisture content was measured on the Litovicko-Šárecký brook basin near a small water reservoir Strand. The datat were collected by direct method, which mean direct soil sampling and subsequent analysis, and indirect methods concretely gathering data by TMS datalogger. Measured data from direct and indirect methods are essentially agree in this, that small water reservoir Strnad hasnt effect at soil moisture in a distance 200 m. The last part describes the analysis of grain soils using aerometrical methods. The resulting soil types are further used for calibrating the TMS datalogger.

Abstract:
In the thesis the design of the Data Storage System (DSS) is proposed with the respect to the V-Model methodology. The design is based on users requirements, from which the system requirements are created and the technical specification of the DSS is developed. In the technical specifications the functionality of the DMM and HMI DSS subsystems are described and sub-system requirements are assigned to them, then they are subdivided and assigned to individual DMM (Data memory module) and HMI hardware items. Moreover, requirements are analyzed on hardware items, specific electronic components, are selected and implemented into the block design of the DMM hardware. Based on the block design of hardware, the hardware of the DMM subsystem is designed, selectively simulated and implemented along with the printed circuit board. On the implemented hardware of the DMM subsystems measurements are performed in order to verify the basic functionality of the hardware and the calculated, assimilated and measured values are compared as well. At the end of the thesis there is a short description of the implementation of the software design and its use for basic initialization of the selected processor, together with the verification of its basic function - measuring the frequency of the internal clock sources and the clock domains. The work is completed by sending a message of defined parameters to the selected communication line and sapling it by an oscilloscope, so that the basic function of the DMM subsystem is verified.

Dagens dataloggare har många funktioner vilket avspeglas i programvaran som används för att kommunicera med dem. De har fler funktioner än vad enskilda företag och privatpersoner behöver vilket gör programvaran onödigt komplicerad. Genom att minska antalet inställningsmöjligheter kan programvaran göras mindre, snabbare och lättare att lära sig. Arbetet utfördes hos Inventech Europe AB som tillhandahöll dataloggare för temperatur- och fuktighetsmätning. De ville undersöka möjligheterna att utveckla ett program som personer med begränsad datorvana snabbt kunde lära sig att använda. Därför var syftet med detta arbete att utreda hur ett sådant program kunde se ut. Arbetets fokus låg på designprocessen. Genom olika UML-diagram visualiserades de olika momenten i processen. Då projektet var relativt litet valdes en utvecklingsprocess som följer vattenfallsmodellen där de olika stegen (specifikation, design, implementation, test) utförs i följd. Det förutsätter att ett steg är färdigt innan nästa steg påbörjas. Modellen fungerar bäst när projektet är mindre och väldefinierat. Tyvärr ändrades företagets krav på hur programmet skulle fungera flera gånger under arbetets gång. Därmed borde en mer flexibel utvecklingsprocess ha valts för att ge utrymme för förändringar som kunde uppkomma under projektets gång. Slutresultatet blev en funktionsprototyp som var lätt att använda och inte hade fler inställningsmöjligheter än nödvändigt. Funktionsprototyp kan användas som bas för att lägga till egen skräddarsydd funktionalitet. För att visa detta inkluderades ytterligare två funktioner. En av funktionerna var möjligheten att kunna spara insamlad data till en extern databas som sedan kunde användas som källa till andra program vilka exempelvis skulle kunna visualisera data med hjälp av olika grafer. För att lätt kunna identifiera olika inkopplade dataloggare inkluderades även möjligheten att namnge de olika enheterna.
Modern data loggers have many settings which is reflected in the application used to communicate with them. They have more settings than individual companies and people need which makes the application unnecessarily complicated. By reducing the number of settings, the application can be made smaller, faster and easier to learn. This bachelor thesis was done at Inventech Europe AB, who provided data loggers for temperature and moisture measurements. They wanted to explore opportunities to develop a program that people with limited computer experience could quickly learn to use. Therefore, the aim of this work is to investigate what such a program would look like. The thesis focus is on the design process. The different steps were visualized through various UML diagrams. Since the project was relatively small, a development process following the waterfall model was chosen. Following the model means completing each step (requirements specification, design, implementation, testing, etc.) in succession. It assumes that one step is completed before the next step is started. The model works best when the project is small and well defined. Unfortunately, the specification given by the company changed multiple times during development. With that in mind, a more flexible development process should have been chosen to allow for changes that may occur during the development. The end result was a program prototype that was easy to use and didn’t have more settings than necessary. The prototype can be used as a base for adding custom functionality. To show this, two additional functions was included. One of the features was the ability to save the collected data to an external database which later could be used as a data source for other application that could visualize the data using different graphs. In order to easily identify different connected data loggers, a second setting was included, enabling naming of the various loggers.

En utmaning under produktionen är uttorkning av byggfukt i byggnadens betongbjälklag. Om uttorkningen försenas kan golvbeläggningar inte appliceras i rätt tid, men att arbetet forceras är inte ett alternativ, då risken finns att fuktskador uppkommer under driftsskedet. Avgörande för att uttorkningen skall fortskrida enligt plan är att torkklimatet i byggnaden är gynnsamt för uttorkningsprocessen. För att kontrollera torkklimatet genomför företaget ett omfattande arbete genom att mäta klimatet, där dataloggar på olika platser i byggnaden registrerar luftens temperatur och relativa fuktighet. Tillsammans med trendmätningar i betong är tanken att insamlad data skall ge en bild av hur uttorkningen fortskrider. Svårigheten med torkklimat är att ämnesområdet i många avseenden är abstrakt och teoretiskt, just därför att parametrarna som beskriver torkklimatet ständigt varierar. För att insamlad data skall addera värde för produktionen måste datamängderna analyseras och visualiseras på ett tydligt sätt, som medför att produktionsledningen kan agera utifrån informationen utan att nödvändigtvis besitta spetskompetens inom ämnesområdet. Examensarbetet syftar till att bistå företaget med ökade kunskaper om torkklimat under byggproduktion, kopplat till uttorkning av byggfukt. Under arbetet har förutsättningarna för en effektiv uttorkning studerats, med avseende på torkklimatets variation. Under arbetet har också en undersökning gjorts för att ta reda på när företaget i ett generellt fall bör komplettera torkklimatet med ökad ventilation och/eller avfuktning för att hålla ett jämnt torkklimat i byggnaden året om. Som bakgrund till ämnesområdet redovisas en beskrivning av de styrande faktorerna för torkklimatet, teoretiskt och projektspecifikt. Resultatet av studien visar att förutsättningarna för en effektiv uttorkning har funnits på de platser i byggnaden som studerats, i det avseendet att en majoritet av klimattrenderna följer uppsatta kriterier i projektets fuktsäkerhetsplan.  Studien visar också att en komplettering med ökad ventilation och/eller avfuktning bör starta under perioden mars till april och under oktober till november kan uttorkningsstrategin återgå till att enbart värma inomhusluften.
A challenge during construction is drying of construction moisture in the building's concrete slab. If the drying is delayed, the flooring can’t be applied at the right time, but forcing the process is not an option, because of the risk of moisture damage during the operating phase. Crucial to the planed drying is that the climate in the building is favorable for the drying process. In order to control the drying climate the company is conducting an extensive work by measuring, where data logs at different locations in the building records air temperature and relative humidity. Along with the trend measurements of moisture levels in the concrete slab, the idea is that the data series should provide a picture of how the drying progresses. The difficulty with drying climates is that the subject in many respects is abstract and theoretical, because the parameters that describe the drying climate are continuously changing. If the collected data should add value to the construction site, the amount of data needs to be analyzed and visualized in a clear way, which means that the company's construction management services can act based on the information without necessarily possessing expertise in the subject area. This bachelor degree project aims to assist the company with knowledge of drying climate during construction condition, linked to the drying of construction moisture. During the work, the conditions for effective drying of construction moisture have been studied with respect to variations in drying climate.  Another study also conducted, was to find out when the company in a general case may complement drying climate with increased ventilation and/or dehumidification to keep the drying climate at a steady level in the building year round. As background to the subject, a description of the factors controlling the drying climate is presented in the report, theoretical and specifically for the project. The results of the study show that the conditions for effective drying of construction moisture have been the case of the building sites that has been sampled, in the sense that a majority of climate trends follow the established criteria in the project's moisture safety plan. The study also shows that increased ventilation and/or dehumidification may be applied as a supplement in the period from March/April until October/November at which time the dehydration strategy can revert back to warming indoor air only.

This thesis describes a full design project of a processor based sophisticated measurement instrument - the datalogger. It covers the theoretical approach to the design project followed with hardware and software design. Many nonstandard solutions in hardware and software parts are used to approach a target, and they are fully described. The world that surrounds us today is full of products based on science and technology knowledge. These products are part of everyday life. The development of science and technology is very much depend upon a parallel development of measurement techniques and instruments. Measurement and the technology of measurement called instrumentation, serves not only science but all branches of engineering, medicine and almost every sphere of human life. Measuring instruments are used in the monitoring and control of processes and operations, too. Most specialised instruments, such as the datalogger, are used in experimental, research and develop science and engineering work. This thesis is organised into six chapters. The dataloger position in the measurement instruments tree is shown in the first chapter. The electronics design philosophy follows in the next chapter. It covers the most common problems found when the new design project starts. The global design strategy with brief description of all steps follows. The second chapter contains the datalogger project history, the reasons for going into the project, and the requests of the new device, too. At the end of this chapter the basic work principle of the datalogger is described to allow an easily following applied solutions. The third chapter covers all datalogger design specialities that make the datalogger design different from the design of other measurement instruments. It starts with remote sensors problems and problems commonly connected to the input stage of similar systems. The second half of this chapter analyses the instrument precision and error sources. There are several different methods that precision can be increased. Two methods applied here, reducing measurement range and oversampling with noise, are briefly described. The forth chapter interpretates the design of the processor board. It starts with a general microcontroller overview, describing the reasons for selecting the Hitachi microcontroller H8/532. The most important microcontroller characteristics are shown, too. The second part of this chapter contains the organisation, connections and contents of other electronics blocks in the processor board. At the end of this chapter the processor board schematic and full characteristics are given. The datalogger's hardware is described in the fifth chapter. The basic work principles of the various hardware parts are given in the beginning. The hardware is broken down and described in the following way: power electronics, digital control, signal processing part, and interface cards. All parts are covered with detailed descriptions of design circuit and the following calculation. The last chapter shows the software for the datalogger. It starts with the mathematical calculation principle developed and used in the datalogger. The customer part which follows covers software and hardware part relation between user and datalogger. One of the datalogger's software speciality is organisation of RAM space which allows high software flexibility of the datalogger as a measurement instrument. At the end the full datalogger program organisation is given on a global level.

No decorrer dos últimos anos, tem-se verificado um aumento significativo de dispositivos e de novas propostas para a implementação de edifícios inteligentes, com a necessidade de registar dados provenientes desses mesmos dispositivos foram desenvolvidos mecanismos analógicos e, mais recentemente digitas para suprir essas necessidades, vulgarmente designados por DataLoggers, de forma a facilitar o registo e recolha de dados. O DataLogger consiste em receber dados de um ou vários dispositivos, processar esses mesmos dados e armazenar em formato digital. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo, a implementação de um DataLogger num Sistema Inteligente de Gestão de Energia Elétrica, que passa pela obtenção de dados provenientes do sistema inteligente, é inserida uma “etiqueta temporal” para que o utilizador possa tomar conhecimento quando alguma ação por parte dos dispositivos terá ocorrido. No final são armazenados num cartão SD genérico. O trabalho não é focado para uma aplicação específica, contudo o DataLogger desenvolvido terá uso no projeto de investigação denominado por SIGEE proposto pela empresa Nanoquantum – Energias Renováveis Lda.
Over the past few years, there has been a significant increase in devices and new proposals for the implementation of intelligent buildings with the need to register their data with the development of analog mechanisms devices and more recently digital devices to address these needs, DataLoggers commonly called, to facilitate the registration and data collection. The DataLogger propose is to receive data from one or more devices, process and store such data in a digital format. This dissertation aims the implementation of a DataLogger in Intelligent Energy Management System, which obtains data from the intelligent system where is inserted a "time tag" for the user to be aware when an action by part of the devices has occurred. At the end that data is stored in a generic SD card. The work is not focused to a specific application, yet the DataLogger developed will be used in the research project called for SIGEE proposed by Nanoquantum company - Renewable Energy Lda.

Com a crescente divulgação de aspetos bastante atuais em tecnologias de informação, de onde se destacam termos como Internet of Things (Iot), SmartHome e SmartCity’s, muitas das empresas que fornecem soluções nessas áreas têm apresentado soluções aos seus clientes, que são maioritariamente relacionadas com a obtenção remota de informação. Existem, no entanto, algumas necessidades ditas mais “industriais” que ainda não têm soluções muito eficientes e que apresentam problemas em termos de aplicação operacional. Este trabalho de investigação permitiu definir um modelo de arquitetura para um artefacto que permita dar solução a algumas necessidades encontradas em organizações e que possa ser controlado de forma remota, com base na informação recebida e fluxos de trabalho previamente estabelecidos, e com um elevado grau de automatização na execução de tarefas. O processo de investigação segue uma abordagem metodológica indutiva, com uma perspetiva de investigação qualitativa, centrada num estudo de caso que serve de contexto para a elaboração de do artefacto. A investigação segure as diretrizes para pesquisas no âmbito dos Sistemas de Informação (SI) do método de investigação Design Science Research (DSR). A investigação procurou evidenciar o estado da arte, centrando-se no domínio das tecnologias de redes de comunicação e das bases de dados. Através da investigação foi possível definir as características de funcionalidade de um protótipo, sendo as respetivas necessidades validadas através de inquéritos e entrevistas a organizações com necessidades de monitorização remota de instalações e equipamentos. O modelo de arquitetura proposto nesta investigação pode ser compreendido e utilizado por técnicos e gestores para conceber soluções que tirem partido do artefacto, podendo também proceder a implementações adaptadas às suas necessidades.
