L’objet de cet article vise à mettre à jour la construction de sens de la datavisualisation, à partir de ses prétentions communicationnelles, ses matérialités sémiotiques et les registres appréciatifs qui leurs sont associés par des usager·ères non-expert·es. Pour ce faire, les auteur·es procèdent de trois manières : premièrement, par l’étude des discours d’accompagnement qui innervent les politiques de la donnée ou les groupes professionnels qui produisent des visualisations de donnée ; puis par l’analyse des principes de conception qui s’inscrivent dans les matérialités sémiotiques des visualisations de données ; enfin, en rendant compte des registres appréciatifs mobilisés par des usager·ères non-expert·es dans le cadre d’une enquête exploratoire, qualifiée de sémio-pragmatique des actes de réception. Dans cette perspective, l’article interroge le rapport entre le régime de familiarité qu’entretiennent les enquêté·es avec les visualisations de données dans leur vie quotidienne et leur niveau de littératie en datavisualisation. Il invite ainsi à réévaluer le rôle des affects et des émotions dans la compréhension et l’interprétation des visualisations de données.

L’éditorialisation des contenus de veille est aujourd’hui cruciale, si l’on veut répondre aux nouveaux usages. À cet égard, les techniques de représentation graphique ( datavisualisation ou dataviz ), de plus en plus utilisées par les médias, comme on l’a vu lors de la crise de la Covid-19, sont des outils séduisants. Ils permettent de diffuser une information de manière rapide, et synthétique, donc percutante. Cependant en termes de méthode et de pertinence, ils posent un double défi : statistique et heuristique.

Les finances locales subissent des réformes constantes complexifiant la compréhension de l’impact pour les territoires. La data visualisation permet de croiser des données rapidement en fonction de strates démographiques. L’analyse financière doit donc désormais s’effectuer en croisant les données.

The need for effective and environmentally friendly charging infrastructure has grown as thenumber of electric cars (EVs) on the road continues to increase. In order to enable contactlessEV charging, this work presents a solar-powered wireless charging system that smoothly combinesphotovoltaic (PV) and wireless power transfer (WPT) technologies. Through the reductionof dependency on traditional grid electricity, the suggested solution offers a sustainable way toreduce fuel consumption, reduce emissions, and get around current infrastructure limitations.The solar PV array, energy storage device, inverter circuit, inductive coupling coils for wirelessenergy transmission, rectifier stage, microprocessor, and LCD module for real-time datavisualisation make up the system design. High power transfer efficiency and a significant reductionin charging time are confirmed by experimental validation, establishing this technology asa workable alternative to traditional plug-in charging options. The findings demonstrate howthis strategy might increase EV adoption by reducing gearbox losses, fostering the integrationof renewable energy sources, and providing increased convenience. In order to maximise powerdistribution and system efficiency, future developments will concentrate on integrating smartgrid technologies and putting dynamic charging capabilities into practice.

L’Observatoire des Finances et de la Gestion publique Locales participe à la diffusion et à la valorisation des données financières, fiscales et de gestion, des collectivités territoriales françaises. Sur ces thématiques, les données ouvertes, notamment par des administrations centrales, sont nombreuses. Elles contribuent à la transparence et à la modernisation de l’action publique. Mais leur exploitation directe par les utilisateurs se heurte à de nombreux freins techniques et conceptuels. Le portail data.ofgl.fr ambitionne de lever certains de ces freins pour faciliter les réutilisations possibles. Dans ce but, différents moyens sont mobilisés : mise à disposition d’outils de consultation et d’analyse puissants, anticipation des traitements les plus utiles, explication des concepts et des méthodes utilisés, présentation de datavisualisations pertinentes…

Daarnaast biedt het een weergave van een exploratief onderzoek naar deze transformatie en de gevolgen voor controllers. Uit het vragenlijst­onderzoek blijkt dat cloudtechnologieën en datavisualisatie een belangrijke rol spelen in de huidige werkzaamheden van controllers. Bovendien verwachten controllers dat artificial intelligence, predictive analytics en automatisering in de komende 5 jaar eveneens een essentieel onderdeel van de controllingpraktijk zullen worden. Digitalisering verandert de werkzaamheden van controllers, hetgeen kan leiden tot digitale bezorgdheid. Een digitaletransformatiestrategie helpt om deze bezorgdheid te verminderen.

Ce travail trouve son ancrage dans une enquête de terrain sur les mutations à l’œuvre dans les rédactions de la PQR, presse quotidienne régionale. Le datajournalisme avait alors émergé comme une notion à questionner et à redéfinir tant les discours produits semblaient complexes. Entre espoirs, souvent idéalisés, d’un outil clé en main pour illustrer l’actualité ultra-locale et verrous institutionnels et individuels éprouvés lors des pratiques, il semblait y avoir un espace complexe à explorer. Nous proposons ici de présenter le rôle particulier que tient la datavisualisation dans cet espace : souvent confondue avec le datajournalisme, la datavisualisation constitue fréquemment la première étape d’une familiarisation au traitement des données, facilitée par le recours à des outils clé en main qui interviennent à deux étapes du traitement journalistique : lors de l’exploration des données par le journaliste puis dans leur mise en narration pour le lecteur.

ObjectiveThe presentation describes the design and the main functionalitiesof two user-friendly applications developed using R-shiny to supportthe statistical analysis of morbidity and mortality data from the Frenchsyndromic surveillance system SurSaUD.IntroductionThe French syndromic surveillance system SursaUD® has beenset up by Santé publique France, the national public health agency(formerly French institute for public health - InVS) in 2004. In 2016,the system is based on three main data sources: the attendancesin about 650 emergency departments (ED), the consultations to62 emergency general practitioners’ (GPs) associations SOSMédecins and the mortality data from 3,000 civil status offices [1].Daily, about 60,000 attendances in ED (88% of the nationalattendances), 8,000 visits in SOS Médecins associations (95% ofthe national visits) and 1,200 deaths (80% of the national mortality)are recorded all over the territory and transmitted to Santé publiqueFrance.About 100 syndromic groupings of interest are constructed fromthe reported diagnostic codes, and monitored daily or weekly, fordifferent age groups and geographical scales, to characterize trends,detect expected or unexpected events (outbreaks) and assess potentialimpact of both environmental and infectious events. All-causesmortality is also monitored in similar objectives.Two user-friendly interactive web applications have beendeveloped using the R shiny package [2] to provide a homogeneousframework for all the epidemiologists involved in the syndromicsurveillance at the national and the regional levels.MethodsThe first application, named MASS-SurSaUD, is dedicated to theanalysis of the two morbidity data sources in Sursaud, along with dataprovided by a network of Sentinel GPs [3]. Based on pre-aggregateddata availaible daily at 10:30 am, R programs create daily, weeklyand monthly time series of the proportion of each syndromic groupingamong all visits/attendances with a valid code at the national andregional levels. Twelve syndromic groupings (mainly infectious andrespiratory groups, like ILI, gastroenteritis, bronchiolitis, pulmonarydiseases) and 13 age groups have been chosen for this application.For ILI, 3 statistical methods (periodic regression, robust periodicregression and Hidden Markov model) have been implementedto identify outbreaks. The results of the 3 methods applied to the3 data sources are combined with a voting algorithm to compilethe influenza alarm level for each region each week: non-epidemic,pre/post epidemic or epidemic.The second application, named MASS-Euromomo, allowsconsulting results provided by the model developed by the Europeanproject EuroMomo for the common analysis of mortality in theEuropean countries (www.euromomo.eu). The Euromomo model,initially developed using Stata software, has been transcripted inR. The model has been adapted to run in France both at a national,regional and other geographical administrative levels, and for 7 agegroups.ResultsThe two applications, accessible on a web-portal, are similarlydesigned, with:- a dropdown menu and radio buttons on the left hand side to selectthe data to display (e.g. filter by data source, age group, geographicallevels, syndromic grouping and/or time period),- several tab panels allowing to consult data and statistical resultsthrough tables, static and dynamic charts, statistical alarm matrix,geographical maps,... (Figure 1),- a “help” tab panel, including documentations and guidelines,links, contact details.The MASS-SurSaUD application has been deployed in December2015 and used during the 2015-2016 influenza season. MASS-Euromomo application has been deployed in July 2016 for the heat-wave surveillance period. Positive feedbacks from several users havebeen reported.ConclusionsBusiness Intelligence tools are generally focused on datavisualisation and are not generally tailored for providing advancedstatistical analysis. Web applications built with the R-shiny packagecombining user-friendly visualisations and advanced statistics can berapidly built to support timely epidemiological analyses and outbreakdetection.Figure 1: screen-shots of a page of the two applications
