Abstract:
Abstract: Watershed management is putting land use and water management practices in place to safeguard and enhance the integrity of water and other natural resources within a watershed. This is done by regulating the use of those land and water resources in a comprehensive approach [3]. Due to these concerns, watershed management often meets scientific problems and issues in public policy. The watershed areas of Davao City are critical as they are sources of essential services that support the city's economy, environment, and people's quality of life, such as clean drinking water and healthy fisheries. Watershed management in Davao City also faces challenges relative to the city's developments, including the threats brought by increasing population, culture, climate change, and resource overuse. In this study, the researchers evaluated the multi-sectoral participation in crafting policies, guidelines, and strategies toward ensuring the health and sustainability of the watershed areas. The study uses a qualitative research design that involves sending out structured questionnaires. This design can assess the multi-sector participation in the management, protection, and conservation of the eight watersheds in Davao City. The study provides information on the stakeholders' community participation in managing the Davao City watershed. The community is highly aware of the need to participate in managing, protecting, and conserving watersheds. This was exemplified by the organization of the Davao City Watershed Management Council members as a group with legal and moral duties to protect the watershed and sustainably utilize it.

Abstract:
This study explored the experiences of young mothers in early parenthood. This qualitative study was conducted using the phenomenological method. The seven participants were purposively selected to be interviewed. The data analysis results reveal interesting themes regarding the mothers’ experiences, challenges, coping strategies, and insights during early parenthood. Themes for experiences such as dilemma in providing proper care, feelings of apprehension and shame, failed expectations, society’s judgment, satisfying feeling of achieving motherhood, and lack of time for self are revealed in experiences. Mothers in early parenthood experienced challenges such as being financially incapable, mentally and emotionally unprepared, and unprivileged to finish school. Finding strength from family and God, using personal strategies, and getting support and motivation from the husband are the coping strategies of mothers when dealing with challenges. The mothers’ insights include being prepared for the consequences, parents knowing what is best for us, being a mother is a big shoe to fill, and weighing things wisely. The gathered data from the participants will provide invaluable insights and knowledge that can contribute to the field of social work by strengthening prevention efforts. In addition, by understanding young parents' unique experiences and needs, social workers can develop effective programs and services to help address their challenges. Finally, the younger generation may get a significant takeaway from the study about the experiences and consequences of early parenthood.

Abstract:
Abstract Natan Alterman (1910-1970) was one of the most outstanding Hebrew poets of the twentieth century. He was born in Warsaw and emigrated to Israel in 1925 at the age of fifteen. Beginning in 1931, he began to publish the compositions that created his reputation as a modernist poet. His poetry became almost canonical in pre-state Israel as it voiced the Jewish aspiration for an end to the British mandate and the creation of an independent state. Alterman also gained fame for his contributions to Israeli culture as a dramatist (primarily in his last decade) and as a writer of folksongs, popular lyrics, and humorous pieces. In addition, Alterman translated many world classics into Hebrew. Among the works he translated were dramas by Shakespeare and Moliere. Aside from his various literary pursuits, the public of his time knew Alterman as a writer of political and social verse for the daily press. He first began to publish this sort of material in the Israeli newspaper Ha’ aretz and then, beginning in the 1940s, contributed a column called Ha-Tur ha-shvi’i (The Seventh Column) to the socialist newspaper Davar. During the Holocaust, he published several collections of poetry, for example, Simach Aniyyim (Joys of the Poor, 1941) and Shirei Makkot Mizrayim (The Plagues ef Egypt, 1944), which addressed the first news of the Shoah. Later, his poetry, as in his important 1957 collection entitled Ir ha-Yonah (Wailing City), addressed the 1948 Israeli War of Independence, as well as topics on the Israeli agenda during the first twenty years of the state’s existence. In 1967, after the Six Day War and Israel’s occupation of territories on the West Bank of the Jordan, Alterman became one of the founders of the Movement for a Greater Israel, which promoted annexation of those areas.

<p>Seismic hazards present risks to infrastructure, challenging development in developing countries. Damage and Loss Assessment (<b>DaLA</b>) methodologies estimate potential economic and physical damages from earthquakes, helping improve building resilience. The 2019 Davao earthquakes and the 2004 Metro Manila Earthquake Impact Reduction Study (<b>MMEIRS</b>) emphasize the need for enhanced Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) policies. This study updates projections by estimating losses to public-school buildings in Manila from earthquakes originating from local seismic sources. DaLA estimates show potential losses exceeding US$ 57.5 million for a magnitude 7.2 earthquake. Four scenario analyses revealed economic losses of US$ 30.4 million for a magnitude 6 event, US$ 72.3 million for magnitude 6.5, US$ 151 million for magnitude 7.2, and US$ 157.6 million for magnitude</p><p>7.5. These findings highlight the importance of DaLA in disaster preparedness.</p>
