Abstract:
Twenty years ago Dave Ulrich initiated with „Human Resoucre Champions” a reorientation of Human Resource Management. This anniversary gives reason to sum up: HR has lost employees out of sight. Human Resource Management therefore needs to give greater priority to promoting employee well-being. Keywords: talent management, makro perspektive, hr selbstverständnis

Abstract:
As companies have engaged in domestic and international mergers over the last few years in order to match the macroeconomic trends operating on a worldwide and more recently to cope with the current global financial crisis, human resource managers have been encouraged to play a more strategic role in their organizations, especially in the case of extensive and radical organizational change such as merging process. This study addresses and works on the existing research gap by investigating the roles of HR managers among the different roles which were defined at the fist by Dave Ulrich. This paper demonstrates that HR managers are an essential part of merger and that HR practices should be given an extensive emphasizing throughout such organizational change “the merger process”.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to examine the future contribution of human resources (HR) in three areas: first, the evolution of four waves of HR value creation leading to an outside-in focus. Second, HR insights about individual competence (talent), leadership and organization capabilities (culture). Third, creating more effective HR departments and upgrading HR professionals. Design/methodology/approach The author, Dave Ulrich, has worked extensively on HR theory, research and practice. This paper synthesizes and extends his (and others’) thinking about HR’s evolving contributions. Findings HR is not about HR, but about helping an organization succeed in the marketplace through talent, leadership and organization. HR departments can be assessed and improved based on nine dimensions and HR professionals can recognize and master competencies that help them deliver value. Originality/value Reading should come away recognize where HR can continue to contribute to individual and organizational success through thinking outside in, delivering HR agenda (talent, leadership and organization), and improving the HR department and upgrading HR professionals.

Ullrich, Heiko. "Das Singspiel Des Trojanischen Paridis Urtheil/ Von dem Goldenen Apffel der Eridis (1662?) und die umstrittene Autorschaft Anton Ulrichs." Daphnis 43, no. 2 (2015): 620–43. http://dx.doi.org/10.1163/18796583-04302004.

Abstract:
The anonymously published Singspiel Des Trojanischen Paridis Urtheil which the editors of Anton Ulrich’s works have included in the second volume offers not one single indication of its authorship or date of publication. Nevertheless a quote from Jacobs Heyrath, another Singspiel presumably written by Anton Ulrich, thematic parallels with Regier-Kunst-Schatten, and especially a comparison with Andromeda, a play which with certainty can be ascribed to Anton Ulrich, can help to verify Anton Ulrich’s authorship for Des Trojanischen Paridis Urtheil. A further indication of Anton Ulrich’s authorship is the unfamiliar concentration on the aftermath of the judgement not with regard to Paris and his further fate (which is totally omitted), but to Venus’ new position in the hierarchy of Olympus.

Abstract:
This thesis focuses on Human Resources in a company, it' s strategic managing and measuring it's contribution to the business. In theoretical part the main source is foreign literature and it analyses traditional and new conceptions of HR. It focuses on a role of HR director, as a main element of strategic level of HR and his/her role in a relation to the rest of a company and HR department. In practical part the thesis analyses a research, made among Czech companies, and comes into a conclusion, that the main cause of an unsatisfactory HR management in these companies is it's poor measurability. In the final, key part of the thesis it designs a process, which a company should follow in order to adopt a strategic HR and it's measurement by goals of a company.

Abstract:
Religions are increasingly being regarded as relevant partners in international development cooperation due to their special attributes. However, to date there has been little research into what the special attributes of religious development agencies actually are or how such organisations employ them. What resources do religious NGOs draw on in development cooperation? How do such NGOs differ from other development agencies? Does their engagement make a considerable difference to collaborative development work? Using empirical case studies and theoretical analysis, the contributions in this book address these questions. In doing so, they examine different religions and their collaborative development work in various regions of the world, and chart the most recent changes in religions. Abstract:
Whereas democracy still seemed to be triumphantly sweeping the world before the turn of the century, today it finds itself under immense pressure, not only as a viable political system, but also as a theoretical and normative concept. The coronavirus crisis has underlined and accelerated these developments. There are manifold reasons for this, above all the fundamental changes the state and society have undergone in the face of globalisation, digitalisation, migration, climate change and not least the current pandemic, to name the most significant of them. This volume analyses the changes to democracy in the 21st century and the crises it has experienced. In doing so, the book identifies where action is needed, on the one hand, and investigates appropriate, up-to-date reforms and the prospects for politics, political communication and political education, on the other. In ASME 2015 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences and Computers and Information in Engineering Conference. Abstract:
It is desirable for designers to use formal representations when interpreting customer need statements. However, to date there is no methodology that systematically evaluates the quality of information generated by a specific customer requirement derivation (CRD) method. This work develops and applies an evaluation framework that compares a traditional method rooted in work from Pahl and Beitz, and Ulrich and Eppinger, with approaches derived from affordance modeling literature. The framework is based on eight metrics derived from extant literature. Results of a pilot study involving sophomore engineering students suggest that no method is dominant but there are differences among methods on most metrics. The framework lays the basis for further research on CRD methods and offers insights for engineering education and engineers in practice.
