O novaiorquino David Graeber (1961-2020) foi um antropólogo que fez várias investigações de grande importância no âmbito das ciências humanas, investigando as noções de burocracia (GRAEBER, 2015a), dívida (GRAEBER, 2016a) e trabalho (GRAEBER, 2018). Um de seus livros póstumos, “Anarchy - in a manner of speaking” (“Anarquia - em um certo modo de falar”, em tradução livre) (GRAEBER et al., 2020), será simultaneamente publicado em inglês, francês e alemão. Trata-se de uma conversa entre ele, o filósofo franco-tunisiano Mehdi Belhaj Kacem, a atriz e escritora francesa Assia Turquier-Zauberman, e a artista soviética Nika Dubrovski. No livro, eles/as discutem o conceito de anarquia na esfera política.

In a recent issue ofCentral European History, David Wetzel published a wide-ranging review of the first two volumes of my documentary edition on the Hohenzollern candidacy for the Spanish throne, the immediate pre-history of the Franco-Prussian war of 1870/71. It goes without saying that I read this review by the author ofA Duel of Giants: Bismarck, Napoleon III, and the Origins of the Franco-Prussian War(2001) with particular interest. My first—and lasting—impression is that here was the discussion of a specialist, one that—precisely because of Wetzel's roots in a different historiographical tradition—represents a model of scholarly fairness. In German historiography since the nineteenth century, and primarily for political reasons, comparably fair treatment of works that deal with a central historical figure such as Bismarck has not been the rule. I am no less grateful for the opportunity offered by his critical objections to make some more general and precise points.

Michel Bock porte son regard sur le conflit franco-irlandais qui a divisé les catholiques du diocèse de Sault-Sainte-Marie, dans le nord de l’Ontario, pendant le règne de l’évêque David Scollard (1904-1934). En situant le conflit dans le contexte des événements qui déclenchèrent la crise du Règlement 17 (1912-1927) et dans celui de la Première Guerre mondiale (1914-1918), il analyse le rôle qu’ont pu jouer les nombreux affrontements entre coreligionnaires canadiens-français et irlando-canadiens entourant les nominations paroissiales et le bilinguisme scolaire dans la mutation du champ intellectuel franco-ontarien. En effet, la double intervention du Saint-Siège dans la crise des écoles bilingues, par les encycliques Commisso Divinitus (1916) et Litteris Apostolicis (1918), conduisit l’élite nationaliste de l’Ontario français non seulement à abandonner l’ardeur belliqueuse et l’intransigeance qui caractérisaient son combat contre les « Irlandais » depuis le début du siècle, mais aussi à remettre en cause, du moins publiquement, le fondement même du nationalisme canadien-français traditionaliste, soit l’union, jugée inviolable jusqu’alors, des questions nationale et religieuse. La thèse de la langue « gardienne » de la foi étant devenue insoutenable aux yeux de la hiérarchie romaine, dont la compréhension du nationalisme était pour l’essentiel inspirée du contexte européen, l’élite franco-ontarienne sentit la nécessité de faire preuve d’une plus grande modération idéologique et stratégique dans ses tractations avec l’évêque Scollard.

O presente trabalho pretende averiguar as ocorrências do insólito no texto fílmico El laberinto del fauno, de produção cinematográfica transnacional, com roteiro pessoal e direção independente de Guillermo del Toro. A análise em questão conta com embasamento teórico de autores como David Roas, Felipe Furtado, Wolfgang Kayser e Tzvetan Todorov. Partiremos de tais teóricos para refletirmos acerca dos elementos fantásticos, bem como dos aspectos sociais presentes em um filme que, a partir do cenário da Espanha de 1944, pós-Guerra Civil e em pleno regime fascista do general Franco, realiza um processo de releitura da história hegemônica para entender melhor seus artifícios de construção.

La muse normande est un recueil de poèmes comiques écrits par David Ferrand, poète et imprimeur rouennais (1590-1660), à l'occasion du Puy des palinods, concours littéraire organisé tous les huit décembre en l'honneur de la fête de l'immaculée conception de la vierge marie. L'œuvre, écrite en langage purin, la langue des ouvriers rouennais du textile, fait l'objet d'une étude phonétique, morpho-syntaxique et lexicale, afin de déterminer ce qui, dans ce corpus de vingt-huit livres, est propre aux parlers normands, ce qui est particulier à la langue française des seizième et dix-septième siècles, et ce qu'il faut imputer à la fantaisie de l'auteur. L'étude phonétique tend à montrer qu'une partie des phénomènes relevés sont des archaïsmes, attestés en ancien et moyen français, alors qu'une autre série de phénomènes se rattache à ceux décrits par les dialectologues comme caractéristiques des parlers normands du nord de la ligne joret. Les phénomènes morpho-syntaxiques étudiés sont le plus souvent attestés au seizième et au début du dix-septième siècle
The norman muse is a collection of comic poems written by David Ferrand, a poet and printer from Rouen (1590-1660) for the Puy des palinods (literary society of the palinods), a literary contest organised every eighth december to commemorate the immaculate conception of the holy virgin. This works, written in the purin language, that of the textile workers in Rouen, is the subject of a phonetic, morpho-syntaxic and lexical study; its aim is to determine, in this corpus of twenty-eight books, what belongs to norman dialects, what is peculiar to the french language of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and what is to be attributed to the authors's own imagination. The phonetic study tends to reveal that part of the phenomena that have been noted are archaism, witnessed in old and middle french, while another series of phenomena is to be linked to those described by dialectologists as characteristic of the norman dialects north of the joret line. The morpho-syntactic phenomena which are studied are most often witnessed in seventeenth century language

L'etude de l'industrie sur galet de la chaise, abris suard et bourgeois-delaunay, qui represente environ un tiers de l'assemblage lithique recolte, est inedite. Son objectif est de comprendre les raisons de l'utilisation de ce materiau pour la confection d'une partie de l'outillage. Grace a l'emploi d'une methodologie adaptee, la chaine operatoire menee par les hommes est reconstituee. De la mise en evidence de comportements techno-economiques differents entre les deux abris, gestion de la matiere premiere et du debitage notamment, decoule une importante discussion concernant les pratiques des hommes prehistoriques. Elle prend en compte divers facteurs susceptibles d'influencer le comportement des hommes selon les sites et les periodes. La qualite des resultats obtenus et la mise en evidence de concordances, mais aussi de divergences, selon le jeu des nombreux facteurs, engagent a poursuivre les recherches a partir de ce materiel et le travail en equipe interdisciplinaire
The study of la chaise's pebble industry, suard and bourgeois-delaunay refuges, who represent about one third of the lithic collection, is unpublished. Its objective is to understand the reasons of the use of this material for the preparation of part of the tools. Thanks to the use of an adapted method, humans' operating process is reconstituted. Different technical and economical behaviours, namely raw material and debitage management, are underlined between both refuges and lead to an important discussion about the prehistoric humans' practices. This study takes into account several factors which may had influenced humans' behaviour depending on considered sites and periods. The quality of the obtained results and the underlined similarities and divergences after computation of several factors, lead to continue researches on this material and proceed with interdisciplinary team

A quelle(s) logique(s) répondent les dispositifs de création réalisés par Antonin Artaud et David Nebreda ? Quel statut attribuer à leurs « œuvres », si tant est que l’on puisse accoler cette appellation à leurs travaux ? Pour répondre à ces questions, nous mènerons une réflexion d’ordre esthétique et nous nous interrogerons parallèlement sur la spécificité du processus de création dans la psychose. Nous étudierons les productions d’Artaud et de Nebreda sous l’angle de la mise en scène et de la performativité. Nous mettrons également en lumière l’abolition de la représentation, l’effondrement de la scène et les limites du jeu / je. Nous montrerons ainsi la prédominance des registres Réel et Imaginaire conçus par Jacques Lacan. Chez ces « artistes » transgressant les frontières des genres et de l’art, les manifestations incontrôlées du corps et les conflits intrapsychiques donnent lieu à des recréations simultanées du monde et du langage, qui, en même temps qu’elles s’apparentent au déroulement d’une cérémonie de mise à mort, tracent des signes inédits, forment d’étranges parcours et s’orientent vers l’horizon d’une nouvelle naissance
Which logic is guiding the multimodal creations proposed by Antonin Artaud and David Nebreda ? What kind of status can be applied to their “(art)works” ? In order to answer these questions, we will lead an esthetical research and study concurrently the specificities of the creative process in psychosis. We will examine Artaud’s and Nebreda’s productions through the notions of setting and performativity. We will underline the abolition of representation and the crumbling of the stage as well as the limits of play / subjectivity. We will show the predominance of the Real and Imaginary registers as they have been conceived by JacquesLacan. By Artaud and Nebreda, the uncontrolled corporal manifestations and the intra-psychicconflicts generate simultaneous recreations of the body and language as, in the same time, they achieve a sort of sort killing ceremony, tracing unseen signs, outlining strange trails and pointing toward the horizon of a new birth

Les manuscrits des Commentaires des Psaumes copiés aux XIe et XIIe siècles sont parfois illustrés; parmi eux, ce sont essentiellement les traités de saint Augustin et de Pierre Lombard qui reçoivent une illustration. L'iconographie accorde une large place au Christ que les écrits interprétatifs considèrent comme annoncé par les psaumes. David, le roi prophète, est communément accepté en tant qu'auteur du Psautier et à ce titre souvent figuré. A ces deux figures prééminentes se greffent des portraits d'auteurs, des personnages bibliques, des psalmistes et des impies, ainsi que des compositions moralisatrices visant à l'édification du lecteur. Ce travail analyse un corpus de manuscrits qui s'inscrivent dans une période charnière de l'histoire de l'enluminure médiévale. A l'imagerie relativement créative des manuscrits des alentours de 1100 succèdent, en liaison avec l'apparition des traités composés sur un nouveau mode, les prémisses de la standardisation adoptée au XIIIe siècle

Le sculpteur Pierre-Jean David, dit David d’Angers (Angers, 1788-Paris, 1856), a produit un œuvre dessiné important, tant numériquement que par l’éclairage qu’il permet de poser sur son œuvre et sa vie. Gardés par l’artiste comme une réserve de formes et d’idées, ses dessins furent donnés, dans leur grande majorité par ses enfants au musée d’Angers qui avait été envisagé par le sculpteur lui-même comme le lieu idéal de conservation de ses principales réalisations. 3935 feuilles y sont conservées. Pourtant l’importance de l’œuvre graphique a toujours été minorée, probablement car l’artiste lui-même en faisait peu de cas. Une partie des dessins permet d’explorer le parcours de formation de l’artiste et de mettre en perspective le rôle que joua le dessin dans l’élaboration de ses principes sur l’art qu’il enseigna plus tard à ses élèves. L’étude des dessins préparatoires interroge le processus créatif de leur auteur et les relations avec les œuvres sculptées. Le parallèle avec d’autres artistes met en lumière la singularité ou la similarité des approches. Enfin, certains dessins dévoilent les influences reçues et la personnalité du dessinateur mais également les rapports avec les commanditaires des œuvres sculptées et révèlent, par leurs contradictions avec d’autres sources, la construction par David d’une mythologie personnelle lors de son entrée en politique dans les années 1830
The sculptor Pierre-Jean David, known as David d'Angers (Angers, 1788-Paris, 1856), produced an important drawn work, both in terms of its number and in terms of the lighting it provides for his work and his life. Keeping by the artist as a reserve of forms and ideas, his drawings were given, in their great majority by his children, to the Musée d'Angers, which had been considered by the sculptor himself as the ideal place to preserve his main works. 3935 sheets are stored there. However, the importance of the graphic work has always been reduced, probably because the artist himself paid little attention to it. Part of the drawings explore the artist's training path and put into perspective the role that drawing played in the development of his principles on art that he later taught his students. The study of the preparatory drawings questions the creative process of their author and the relationship with the sculpted works. The parallel with other artists highlights the singularity or similarity of approaches. Finally, some drawings reveal the influences received and the personality of the draftsman, but also the relationships with the commissioners of the sculpted works and reveal, through their contradictions with other sources, David's construction of a personal mythology when he entered politics in the 1830s

Abstract:
En el presente trabajo se desarrolla una propuesta comparativa entre dos obras de distinta naturaleza: la primera de ellas es la filmación Zócalo (Francis Alÿs, 1999); y la segunda, es la novela Santa María del Circo (David Toscana, 1998). Ya que estas obras, en principio, parecen tener una serie de elementos que las emparenta. En ambas: se tratan espacios de tránsito; son registros, aunque uno imaginario y otro real, simbólicos; hay perturbación del espacio; es posible el tratamiento como semiosferas por las marcadas fronteras; entre otros aspectos que también pudiesen fungir como justificantes comparativos. Además, los espacios de ambas obras pueden ser interpretados como heterotopías, acorde con el concepto de Foucault, insertas dentro de otras heterotopías y con significaciones de amplio espectro: la ciudad, en el caso de Zócalo, y el desierto, para Santa María del Circo. Es así que teóricamente, se parte de un concepto semiótico para tratar la situación antropológica posteriormente. Con ello, se habla también de las representaciones artísticas del contexto social de finales del siglo XX y de la realidad percibida, por Alÿs y Toscana, materializada en las obras que se estudian.http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/ANIAV.2017.4842

Abstract:
La invención del reloj mecánico reemplazo reloj solar y lo que es más importante el tiempo natural relacionado con la duración de la luz del día. El tiempo ya no estaba representado por un evento natural sino por la hora universal. David Claerbout es un arista que nos hace reflexionar sobre estos dos tipos de tiempo: natural y artificial , incrustando en sus obras uno en el otro; en su vídeo Long Goodbye (2007) registra y manipula las progresivas variaciones de la luz solar. En una videoinstalación de Anri Sala titulada Blindfold (2002) se ven dos vallas de anuncios vacías, en un país en desarrollo, con sus superficies metálicas que reflejan los rayos del sol. Su espera en ser actualizadas con los anuncios publicitarios puede ser interpretada como una sugerencia irónica que los espectadores locales fueran cegados por la luz de la economía global. Los protagonistas del vídeo de Francis Alÿs Zocalo (1999) habitan de manera literal su tiempo local; la sombra de mástil de bandera nacional sirve como refugio para los visitantes de la plaza. En mi propia vídeo-escultura Ave solar (2016) se presentan los reflejos provocados por el sol que rebota de las olas del mar y se proyecta en la superficie del casco de unos botes pesqueros que yacen en la playa: es un objeto temporal frágil que desaparece en un parpadeo del ojo, es un instante de tiempo solar formado por sus circunstancias materiales y espaciales, locales.Puede ser que la intuición común de los artistas que se interesan en tiempo solar es la necesidad de exponer los tiempos locales para enfatizar su diferencia, su humanidad en contraste con el tiempo universal, de los relojes digitales de las frecuencias industrializadas, que marcan pasos del supuesto desarrollo económico global.http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/ANIAV.2017.4844

Abstract:
La presente comunicación traza un recorrido a través de diferentes autores que han realizado series fotográficas basadas en el retrato compuesto fotográfico, por medio de aparatos y dispositivos de imagen o software informático, usados principalmente por los cuerpos de seguridad para recrear el rostro de un individuo a partir del testimonio de otra persona. Desde sus inicios, el retrato compuesto fotográfico ha estado muy relacionado con el interés por descubrir el rostro genérico del criminal, y es una de las principales preocupaciones que muy tempranamente manifestó Francis Galton (1822-1911), pionero en la práctica de la fotografía compuesta. Este tipo de modalidad fotográfica aparece en el ámbito científico que vio nacer a la eugenesia moderna, adquiriendo gran popularidad en la época. Pero es en el último cuarto del siglo XX y sobre todo a principios del presente siglo, coincidiendo con la expansión de la fotografía digital y las herramientas inherentes a la misma, que este tipo de práctica se diversifica en sus formas y su uso, pasando de tener un carácter pragmático, antropológico y fisiognómico, a su producción desde una perspectiva estética y artística. Los distintos aparatos fotográficos que han servido para la construcción de retratos compuestos en el ámbito policial suponen una evolución de los dispositivos surgidos a partir del último cuarto del siglo XIX, como el sintetizador Minolta Montage Unit (Unidad de montaje Minolta), un sistema fotográfico utilizado por la policía en los años setenta que a través de un mecanismo formado por espejos era capaz de mezclar hasta cuatro imágenes y que puede entenderse como una actualización del aparato óptico cercano al estereoscopio desarrollado por el propio Galton, que hacía visible la combinación visual de dos rostros creando así su promedio. O el photoFIT (Técnica de identificación facial fotográfica) impulsado por Jacques Penry, que se basaba en un sistema de fichas fotográficas de cartón intercambiables que se corresponden con distintas partes de numerosos rostros para así poder crear por medio de su combinación el retrato deseado. Un sistema que se ha actualizado con la aparición de distintos softwares informáticos como FACES o FACETTE, en los que se ve una clara referencia a los cuadros sinópticos de características fisonómicas creados por el francés Alphonse Bertillon, unos paneles que conformaban todo un atlas fotográfico de rasgos faciales. Es a partir de estos dispositivos que algunos artistas han producido distintos proyectos fotográficos tomando como punto de partida estas herramientas. Entre ellos cabe destacar las series Andere Porträts (1994/1995) de Thomas Ruff y Opfer (1987) de Clemens Mitscher, que usaron el sistema de la Minolta Montage Unit para generar los retratos promediados; la serie Autoportraits robots (2005) de Leandro Berra y The composites (2012 -) de Brian Joseph Davis que usan como medio principal fotográfico el programa FACES; o la serie Photofit: Self-Portraits (2007) de Giles Reveill y Matt Willey, cuyo proyecto se articula principalmente alrededor del Photofit kit de Jacques Penry.

The increasing advance of the new technologies applied in the retail market, make it common to sell products without the personal contact between seller and buyer, being the registration and payment of the products made in electronic equipment of self-checkout. The large-scale use of these devices forces the consumer to participate in the service process, which was previously done through interaction with the company's employees. The user of the self-checkout system thus performs all the steps of the purchase, from weighing the products, registering them and making the payment. This is seen as a partial employee, whose participation or performance in providing services can be used by the company to improve the quality of its operations (KELLEY, et al 1993). However this participation does not always satisfy the user, and may cause negative experiences related to usability failures. This article presents the results of the evaluation by the users of the self-checkout system. The data were collected in Portugal through a questionnaire to 400 users. The study analyzes the degree of satisfaction regarding the quality and usability of the system, the degree of motivation for its adoption, as well as the profile of the users. Analysis of the sample data reveals that users have basic or higher education and use new technologies very often. They also have a high domain of the system and an easy learning of its use. The reason for using self-checkout instead of the traditional checkout is mainly due to "queues at checkout with operator" and "at the small volume of products". In general, the sample reveals a high degree of satisfaction with the service and with quality, however, in comparative terms, self-checkout is not considered better than operator checkout. The evaluation of the interaction with the self-checkout was classified according to twenty-six attributes of the system. The analysis identifies five groups with similar characteristics, of which two have low scores. "Cancellation of registered articles", "search for articles without a bar code", "manual registration", "bagging area", "error messages", "weight sensor" and “invoice request "are seven critical attributes of the system. The results indicate that the usability analysis oriented to the self-checkout service can be determinant for the user-system interaction.
