Abstract:
The article argues that Uriah died due to Yahweh’s hatred for the Hittites. The Deuteronomist was very interested in telling us how David was very promiscuous and ungodly. However, when an exegesis was done on the study text, it was discovered that Yahweh, as well as Bathsheba, should be held responsible for the death of Uriah. Furthermore, it was proven that David did all he could to make Uriah escape being killed, but Providence being orchestrated by Yahweh made it clear that Uriah was not ready to give heed to the pleadings of David. Moreover, Yahweh hated the Hittites, the tribe of Uriah.

Abstract:
This thesis examines the development of self-help as an ideology and as an organisational principle for poor relief and how it came to dominate discussions over poverty and crucially inform the Poor Law Amendment Act of 1834. The continuity of self-help with earlier discussions and reviews of the poor laws is explored and emphasised, as is the continuing moral core of poor relief despite historians’ frequent ascription of de-moralisation to the new political economy that came to heavily influence poor law discourse. The thesis analyses the evolution of the poor laws and of attitudes to poverty

Carter’s ability to understand the personalities and to find a common ground in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism was the catalyst that helped it work. They also wanted it to work. This paper presents a summary of the results of that PSM analysis, including a description of the Davis-Besse wastage-area damage model, the technical basis for the model, and the results of sensitivity studies based on a cladding capacity analysis (CCA) and an Accident Sequence Precursor (ASP)

Abstract:
Geologic Resources Inventory reports provide information and resources to help park managers make decisions for visitor safety, planning and protection of infrastructure, and preservation of natural and cultural resources. Information in GRI reports may also be useful for interpretation. This report synthesizes discussions from a scoping meeting held in 2008 and a follow-up conference call in 2023. Chapters of this report discuss the geologic heritage, geologic history, geologic features and processes, and geologic resource management issues of Fort Davis National Historic Site. Guidance for r

Mentoring - “off-line help by one person to another in making significant transitions in knowledge, work or thinking” (David Megginson and David Clutterbuck). In mentoring, a more experienced person (the mentor) works with someone with less experience of the context (the mentee). Through a process of conversations, the mentor helps the mentee develop their capability. The term ‘offline’ means outside of normal line management arrangements. Mentors are critical friends to their mentees – not their bosses, supervisors or managers. In this way the mentor can focus totally on the mentee’s growth a

Abstract:
Western Davis Strait lies within the Labrador-Baffin Seaway rift system, which began forming in the Early Cretaceous as Greenland separated from North America. At chron C27n (Danian), regional seafloor spreading began, as well as significant magmatism. The opening direction changed from southeast-northwest to more north-south in the Thanetian-Ypresian between chrons C25n and C24n, resulting in significant strike-slip motion through the Davis Strait region until seafloor spreading ended at chron C13, near the Eocene-Oligocene boundary. This tectonism has influenced the stratigraphy preserved in

Increasingly, school teachers see the need to recognize the complex and dynamic interactions that occur between the individual, task and environmental constraints during learning. Nonlinear Pedagogy (NP), underpinned by Ecological Dynamics, provides a suitable pedagogical approach to encourage exploratory learning amongst children that is learner-centred and exploratory in nature. This approach is in contrast to a more traditional form of Linear Pedagogy (LP) that is teacher-centred and emphasises repetition in practices to promote movement form consistency in enhancing the acquisition of move

Abstract:
Peach and nectarine production worldwide is increasing; however consumption is flat or declining because of the inconsistent eating quality experienced by consumers. The main factor for this inconsistent quality is mealiness or woolliness, a form of chilling injury that develops following shipping periods in the global fruit market today. Our research groups have devised various postharvest methods to prolong storage life, including controlled atmosphere and delayed storage; however, these treatments only delay mealiness. Mealiness texture results from disruption of the normal ripening process
