mRNA decay is an important step in gene regulation, environmental responsiveness, and mRNA quality control. One such quality control pathway, Nonsense-mediated mRNA Decay (NMD), targets transcripts whose translation terminates prematurely. However, the scope and the defining features of NMD-targeted transcripts remain elusive. To address these issues, we re-evaluated the genome-wide expression of annotated transcripts in yeast cells harboring deletions of the UPF1, UPF2, or UPF3 genes. <I>Lux</I>-marked <I>E. coli</I> was responsive to a wide variety of chlorophenols with differing degrees of toxicity depending on number and position of chlorine substitution. The pH robustness of <I>lux</I>-marked <I>E. coli</I> was exploited in investigating the effect of pH on the sorption of 2,4-DCP to the bacterium. Les cancers cutanés sont associés à la formation des dimères cyclobutyliques de pyrimidine (DCP) générés par les ultraviolets (UV) du soleil. Nos résultats indiquent que les transversions T→G retrouvées suite aux UVA sont dues aux DCP formés majoritairement sur les TT. Objective- To compare the biomechanical properties of 3.5 locking compression plate (LCP) fixation to 3.5 limited contact dynamic compression plate (LC-DCP) fixation in a canine cadaveric, distal humeral metaphyseal gap model in static axial compression and cyclic axial compression and torsion. Introducción: La Disfunción cognitiva postoperatoria (DCPO) tiene una alta incidencia en pacientes de cirugía ortopédica. Durante la anestesia y la cirugía se produce un descenso progresivo de la temperatura. Esta hipotermia tiene efectos deletéreos pero también puede tener un efecto protector cerebral. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar as propriedades mecânicas e a liberação de íons de compósitos experimentais contendo DCPD após diferentes períodos de imersão. Nanopartículas de DCPD (10 vol%) foram incorporadas em misturas equimolares de BisGMA e TEGDMA ou BisEMA e TEGDMA.
