The box H/ACA snoRNAs are responsible for targeting pseudouridylation sites and the box C/D snoRNAs for directing 2’-O-methylation of ribonucleotides. A subclass that localize to the Cajal bodies,

Abstract:
In mixed-focus collaboration, group members create content both individually as a kind of groundwork for discussion and further processing as well as directly together in group work sessions. In case of individual creation, separate documents and contents need to be merged to receive an overall solution. In our work, we focus on mixed-focus collaboration using mobile devices, especially smartphones, to create and merge content. Instead of using emails or messenger services to share content within a group, we describe three different mobile device-based interaction techniques for merging that u

Abstract:
Constitutional amendments in federal political systems have to be negotiated between national and sub-national actors. While theories of negotiation usually explain the outcome by looking at these actors, their preferences and bargaining powers, the theoretical model developed in this article also includes their interaction orientation. The article determines a typical sequence of bargaining and arguing and identifies favourable conditions for cooperation based on different interaction orientations. The article states that actors can reconcile the conflicting logics of intergovernmental or par

Abstract:
The feedback between clouds and sea ice got more importance in the last years, because of the declining Arctic sea ice extent. Previous observations show the formation of low clouds over newly formed open water. These low clouds are very important for the Arctic Energy Budget, because they warm the surface. This leads to increasing temperatures and stronger sea ice loss. To assess the relationship between sea ice cover and cloudiness, satellite observations by DARDAR were compared with both global climate reanalyses ERA–Interim and MACC. The analysis focuses on 2007 – 2010 and the relationship

Electronic properties of solids are vitally important for modern technology, one may think of microelectronics, magnetic data storage, communication technologies and others. Sometimes, it seems possible to postpone the step of fundamental understanding when starting the application of a new material. However, lasting success and discovery of principally new approaches is based on it ...

Cloud drop condensation nuclei (CCN) and ice nuclei (IN) particles determine to a large extent cloud microstructure and, consequently, cloud albedo and the dynamic response of clouds to aerosol-induced changes to precipitation. This can modify the reflected solar radiation and the thermal radiation emitted to space. Measurements of tropospheric CCN and IN over large areas have not been possible and can be only roughly approximated from satellite-sensor-based estimates of optical properties of aerosols. Our lack of ability to measure both CCN and cloud updrafts precludes disentangling the effec

The conflicting demands connected from a side to the crossing of span always longer and from the other to the containment of the environmental impact of the structures set the necessity to critically re-examine the designing aspects that has brought to define the actual standards for the realization of long span cable bridges. In the case of fan-shaped scheme with "H" towers, the analysis of the statical behaviour of such structures through analytical approaches in closed form is currently founded on continuous models where the interaction between the girder and the cables is modeled through t
