Abstract:
A job is not only an economic factor for the individual; the work also has a great impact on the individual's well-being. It is therefore a prerequisite for employees to be happy at work, which places demands on the workplace. The purpose of the study is to investigate what soldiers and officers have for experiences of job satisfaction. This is answered by studying a specific company on an aircraft fleet within the Swedish Armed Forces based on these research questions: How do the informants experience their work situation at the company? What difficulties and opportunities can be identified based on the informants' work situation and how can these be understood? The thesis is based on a qualitative method and the empirical data has been collected through interviews with four officers and four soldiers. The theoretical framework is based on previous research on employees and job satisfaction, Herzberg's two-stage model and Karasek and Theorell's demand- control-support model. The results of the study show that both the soldiers and the officers feel that the high workload of the company causes the work situation to be perceived as worse. The informants also feel that they do not get paid for the work they do, that the workload prevents them from developing, that everyone does not get feedback in the way they had wanted and that the goals and requirements that are set for the function sometimes are too unclear. Furthermore, the results show that the officers and soldiers generally agree on how well-being is generally experienced at the company. The main difference between the soldiers and the officers is that the soldiers feel that their work situation is affected for the worse because they do not have the same powers to make decisions within the organization. What the informants especially feel is contributing to a more pleasant work situation is the good cohesion between the employees. The informants feel that their work situation is affected to a lesser extent by a number of aspects, but nevertheless the majority of the informants want to continue working at the company.

The competence of an enterprise is determined by its internal communication efficiency, product quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction. For achieving better production management, it is necessary to increase productivity, improve product quality and reduce costs. Except the above-mentioned factors, another important consideration for an engine overhaul company is how to reduce lead time to customer and let them can on-time install engine to running. The engine price of Airbus 320, the most popular airplane in 2014, is about USD 10,000,000. For Aviation companies, controlling cash flow by reducing engine stock and by increasing engine’s utilization rate is thus critical. The AT Company was founded in Taiwan more than 20 years ago. However, some of their core machines cannot be replaced for some reasons. It is a challenge for the production unit of AT Company to use the tools of total production management to perform preventive management on machines with unplanned downtime, core machines and share resources. This research uses tools of lean process to solve unplanned down time issue by categorized equipment, build up daily walk around list and D.I.V.E.(Define、Investigate、Verify、Ensure). This thesis uses AT company’s vacuum furnace as an example to introduce D.I.V.E. tools to reduce the risk of machine stop due to aging and provide teaching guidance for the enterprise when they promote the lean processes.

Aerospace and aircraft technology, structured by numerous cutting- edge basic sciences, needs support of plenty of industries. Most countries possessing advanced aerospace and aircraft technology also superiorly hold other non-military industries, such as automobile, information, communication industries, and so forth. This study mainly investigates how these cutting-edge technologies diffuse to the application of civil industry and still expand to totally different new technologies. In the past there were some papers utilizing patent citation to measure knowledge diffusion, this study will further explore the relationship between multi-generation patent citation and knowledge diffusion. This research employs each generation, concentration of assignee countries and technology proximity to present scope and rate of knowledge diffusion. This research takes Hughes Aircraft Company as a case study, and applies its related patents of Very Small Aperture Terminals to be research target. As the result of empirical analysis, these 21 patents successfully diffused to 33 countries and 115 varied technology fields. In addition, in the diffusion scope, every citation generation generate more extensive range of diffusion, and Japan is the most prompt country of absorbing knowledge in spite of US, but Taiwan and Korea is relatively backward.

ABSTRACT In-role behavior of employees could be managed by the regular behavioral norm, but the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors(OCB)are spontaneous behaviors beyond formal organizational legitimate system, and , in the aggregate, promote effective functioning of the organization. These informal organizational behaviors are not usually captured by traditional job descriptions and thus are more likely to be influenced by employees’ psychological state. In general, the employee who has higher attachment and the Organizational Commitment(OC)to organization will show more OCB. There were also lots of researches indicate that OC has significance influence on OCB. To understand the antecedents of OC, we could pay attention on the purpose of employee to join the organization and their perceived Job Characteristics. According to the Equity Theory, the purpose of employee to be in the organization is to exchange the benefit he doesn’t have, and, furthermore, they will compare with the others to determine the norm of his pay. Perception of unfairness will negatively influence the OC, and also indirectly influence the OCB. By contrast, researcher also had suggested that enrichment of job characteristics could motivate employee and influence OC positively. Hence, this research suggested that to consider the potential motivating of rich Job Characteristics and the perception of Organizational Justice could help predict OCB. In the past, the researches had suggested the relationships of OC and its antecedents (e.g., Job Characteristics and Perception of Organizational Justice) or OC and OCB, but they usually did not test overall measurements entirely and adopt path analysis of the whole construct. So, their research results often only indicated the partial relationships of the constructs. It is important to integrate the related research results, and adopt the path analysis to clarify the causal relationships among the constructs stated above. For this reason, this research accorded to the concepts discussed previously and the past researches being reviewed to set up hypothesis and the framework of the research. Then, this research adopted the two-step procedural analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the research framework and try to understand the integrated results of path analysis with Job Characteristics, Perception of Organizational Justice, OC, and OCB. Because of the path model is built first time, this research aimed the small samples of aircraft engine maintenance department which has several kinds of employee (e.g., the on-the-spot worker, engineer, employee who is responsible for accounting or general affairs) to avoid too many unconstrained variables. Besides, there are foreign employees whose native language is not the Chinese in the department, so the questionnaire is listed both in Chinese and English. The test of the integrated path model suggested below: 1.OCB toward Organization and OCB toward Individual are indeed affected by the affective OC. 2.The Potential Motivating of Job Characteristics and the perception of Distributive Justice are all significant antecedents of OC, and the effect of perception of Distributive Justice is stronger than Potential Motivating. 3.Perception of Distributive Justice will be affected by the perception of Procedural Justice. Finally, by the analytical results and conclusions, this study suggested severeal managerial implications for the case department and some discussions for future research.

Flight safety is a key factor in the aviation industry, and the aircraft engine repair is direct impact to flight safety. There is establishment requirement for engine repair station for each civil aviation agency. To compliance with civil aviation regulatory requirements the repair station should follow the engine manufacturer technical data for engine repair. The training and qualification system for repair staffs of repair station is directly related to the maintenance quality. Keeping repair staff skills to a certain level will help to decrease the human error occurred, reduce the rework cost and increase repair efficiency. According to the civil aviation regulatory requirements, repair station should have a training and qualification system to ensure the competency of repair staffs. However, there is only initial training/qualification requirement and lack of periodic training/qualification criteria. This research takes an aircraft engine component repair station A as a real case to study. The repair station A only has the initial training/qualification requirements for repair staffs and can’t detect the skills degradation for multi-skills repair staff parts. This caused a direct result of reduced work efficiency affect the delivery time, rework for poor repair quality and high cost of poor quality rework. In this research we recommend and help repair station A to build a periodic re-qualification system for repair staffs. Three examiners carried out the competency test for all repair staffs in 4 categories: practical performance, manual understanding, standard work and outcome quality. The re-qualification system helps to find the current skills competency status and discover skill degradation staffs and provide remedial training to them. It is workable to ensure repair staffs skill competency, decrease human error occurrence and reduce the cost of rework of poor quality

In Taiwan, industry of ground handling services for airlines is a small number of industries that were regulated by the government. The operation patterns and processes were used in accordance with the traditional model for many years. Since 2010, because of the stable policy of both sides across the Taiwan Strait, the demand for air transport in Taiwan had grown so significantly that passenger and cargo traffic then had been climbing continuously year by year. Customers needed transportation operations to be more time-efficient and achieve higher quality. In addition, the airlines' requirements for the rate of arrival on time and loading reached were higher than ever. The traditional mode of operation was not efficient enough, so it is impossible to use to save manpower, the time of operation, and the cost of operations. Traditional information transmission of ground handling services for airlines had been gradually unable to meet the high growth of business volume and operational requirements. However, because of the special and professional, a completely foreign practice was not suitable for ground support services for airlines in Taiwan. Coupled with the importation of foreign systems had to spend very high construction costs, the case company decided to develop a set of its own application systems. Through the continuous discussion and adjustment of the mode of operation, and widely adopted new technologies, a management system of ground handling services was finally built. This system was used in Taoyuan International Airport. The electronic information transmission and tracking management helped improve the quality of operations, and further ensure the safety of flight. Managers could also learn about the operational issues and adjust them from the detailed job information recorded in the system and related statistics and analysis information, including steps, time, items, locations and so on. The case company had then become a professional ground handling services company with discipline, skill, innovation, quality and safety. Therefore, it has been keeping competitive in the industry for a long time and offering customers and airlines more secure and quality of ground support services.

Abstract:
The aeronautical industry is evolving very rapidly mainly due to the development of technology. These technological advances have allowed the Man to develop projects that are very ambitious as is the case of "flying cars". This concept has been developed since the '80s, but only now have arisen prototypes capable of satisfying this dream. With this, the appearance of VTOL aircraft, aircraft capable of taking off and landing vertically, without needing any runways to do so. For this project, helicopters are not considered as VTOL aircraft because they are not very energy efficient. Many companies have developed VTOL aircraft, with design and consequently characteristics very different from each other, but having in common being hybrid or fully electric aircraft. For this study, a "fictitious" airline company was created using VTOL aircraft. The service characterization was then carried out, where using localization algorithms and trajectory optimization, we were able to elaborate an application (software) that treats the data of the flights to the marked ones by clients to optimize the routes/trajectories of the flights. Then the elaboration of a model and a business plan was made, and it is possible to observe the viability of the economic-financial results of the new (fictitious) company.
