In this paper we describe a data set collected by an autonomous ground vehicle testbed, based upon a modified Ford F-250 pickup truck. The vehicle is outfitted with a professional (Applanix POS-LV) and consumer (Xsens MTi-G) inertial measurement unit, a Velodyne three-dimensional lidar scanner, two push-broom forward-looking Riegl lidars, and a Point Grey Ladybug3 omnidirectional camera system. Here we present the time-registered data from these sensors mounted on the vehicle, collected while driving the vehicle around the Ford Research Campus and downtown Dearborn, MI, during November–Decembe

Abstract:
Detection of DNA‐molecule interaction can be challenging. Knowing that Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) can be inhibited by interfering agents, this interaction was exploited as a potential assay. Using whole plasmid and DNA fragments, the ability of small molecules to inhibit the PCR reaction was studied under diverse conditions and testing several potential inhibitors.Support or Funding InformationUniversity of MI Dearborn campus grants

Abstract:
Purification of DNA from tissues can be carried out by several methods. The ease of purification, yield and functionality of the DNA isolated varies depending on the method used. Using both frozen and fresh chick embryos, we tested several kits and traditional methods. Comparative analysis of the yields, purity, and integrity of fresh tissue versus frozen tissue were measured.Support or Funding InformationUniversity of Michigan Dearborn Campus Grants

Abstract:
Riboflavin Binding Protein is a transport glyco‐phospho‐protein found in all oviparous species, required for transport of the vitamin riboflavin needed for proper embryonic development. A mutant strain of chickens cannot synthesize the protein; the embryos lacking riboflavin die after the thirteenth day of incubation. DNA was extracted from the embryos. Several kits were utilized and compared to determine the best method to isolate pure DNA in large yield. Sequence comparisons to wild‐type white leghorn chickens are used to confirm the DNA sequence causing the mutation.Support or Funding Infor
