Abstract:
The 2019 Presidential Debate contained in the Qur'an about the Jadal verses through the Dialectic Communication perspective also by studying more deeply and philosophically. This discussion leads the author to discuss the science of communication and the Qur'an with stories and history in a special discussion: about the schedule that arises due to the "message" that comes after there is news of a saliha woman opened by Khaulah bint Tsa'labah; about the Qur'an quoting itself in discussions with the dialectic of the Jadal concept through forms of communication (guidance and revelation) conveyed to the Apostles and humans on earth; The Muslim Ummah needs the Qur'an from an oral tradition that is moving towards the written tradition (the tabi'in, Islamic scholars and thinkers and so on) in analyzing Jadal, where the classical tradition would never be expected. Next schedule; about the form of Jadal in the Al-Qur'an needs to be reviewed transmitted and transformed in the present and future context, such as in the contestation of the Presidential Debate, Pilgub, Pilkada, even in social, cultural, ideological, and religious (Islamic) discourses. Through literature study methods with thematic analysis understanding Jadal in the Qur'an can be analyzed in a complete and objective manner. The implication, as part of the science of communication in the frame of the Qur'an, Jadal understanding has a strong significance because it can enlighten human insight into morality morals.

Abstract:
Relying primarily on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and The National EFL Syllabus, this paper focuses on the highest ranking goals within formal foreign language (L2) education: the development of communicative competence (which the communicative paradigm regards as the most important goal of contemporary language teaching), and of critical thinking (CT) ability, which is widely recognised as the main general education goal. It also points to some of the discrepancies generated by tensions between the fact that language is a social and cultural phenomenon that exists and evolves only through interaction with others, and individual-student-centred pedagogical practices of teaching (and assessment) – which jeopardise the validity of these practices. Next, it links the official educational goals to the cultivation of oral interaction (rather than oral production) in argumentative discursive practices in general and in structured debate formats in particular, which are proposed as an effective pedagogical method for developing CT skills and oral interactional competence in argumentative discursive events, especially on B2+ levels.

Abstract:
In a 1959 survey of 2,706 ministers of the Churches of Christ, an American denomination that grew out of the nineteenth-century reform movement of Alexander Campbell, the rhetorician James Swinney discovered 215 preachers who said that they had conducted public oral debates as a way of attracting converts and defending their tradition. During the previous half-century, they had held around 4,400 debates, each lasting from one to fourteen days, mainly in the rural areas and small towns of the South and lower Midwest. Another student of Campbell's movement has compiled a list of more than 9,000 such debates, around 500 in the nineteenth century and more than 8,500 in the twentieth. The forensic superstars included regional celebrities like J. D. Tant of Texas, who held more than 350 such contests between 1885 and 1941 and who argued that four people would attend a debate for every one who attended a worship service. His assertion calls for qualification, but it reminds us of a practice that once attracted widespread attention and that has continued to flourish in parts of American Protestantism.

Abstract:
AbstractCoumarin anticoagulants era (warfarin, acenocumarol) seems to be coming to an end with the launch of the novel anticoagulants like dabigatran, rivaroxaban, apixaban and edoxaban. Dabigatran (Pradaxa) is a prothrombin (factor II) inhibitor that doesn't necessitate monitoring by coagulation tests, doesn't have food or drug interactions, except for P-gp inhibitors. Rivaroxaban (Xarelto) is a direct inhibitor of factor X and is approved for the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and for the prevention of deep venous thrombosis in patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery (hip and knee prosthesis). Apixaban (Eliquis) is a direct inhibitor of factor X and is indicated for the prevention of venous thromboembolic events in patients undergoing hip or knee arthroplasty, the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and treatment or prevention of recurrences in patients with deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. Edoxaban (Savaysa), recently approved is USA, is a direct inhibitor of factor X and is indicated for deep venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and for the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. The most recent studies focus on antidotes specifically designed to bind and neutralise the anticoagulant activity of both direct thrombin inhibitors and direct factor Xa inhibitors. The drugs currently being studied are idarucizumab, a specific antidote, andexanet alfa, a class-specific antidote and ciraparantag, a universal antidote. Of these, only idarucizumab was approved by the FDA.

The April issue of the FDJ was devoted to a series of articles about the specialty of oral surgery (OS), relating to both work and workforce. A twin track response by UK oral and maxillofacial surgeons may be summarised as a feeling that the debate so far has been rather one-sided and has not included any contribution from oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and a feeling that the Faculty of Dental Surgery (FDS) is less interested in and supportive of the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) than it used to be (regardless of whether this is true).

Abstract:
There is a disturbing trend emerging in South African history. Unquestioning acceptance of African oral tradition threatens to become a requirement of politically correct scholarship. The African voice knows all. Julian Cobbing has been sharply criticized for ignoring oral evidence in his revision of early nineteenth-century South African history. Cobbing claims that African migration and state formation in the 1820s was caused by the illegal activities of colonial slave raiders who covered up their operations by claiming that the Zulu kingdom under Shaka had laid waste to the interior of southern Africa. This cover story was incorporated into South African history as the mfecane (or crushing) and served to justify white supremacy by portraying blacks as inherently violent. Carolyn Hamilton attacks Cobbing for ignoring the African voice which allegedly supports the orthodox mfecane by placing Shaka at the center of events. In response, Cobbing claims that the largest record of Zulu oral evidence was distorted by James Stuart, the colonial official who collected it at the turn of the last century. Although Elizabeth Eldredge rejects the Zulucentric mfecane in favor of a broad compromise theory based on environmental and trade factors plus the activities of a few Griqua labor-raiders on the High veld, she accused Cobbing of developing a Eurocentric hypothesis which robs Africans of initiative within their own history. More critically, Jeffrey Peires, whose work on the Xhosa is deeply rooted in the conventional mfecane, describes Cobbing as “a reactionary wolf dressed up in the clothing of a progressive sheep” and implies that his ideas are nothing short of racist.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
This research used a qualitative approach to focus on the classroom debate between Malaysian English second language learners (ESL). Since debate has been often perceived as not a suitable activity for low proficiency students due to their limited linguistic resources, there has not been much emphasis on the impact of debate on incompetent ESL learners; however, this study was an attempt to concentrate on two students who were not competent in English to investigate their oral development via debate. The study observed the communicative strategies employed in this challenging task during the five debate rounds. Although the progress made was quite limited, the study showed that debate competition can be a relevant and meaningful practice for speaking activity among low proficiency students. Moreover, it showed that debate can be used to scaffold students’ practice in speaking.

Abstract:
The role of human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) in oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMD) and oral cavity carcinoma (OC) is still under debate. We investigated HPV16 prevalence in unstimulated saliva, oral rinse samples, oral swabs and tumour biopsies collected from OPMD (n = 83) and OC (n = 106) patients. HPV16 genotype, viral load, physical status (episomal vs. integrated) and tumour p16INK4a expression were determined. Oral HPV16 prevalence was higher in OC than in OPMD, but this difference was not statistically significant (7.5% (8/106) versus 3.6% (3/83), odds ratio (OR): 2.18, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.56, 8.48, p = 0.26). There was a significant association (p < 0.05) between oral HPV16 infection and heavy tobacco consumption. Real-time PCR results indicated that no integration events occurred in either OPMD or OC cases based on the HPV16 E2/E6 ratio. HPV16 positive OPMD and OC patients had similar HPV16 E2 and E6 viral loads. The inter-rater agreement between tumour p16INK4a expression and oral HPV16 infection was considered as fair (k = 0.361) for OC. Our data suggest that the involvement of HPV16 in oral carcinogenesis is limited.

Abstract:
The trigging off agent for multiple sclerosis (MS) is despite intensive epidemiological and biomedical research still unknown. The disease is typically diagnosed in reproductive age and recent findings have suggested that MS could be a sexually transmitted disease. Aim To assess the influence of different sexual practices in young age on the risk of developing MS, and specifically to explore the possible impact of oral sex and oral sperm exposure on this risk. Design National case—control study. Methods Inclusion: Danish women with a first time MS discharge diagnosis from a neurological department at most 40 years old during the period 1998—2005, and an age and geographically matched control group. The response rate to our postal questionnaires was 75% for cases and 61% for controls. A total of 604/619 completed case/control questionnaires were included in the analysis. Data underwent logistic regression analysis. Results We found no difference between women with and without MS for years of schooling, oral herpes infections, genital herpes, blood transfusions, age at sexual debut, age at coital debut, number of sexual partners before and after age 20 years, anal sex, condyloma attack or chlamydia infections. Family disposition with an affected father, mother or sibling, increased the risk of MS 9.1, 6.9 and 4.1 times, respectively. A total of 68% of cases and of 72% of controls had oral sex sometimes or often before their 20th year. Among women entertaining oral sex, 53%, respectively, 54% had experienced oral sperm exposure. Also oral sex after 20 years was similar in women with and without MS. Conclusion Neither oral sex in early reproductive age, oral sperm exposure, oral sex after 20 years, sexual debut, nor number of sexual partners had any association to the risk of later developing MS. This study does not support the hypothesis that MS is a sexually transmitted or acquired disease. Multiple Sclerosis 2008; 14: 67—72. http://msj.sagepub.com

Abstract:
The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is highly contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). COVID-19 infections are usually associated with acute respiratory symptoms along with fever, myalgia, fatigue, altered taste and smell sensation. However, some oral cavity manifestations have been found in COVID-19 patients. There is debate whether these oral cavity manifestations are due to SARS-CoV-2 infection or secondary to patient’s systemic condition. Currently research shows that SARS-CoV-2 affect the respiratory tract and other organs those have angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptors. ACE2 receptors are abundantly present in the oral cavity tissues which prone for SARS-CoV-2 infection. The oral cavity lesions in COVID-19 patient ranges from ulcers in the oral cavity to candidiasis, recurrent herpes simplex, geographical tongue, mucositis and petechiae. COVID-19 infection significantly affects the oral cavity and salivary glands. Gustatory dysfunction or dysgeusia is a common oral cavity manifestation of COVID-19 patient. Clinicians should keep in mind about different lesions of the oral cavity and taste disturbances of the COVID-19 patients which will help the early diagnosis, treatment and avoid morbidity of the patient. There is still debate on exact cause for oral manifestations of the COVID-19 infections and its impact. This review article discusses the details of this neglected clinical entity such as oral cavity lesions in COVID-19 patients.
