Abstract:
This paper investigates how Indonesia should manage its massive debt burden arising from the Asian financial crisis, which led to increased external debt and, more significantly, increased domestic debt related to the country's bank restructuring program. Indonesia's enormous outstanding debt puts pressure on the balance of payments, causes severe budget constraints, and creates a huge future debt burden that brings with it the risks of illiquidity and default. The following measures are recommended for an effective debt management program: encourage rapid growth and ensure macroeconomic stabi

<p>Self-Admitted Technical Debt (SATD) is a workaround for current gains and subsequent software quality in software comments. Some studies have been conducted using NLP-based techniques or CNN-based classifiers. However, there exists a class imbalance problem in different software projects since the software code comments with SATD features are significantly less than those without Non-SATD. Therefore, to design a classification model with the ability of dealing with this class imbalance problem is necessary for SATD detection. We propose an improved loss function based on information e

Nowadays, firms tend to outsource security operations to professional managed security service providers (MSSPs) as a result of the sophistication of strategic hackers. Thus, how an MSSP makes security decisions according to a strategic hacker’s action is worth researching. Constructing a contract theory model, this paper examines the interaction between an MSSP and a strategic hacker based on both parties’ characteristics. We find that the hacker will give up less valuable information assets, and thus not all information assets are worth protecting for the MSSP. For both parties, their optima

An increase in left ventricular (LV) extracellular volume (ECV) is an important parameter of LV morphology and is considered synonymous with myocardial fibrosis, as well as a reliable marker of myocardial injury and impaired cardiac function. Accurate methods for detecting and assessing myocardial fibrosis are very important for clinical practice. The current standard for myocardial fibrosis imaging is delayed gadolinium enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or T1 mapping, but these techniques have limitations. They can be avoided by using dual-energy computed tomography (DECT), wh

In recent years, countries have started to develop and issue innovative debt instruments, with the development of financial technologies contributing to this trend. One such innovative debt instrument is sukuk. Sovereign (public) sukuk issuance began in 2001 and has since continued to grow steadily. Sovereign sukuk are issued by countries with a majority Muslim population, as well as by countries with significant Muslim populations, where the majority of the population is non-Muslim. As a result of these developments, sovereign sukuk issuance exceeded $100 billion. At present, countries issue

The performance of a three-span integrated bridge is evaluated and compared with a conventional bridge for unidirectional and bi-directional excitation. The conventional bridge deck is connected to abutment through elastomers and the pinned connection is assumed at pier location. The height of the piers is 9.5 m, and the central and end spans are 38.0 m and 15.5 m respectively. A nonlinear time history analysis of the bridge is performed by using CSI Bridge software, for unidirectional and bi-directional excitation. The responses of the integrated bridge are compared with those of the conventi

Abstract:
This study presents a microscale framework for investigating the seismic stability of bridge-pier structures using the discrete element method (DEM), with a focus on rocking isolation mechanisms. The piers and the deck are modeled as rigid blocks that follow rigid body dynamics. The rigid block is modeled as a collection of glued particles with geometrical arrangement and physical properties that mimic an actual block. To facilitate numerical contact points between the base of the block and the flat base wall, smaller particle sizes were introduced at the base of the block. A Hertz contact mod
