Abstract:
Based on a Reinforced Urn Process introduced by Muliere et al. [11], we propose a stochastic model for the probability of credit default for debt issuers belonging to the same Moody's rated class. The model predicts how a default probability belonging to a given term structure evolves in time as information about credit defaults of debt issuers with the same Moody's rating becomes available. Connections between implied credit default probabilities and credit spreads will be exploited.

In a small auditory corpus study of radio transcripts, we establish that such structures overwhelmingly occur with contrastive pitch accents on the correlate and remnant ( the quiz and the final, or Danielle and Kayla), and that there is a strong bias to pair the remnant with the most local plausible correlate in production. This paper is the first in the Canadian legal literature to address “tax elections”, which bestow upon taxpayers the ability to choose among two or more available tax treatments for a single taxable event. The survival probability term structure has become the main concept in modeling credit risk for pricing, risk management, and investment decisions. The Kth-to-default contract is not only a relatively liquid credit risk instrument but also a vehicle that credit rating agencies employ to determine the rating of more esoteric credit risky positions. In this paper, we point out some subtleties in credit risk modeling of default baskets and also identify some potential bias in the pricing formula of the Kth-to-default contract. Abstract:
Organizational knowledge management resources are a combination of articles, guidelines, and process documents. The content in these resources typically ranges from about a few words to a few hundred words. These pieces of content are called medium-sized content. While most organizations do not pose a limit on how long or short each content piece should be, most content sizes default to this limit due to various reasons. Assigning a metadata and taxonomy to the medium-sized content pieces are challenging because of a limited number of repetition of keywords, the limited size of the content, and the existence of other content without which this content is not conceptually complete. This results in challenges for knowledge managers in organizing and structuring this content as well as making it intelligent enough for search engines and business intelligence tools. This chapter presents an approach to creating metadata for these content pieces by proposing a three structure metadata consisting of a static part, a dynamic part, and a conceptual part that links to other pieces of related information.

Abstract:
The growing proliferation of data in firms around the world have made analytics a success factor for business growth, and by default, achieving greater performance. This research proposes a data analytics model for marketing decision making. Literature was reviewed, and several key factors for the growth of the family business were identified. In addition, 140 marketing managers from family and non-family firms in Spain were surveyed. Four key factors were identified to implement a data analytics project. An empirical model is presented, which allows visualizing the relationships that generate quality information. Data analytics is a competitive advantage for recognized firms in the world; however, there is an underutilization of information by the family business. This chapter allows reducing the gap between competitors, regardless of their ownership structure. Therefore, it declares a challenge and an opportunity for the family firm.

Abstract:
Sequences of neuronal patterns are not always imposed on brain circuits in an outside-in manner by the sensory inputs. Internally organized processes can sustain self-organized and coordinated neuronal activity even without external inputs. A prerequisite of cognition is the availability of internally generated neuronal sentences. Self-generated, sequentially evolving activity is the default state of affairs in most neuronal circuits. Neuronal activity moves perpetually, and its trajectory depends only on initial conditions. Large recurrent networks can generate an enormous number of trajectories without prior experience. On the other hand, each is available to be matched by experience to “represent” something useful for the downstream reader mechanisms. The richness of the information depends not on the numbers of generated sequences but on the reader mechanisms. It is typically the reader structure that initiates the transfer of information, coordinating the onset of messages from multiple senders.

Civil justice follows a similar pattern to its criminal counterpart; however, some of the procedural rules—specifically those relating to evidence—appear to be much more relaxed than in the criminal justice system. During the process of civil justice, a number of issues may arise which would bring the procedure to an end. These issues include ADR, through which parties may decide to settle the case at any point; default judgment, wherein judgment may be entered against a defendant at any point in the proceedings; and offers to settle, known as ‘Part 36 Offers’, in which an individual makes an offer to another without prejudice.

Abstract:
Today’s technology allows storing vast quantities of information from different sources in nature. This information has missing values, nulls, internal variation, taxonomies, and rules. We need a new type of data analysis that allows us represent the complexity of reality, maintaining the internal variation and structure (Diday, 2003). In Data Analysis Process or Data Mining, it is necessary to know the nature of null values - the cases are by absence value, null value or default value -, being also possible and valid to have some imprecision, due to differential semantic in a concept, diverse sources, linguistic imprecision, element resumed in Database, human errors, etc (Chavent, 1997). So, we need a conceptual support to manipulate these types of situations. As we are going to see below, Symbolic Data Analysis (SDA) is a new issue based on a strong conceptual model called Symbolic Object (SO). A “SO” is defined by its “intent” which contains a way to find its “extent”. For instance, the description of habitants in a region and the way of allocating an individual to this region is called “intent”, the set of individuals, which satisfies this intent, is called “extent” (Diday 2003). For this type of analysis, different experts are needed, each one giving their concepts.

Abstract:
Default reasoning can provide a means of deriving plausible semantic conclusion under imprecise and contradictory information in forensic visual surveillance. In such reasoning under uncertainty, proper uncertainty handling formalism is required. A discrete species of Bilattice for multivalued default logic demonstrated default reasoning in visual surveillance. In this article, the authors present an approach to default reasoning using subjective logic that acts in a continuous space. As an uncertainty representation and handling formalism, subjective logic bridges Dempster Shafer belief theory and second order Bayesian, thereby making it attractive tool for artificial reasoning. For the verification of the proposed approach, the authors extend the inference scheme on the bilattice for multivalued default logic to L-fuzzy set based logics that can be modeled with continuous species of bilattice structures. The authors present some illustrative case studies in visual surveillance scenarios to contrast the proposed approach with L-fuzzy set based approaches.

Abstract:
Abstract The goal of updating methods in dynamic is to improve the finite element models by means of experimental tests. In fact, we try to estimate a better value of the mass (M) and stiffness (K) matrices. Several ways are possible to complete the updating of M and K : - Global techniques which consist to correct the entire matrices without keeping a physical meaning of the M and K modifications. This approach transforms the finite element “knowledge” models into “representation” models which are more accurate in the measured frequency range but don’t represent the actual structure. This kin

Abstract:
The need for application of probabilistic methods to fatigue life prediction of gas turbine engine components is being increasingly recognized by the U.S. Military. A physics-based probabilistic approach to risk assessment provides improved accuracy compared to a statistical assessment of failure data because it can be used to (1) predict future risk and (2) assess the influences of both deterministic and random variables that are not included in the failure data. Probabilistic risk and fatigue life prediction of gas turbine engine fracture critical components requires estimates of the applied

Abstract:
1.1 Macroeconomic summary Economic recovery has consistently outperformed the technical staff’s expectations following a steep decline in activity in the second quarter of 2020. At the same time, total and core inflation rates have fallen and remain at low levels, suggesting that a significant element of the reactivation of Colombia’s economy has been related to recovery in potential GDP. This would support the technical staff’s diagnosis of weak aggregate demand and ample excess capacity. The most recently available data on 2020 growth suggests a contraction in economic activity of 6.8%, lowe
