In this work we have obtained the equation of state to the highly asymmetric dense stellar matter, using the nonlinear Walecka model in the mean field approximation. We discussed the implication of changes in coupling constant of the delta baryonic resonance on the observable of the neutron star. A detailed analysis of the equation of state and of the baryonic effective mass in respect to changes in the delta coupling constants is carried out. We focus attention on a new aspect observed for pressure when varying the baryonic density of the medium; a first order phase transition like a liquid-g

In the present work we study the equation of state for asymmetric hadronic matter, to be applied in neutron star structure calculation. The delta-rich hadronic stellar matter condensate is studied in the context of mean-field approximation in an extended Walecka's theory version, including the Rarita–Schwinger 3/2-spinor to the hadronic sector. The leptonic sector is also incorporated in beta-equilibrium to the dense stelar medium composition. The role of neutrino trapping for the the formed photo-neutron structure including delta matter in its composition is discussed.

The color–flavor locked (CFL) phase is believed to be the fundamental state of strange quark matter (SQM) at high densities. The CFL phase is a color superconductor composed of pairs of u, d and s quarks, with no electrons, forming a Bose condensate. In this work, we analyze a possible phase transition of hadronic matter made of nucleons, Δ–resonances, hyperons and leptons, to CFL superconducting quark matter. An equation of state taking into account this phase transition is employed to determine the characteristics of a hybrid star. The role of the color superconducting gap on the hybrid star

Nationalism: Past as Prologue began as a single volume being compiled by Ad Akande, a scholar from South Africa, who proposed it to me as co-author about two years ago. The original idea was to examine how the damaging roots of nationalism have been corroding political systems around the world, and creating dangerous obstacles for necessary international cooperation. Since I (Bruce E. Johansen) has written profusely about climate change (global warming, a.k.a. infrared forcing), I suggested a concerted effort in that direction. Abstract:
The convergence of information and communication technology as embodied in the Internet has transformed the present day society into a knowledge society. Earlier, information and knowledge were passed by word of mouth or through manuscripts, and communication was a slow process, but today information is passed from one individual to an infinite number of other users through a number of media and formats which makes rapid and widespread dissemination of information possible (Preeti, 2006). This information dissemination has been so easy today due to the advent of computer network. Computer network is the interconnection of two or more computers for the purpose of sharing resources; this may involve the sharing of common database, software, printer etc. In networking, one may use peer-to-peer model or the client/server model. The peer-to-peer model is a decentralized networking model, which means all account administration is local to each machine and each machine maintains its own account database. In this model, each computer is equal or “peer” of the others. None of the members has total control over the others. This networking may involve the use of hub if the systems are more than two but none of the workstation has total control of the others. However, client/server type of network model is the type of network model, which is defined by the presence of server on the network that provides security and administration of the network. The server enables centralized database security and backup (Adogbeji & Adomi, 2005). In order for the cyber cafés in Nigeria to be able to have access to the entire world and give access to users, there comes the need to network their computers. This they do using client/server model and star topology. This chapter investigates networking patterns in cybercafes in Delta state. It explores the types of network adopted locally, types of networking model adopted in the cafes, reasons for adopting the models, types of networking topology adopted and problems inherited in the networking pattern adopted. Recommendations for improvement are also set forth.

Abstract:
Chapter two explores the range of white responses to the war on poverty, focusing on the role of the Mississippi Catholic Church in supporting a state-wide job training program. It also tells the story of Marjorie Baroni, a white Catholic from Natchez, Mississippi who played a role in forging a biracial war on poverty in her local community. Baroni’s role illustrates not only the way in which the war on poverty provided opportunities for integration but also for women. Not simply through the “professionalization” of maternalism but also in roles as co-ordinators, administrators, and program directors. Following the creation of STAR—Strategic Training and Redevelopment—this chapter exposes the ways in which religious activism interacted with federally funded antipoverty efforts, from the Diocese of Natchez-Jackson to the Delta Ministry.

In recent years, environmental security in the coastal Niger Delta has had a growing scholarly interest from divergent perspectives seeking for broader elucidation and understanding of State policy response. These security threats notably oil spill, water and land pollution, gas flaring, acid rain, mangrove deforestation, etc are linked to the Multinational Oil Corporations (MNOCs)and oil resource exploitation. These have been perverse, resulting in ecological breakdown, vulnerability, emergency and environmental insecurity challenges since at least the 1970s when oil in the region became the main stay of Nigeria's economy. This conceptual paper builds on the political ecology framework which discusses the impact of global power asymmetry on natural resource extraction and extensive body of work in the broad field of environmental security to explore salient indicators which demonstrate the evidence of environmental insecurity threats and poor State policy response and made some recommendations.

Abstract:
From 1930 to 1970, a second folk music revival took hold in the United States and Europe, determined to capture and preserve for posterity US and European vernacular music. Critical to this collection of folklorists, academics, political activists, and entrepreneurs was the history and impact of African American music on folklore and culture. Big Bill, quite familiar with the types of country and Delta blues the folk music revival craved stood happy to oblige. Soon, one of the most sophisticated and urbane performers of the age began performing alone accompanied by his guitar for folk audiences from New York to Chicago. Within this community, Broonzy found a culture and environment willing and able to support his transitioning career from black pop star to folk music darling. Along the way, he would meet more individuals who could aid in his career reinvention and he both accepted and rejected their expectations of him and his music.

Abstract:
This chapter examines the trade model reflected in the Muziris papyrus, contrasting its peculiarities with those of other trade patterns between Egypt and the west coast of India. The history of trade relations between India and Egypt from Antiquity to the Early Modern era may be divided into periods based on the role played by the emporia in the Gulf of Aden, which over time operated either as stopovers for ships sailing all the way from Egypt to India (a direct sea-route system), or as intermediate meeting points for vessels sailing from each end of the sea route (a multi-stage sea-route system). At the time of the Muziris papyrus, while the South India trade still retained the old model, the commercial relationships with the Indus delta and Barygaza may have already evolved towards the multi-stage arrangement, which offered additional options. The westbound trips were able to benefit from the late north-east monsoon, and the eastbound voyages could use the early south-west monsoon as well. In terms of the pepper trade, this meant that while the Roman pepper carriers had to leave India by 13 January, the ships of the medieval pepper trade could stay in India for all of February and part of March.
