Abstract:
Abstract A demineralization process is carried out in industrial water treatment, and this process requires large amounts of chemicals that can increase the pollutant load of wastewater and harm ecosystems, biodiversity, and climate. Therefore, this study aims to analyze water efficiency and chemicals used in the water treatment process at the Demineralizer Plant. The analysis was carried out through a fishbone diagram and Nominal Group Technique (NGT) method to identify the problem so that the corrective solution is obtained, namely by backwashing the cation and anion resins periodically at 1

The characterization of coal provides valuable information on its composition, environmental effects, and applications. This study investigates the leachate elemental composition, physicochemical properties, morphology, mineralogy, functional groups, and thermal behaviour of the demineralised and demineralized coal deposits in Maiganga, Gombe State. Three modes of coal demineralization including mixed acid-alkali, acid, and alkali demineralization were tested. Abstract Power plant supply waters which have been processed through combinations of softening steps, sand filters and demineralizer beds can deliver microbial populations to components downstream of the treatment train. Although water chemistries remain within plant specifications, the sessile bacterial populations can remain high. Constant low levels of these organisms can be delivered to demineralized water storage and ultimately to plant systems and contribute to, or increase the potential for, MIC.
