The problems of formation of regional policy and stages of formation and growth of geodemography as modern scientific field of population geography were reviewed in details in the article. In the first stage, a central place in the system of knowledge of the population belongs to the demographics. The second stage are increased by interaction of demography with other sciences, including geography. At their junction, a new discipline – population geography. In the third stage are forming the new direction of population geography –geodemography which orientated to the study of regional differenc

This dissertation addresses the question of to what extent growing numbers of older people who might have similar preferences regarding public intergenerational transfers (family and pension policies) will limit the scope of future social policy reforms in Germany. We are interested in to what extent the shift in the country's demography will trigger a so-called "gerontocracy." As a theoretical framework, we combine Mannheim's concept of political generations with a demographic life-course approach. Megatrends affecting families are closely interconnected. Demographic change occurs as families adapt to changing social, economic, cultural, and environmental contexts. This change, in turn, can prompt migration both within and across national boundaries. Migration is linked to increasing urbanization as families seek to improve their wellbeing through resources typically concentrated in urban areas. Even so, as families migrate to urban areas, they may struggle to find adequate and affordable housing, sufficient food, suitable employment, care for dependent children and adults, and accessibl
