Abstract:
The DEFECTIVE EMBRYO AND MERISTEMS 1 (DEM1) gene encodes a protein of unknown biochemical function required for meristem formation and seedling development in tomato, but it was unclear whether DEM1’s primary role was in cell division or alternatively, in defining the identity of meristematic cells. Genome sequence analysis indicates that flowering plants possess at least two DEM genes. Arabidopsis has two DEM genes, DEM1 and DEM2, which we show are expressed in developing embryos and meristems in a punctate pattern that is typical of genes involved in cell division. Homozygous dem1 dem2 double mutants were not recovered, and plants carrying a single functional DEM1 allele and no functional copies of DEM2, i.e. DEM1/dem1 dem2/dem2 plants, exhibit normal development through to the time of flowering but during male reproductive development, chromosomes fail to align on the metaphase plate at meiosis II and result in abnormal numbers of daughter cells following meiosis. Additionally, these plants show defects in both pollen and embryo sac development, and produce defective male and female gametes. In contrast, dem1/dem1 DEM2/dem2 plants showed normal levels of fertility, indicating that DEM2 plays a more important role than DEM1 in gamete viability. The increased importance of DEM2 in gamete viability correlated with higher mRNA levels of DEM2 compared to DEM1 in most tissues examined and particularly in the vegetative shoot apex, developing siliques, pollen and sperm. We also demonstrate that gamete viability depends not only on the number of functional DEM alleles inherited following meiosis, but also on the number of functional DEM alleles in the parent plant that undergoes meiosis. Furthermore, DEM1 interacts with RAS-RELATED NUCLEAR PROTEIN 1 (RAN1) in yeast two-hybrid and pull-down binding assays, and we show that fluorescent proteins fused to DEM1 and RAN1 co-localize transiently during male meiosis and pollen development. In eukaryotes, RAN is a highly conserved GTPase that plays key roles in cell cycle progression, spindle assembly during cell division, reformation of the nuclear envelope following cell division, and nucleocytoplasmic transport. Our results demonstrate that DEM proteins play an essential role in cell division in plants, most likely through an interaction with RAN1.

Muy pocas veces en la historia del cine se han presentado casos de relaciones de afecto que duren para siempre, mucho menos entre realizadores. Sí se ha presentado entre el creador y su musa (lo de Federico Fellini y Giulieta Massina es cosa seria) o inclusive entre actores (por supuesto, no es el caso de Brad Pitt). Pero que dos directores de cine decidan unir sus vidas es realmente digno de mención. Pasó entre una belga que nos abandonó hace poco, chiquita pero muy vivaz y coqueta, y un director que bebió de los referentes clásicos de Hollywood para rubricar uno de los mejores musicales de la historia. Agnès Varda y Jacques Demy se prodigaron respeto, cariño y amor mientras estuvieron juntos, hasta que una terrible enfermedad se apoderó de Jacques y se lo llevó en 1990. Desde ese momento, Varda vivió el luto pero nunca dejó de rendir homenaje, recordar y proteger el legado de su esposo. Por eso la presente edición de CineScrúpulos se dedica a revisar la obra completa de ambos.

Bukan hanya saja musisi lokal akan tetapi musisi ternama sekalipun seperti Nella Kharisma juga mempopulerkan lagu yang berjudul ‘’Welas Hang Ring Kene & Ngelabur Langit’’. Bahkan musisi senior asal Catur Arum sudah terlebih dahulu memperkenalkan budaya Osing melalui lagu-lagu yang diciptakan. Dari peran para musisi tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengunaan bahasa Using dapat terus dilestarikan melalui musik di era serba digital. Abstract:
Introduction. Syringomyelia is a cavitary extension inside the spinal cord which can be either symptomatic or congenitally-idiopathic. Syringomyelia during the course of the disease in patients presenting with clinically definite multiple sclerosis was described earlier. Syringomyelia in patients presenting with a clinically isolated syndrome suggestive of multiple sclerosis is unusual. Case Outline. We present two patients presenting with demy-elinating disease of the central nervous system with syringomyelia in the cervical and thoracic spinal cord. We did not find classical clinical signs of syringomyelia in our patients, but we disclosed syringomyelia incidentally during magnetic resonance exploration. Magnetic resonance exploration using the gadolinium contrast revealed the signs of active demyelinating lesions in the spinal cord in one patient but not in the other. Conclusion. Syringomyelia in demyelinating disease of the central nervous system opens the question whether it is a coincidental finding or a part of clinical features of the disease. Differentiation of the significance of syringomyelia finding in these patients plays a role in the choice of treatment concept in such patients.

Abstract:
Digital elevation models (DEMs) are widely used raster data for different applications concerning terrain, such as for flood modelling, viewshed analysis, mining, land development, engineering design projects, to name a few. DEMs can be obtained through various methods, including topographic survey, LiDAR or photogrammetry, and internet sources. Terrestrial close-range photogrammetry is one of the alternative methods to produce DEMs through the processing of images using photogrammetry software. There are already powerful photogrammetry software that are commercially-available and can produce high-accuracy DEMs. However, this entails corresponding cost. Although, some of these software have free or demo trials, these trials have limits in their usable features and usage time. One alternative is the use of free and open-source software (FOSS), such as the Python Photogrammetry Toolbox (PPT), which provides an interface for performing photogrammetric processes implemented through python script. For relatively small areas such as in mining or construction excavation, a relatively inexpensive, fast and accurate method would be advantageous. In this study, PPT was used to generate 3D point cloud data from images of an open pit excavation. The PPT was extended to add an algorithm converting the generated point cloud data into a usable DEM.

Background: Research suggests that actuarial neuropsychological criteria improve the accuracy of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) diagnoses relative to conventional diagnostic methods. Objective: We sought to examine the utility of actuarial criteria relative to consensus diagnostic methods used in the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC) Uniform Data Set (UDS), and more broadly across the continuum of normal aging, MCI, and dementia. Methods: We compared rates of cognitively normal (CN), MCI, and dementia diagnoses at baseline using actuarial versus consensus diagnostic methods in 1524 individuals from the NACC UDS. Results: Approximately one-third (33.59%) of individuals diagnosed as CN and more than one-fifth (22.03%) diagnosed with dementia based on consensus methods, met actuarial criteria for MCI. Many participants diagnosed with MCI via consensus methods also appeared to represent possible diagnostic errors. Notably, the CNa/CNc group (i.e., participants diagnosed as CN based on both actuarial [a] and consensus [c] criteria) had a lower proportion of apolipoprotein E ɛ4 carriers than the MCIa/MCIc group, which in turn had a lower proportion of ɛ4 carriers than the dementia (Dem)a/Demc group. Proportions of ɛ4 carriers were comparable between the CNa/CNc and CNa/MCIc, MCIa/MCIc and MCIa/CNc, MCIa/MCIc and MCIa/Demc, and Dema/Demc and Dema/MCIc groups. These results were largely consistent with diagnostic agreement/discrepancy group comparisons on neuropsychological performance. Conclusion: The present results extend previous findings and suggest that actuarial neuropsychological criteria may enhance diagnostic accuracy relative to consensus methods, and across the wider continuum of normal aging, MCI, and dementia. Findings have implications for both clinical practice and research.

ABSTRACT Streptococcus dysgalactiae is one of the most important bacterial species isolated from bovine mastitis. To identify potential virulence factors of this species we prepared chromosomal DNA from strain 8215 and constructed a phage display library. By affinity selection of the library against fibrinogen (Fg), we isolated and characterized a gene, called demA, encoding a protein with the molecular mass of ∼58 kDa, called DemA, displaying both plasma protein binding properties and sequence similarities with the M and M-like proteins of other streptococcal species. Purified recombinant DemA protein was found to completely inhibit Fg-binding to cells ofS. dysgalactiae. A continued sequence analysis revealed that the demA gene was preceded by an open reading frame (dmgA) coding for a putative protein, called DmgA, with high similarities to the Mga proteins of Streptococcus pyogenes. By additional cloning, the correspondingdmgA and demA genes from another strain, called Epi9, were isolated and analyzed. These genes, called dmgBand demB, respectively, revealed a high degree of similarity to the corresponding genes in strain 8215. Increased binding of Fg by cells of strain Epi9, grown in an atmosphere with 10% CO2, was correlated to an enhanced transcription of thedemB gene as shown in a Northern blot. Strain 8215 did not respond to CO2, which could be explained by a nonfunctionaldmgA gene due to insertion of an insertion sequence element. Based on sequence similarities of the described proteins to Mga, M, and M-like proteins and the response to elevated level of CO2, we suggest that the dmg anddem genes are members of a regulon similar to the describedmga regulon in S. pyogenes, which encodes several virulence factors in this species.

Abstract. A high resolution Digital Elevation Model with a ground resolution of 2 m×2 m (DEM2) was obtained for the Collazzone area, central Umbria, through weighted linear interpolation of elevation points acquired by Airborne Lidar Swath Mapping. Acquisition of the elevation data was performed on 3 May 2004, following a rainfall period that resulted in numerous landslides. A reconnaissance field survey conducted immediately after the rainfall period allowed mapping 70 landslides in the study area, for a total landslide area of 2.7×105 m2. Topographic derivative maps obtained from the DEM2 were used to update the reconnaissance landslide inventory map in 22 selected sub-areas. The revised inventory map shows 27% more landslides and 39% less total landslide area, corresponding to a smaller average landslide size. Discrepancies between the reconnaissance and the revised inventory maps were attributed to mapping errors and imprecision chiefly in the reconnaissance field inventory. Landslides identified exploiting the Lidar elevation data matched the local topography more accurately than the same landslides mapped using the existing topographic maps. Reasons for the difference include an incomplete or inaccurate view of the landslides in the field, an unfaithful representation of topography in the based maps, and the limited time available to map the landslides in the field. The high resolution DEM2 was compared to a coarser resolution (10 m×10 m) DEM10 to establish how well the two DEMs captured the topographic signature of landslides. Results indicate that the improved topographic information provided by DEM2 was significant in identifying recent rainfall-induced landslides, and was less significant in improving the representation of stable slopes.

Abstract:
Wilms’ tumor (WT) is the most common type of childhood kidney cancer, and most cases present with favorable histology and respond well to standard treatment. However, a subset of patients with WT is diagnosed with bilateral, relapsed, and high-risk tumors which remain the leading cause of cancer-related death in children. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and their aberrant expression have currently been attracting great attention as oncogenes or tumor suppressors during tumor initiation and progression. So far, their roles and related competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network remain unelucidated in nephroblastoma pathogenesis. We comprehensively integrated lncRNA, microRNA (miRNA), and messenger RNA (mRNA) expression profiles from the Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatment (TARGET) database and screened out differentially expressed mRNAs (DEMs), lncRNAs (DELs), and miRNAs (DEMis) to construct a ceRNA network based on the information generated from miRcode, miRTarBase, TargetScan, and miRDB. Gene ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses were performed to analyze the functional characteristics of DEMs in the ceRNA network. The interaction between protein molecules was also analyzed by establishing a protein-protein interaction network. Finally, prognosis-related biomarkers were identified via survival analysis. Initially, 1647 DELs, 115 DEMis, and 3280 DEMs (|log FC| > 2; FDR < 0.01) were obtained using the R package. Next, we constructed a lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA network (ceRNA network), in which 176 DELs, 24 DEMis, and 141 DEMs were identified. Furthermore, 148 functional enrichment terms from GO were identified and 29 KEGG pathways were found to be significantly enriched. We also integrated patient clinical information to analyze the association between DERNAs and patient prognosis. We found that high expression of 8 DELs (LINC00473, AL445228.2, DENND5B−AS1, DLEU2, AC123595.1, AC135178.1, LINC00535, and LMO7−AS1) and 4 DEMs (CEP55, DEPDC1, PHF19, and TRIM36) correlated with poor survival in a patient with WT, whereas high expression of 2 DELs (MEG3 and RMST), 1 DEM (KIAA0922), and 1 DEMi (hsa−mir−200a) could possibly lead to better clinical outcomes. For the first time, the present study provided a novel insight into lncRNA-related ceRNA networks and identified potential prognostic biomarkers in Wilms’ tumor.

At the same time, the existing sci-entometric methods are criticized by scientists, since the incomplete bibliographic base and tools for its assessment do not allow the most accurate assessment of the contribution of scientific work. The problem of the quality of scientometric assessments, as a rule, is based on the study of the data of a certain citation system, which does not include complete information about all publications of the authors contained in other citation systems. Aim. This study is aimed at developing an adaptive ap-proach for the formation of aggregated data of bibliographic information of a scientific organiza-tion in conditions of incomplete information from the citation systems of the RSCI, “Google Aca-demy” and Scopus. Methods. The definition of the aggregated list of publications for the analysis of scientometric indicators was carried out by the Winnowing method, the Levenshtein algorithm, the shingle method and the Jaro–Winkler method. In the framework of the experimental study, the effectiveness of the application of the considered methods for aggregating information from cita-tion systems was assessed based on the analysis of accuracy, completeness and F-measure. Results. Expe¬riments on test data from the list of publications by authors of the Orenburg State University from the citation systems RSCI, Google Academy and Scopus showed that the Winnowing method formed the most accurate lists of publications by the F-measure criterion. To improve the perfor-mance of this algorithm, a two-stage optimization of the aggregation process was carried out, which made it possible to improve the running time of the algorithm when generating a list of bibliographic descriptions. Conclusion. The proposed approach for the formation of aggregated data of biblio-graphic information of a scientific organization in conditions of incomplete information from the ci-tation systems of the Russian Science Citation Index, Google Academy and Scopus allows increas-ing productivity in the formation of a list of authors' publications and shows good efficiency in de-termining the scientometric characteristics of authors.

In contrast to Osborne's focus on the ancestral deme, this brief study will concentrate on the deme into which the woman married; such a deme will be termed the deme of marriage or the marital deme. The study will focus particularly on the families who contracted more than one alliance for their kinswomen into the same outside deme and will emphasize the importance of siblings in securing and maintaining these alliances in the marital deme.

ABSTRACTBackground:Despite awareness of the negative health and financial outcomes of delirium, systems to routinely assess and manage the condition are absent in clinical practice. We report the development and pilot evaluation of a Delirium Early Monitoring System (DEMS), designed to be completed by non-medical staff to influence clinical processes within inpatient settings. Two versions of the DEMS are described based on a modified Confusion Assessment Method (DEMS-CAM) and Delirium Observation Screening Scale (DEMS-DOSS).Methods:Both versions of DEMS were piloted on a 20-bedded Psychogeriatric ward over 6 weeks. Training was administered to ward staff on the use of each version of the DEMS and data were collected via electronic medical records and completed assessment sheets. The primary outcome was patterns of DEMS use and the secondary outcome was the initiation of delirium management protocols. Data regarding the use of the DEMS DOSS and DEMS CAMS were analyzed using χ2 tests.Results:Completion rates for the DEMS CAM and DEMS DOSS were 79% and 68%, respectively. Non-medical staff were significantly more likely to use the DEMS-CAM as part of daily practice as opposed to the DEMS-DOSS (p<0.001). However, there was no difference between the use of the DEMS-CAM and DEMS-DOSS in triggering related actions such as documentation of assessment scores in patients’ medical records and implementation of delirium management protocols.Conclusions:This real world evaluation revealed that non-medical staff were able to incorporate delirium monitoring into their practice, on the majority of occasions, as part of their daily working routine. Further research is necessary to determine if the routine use of the DEMS can lead to improved understandings and practice of non-medical staff regarding delirium detection.

Kerusuhan biasanya dihadirkan oleh pihak yang kalah dalam Pilkada, Akibatnya mereka berani melakukan tindakan inkonstutisional demi mencapai tujuan. Seperti demo anarkis, pengrusakan fasilitas umum, pemblokiran jalan dan tindakan lain yang sangat merugikan kepentingan masyarakat. Pilkada berbiaya tinggi juga akan menghadirkan perilaku korupsi karena para pemenang pilkada akan berfikir bagaimana caranya agar modal besar yang telah mereka keluarkan dapat kembali dalam waktu singkat. Maka tidak heran apabila sebagain besar kepala daerah yang dipilih lewat Pilkada langsung berurusan dengan kasus korupsi. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui analisis hukum terkait pilkada langsung di indonesia. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini, yuridis normatif yaitu menelaah aturan-aturan, norma-norma dan peraturan perundang-undangan yang berlaku seperti hukum positif.

This research is a case study that aims to find out whether there is empirical evidence of Indonesia capital market reaction to one of the domestic political events, namely Demonstration 4 November 2016 by using Trading Activity Volume and Abnormal Return. The population in this research are stocks that are included in LQ45 Index in Indonesia Stock Exchange, and the data used in this research is secondary data consist of daily stock price, daily stock trading volume, and daily stock price index during the previous 30 days, one day on Time, and 30 days after the event. The statistical tool used to test the hypothesis is the t-test and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test. The result of calculation of variance analysis shows that there is a significant difference between Stock Trading Activity Volume at the time before, during and after demo 4 November 2016. Trading Stock Activity Volume increased but not significant from process before demo November 4th to process demo November 4th, but at the demo of November 4th to the condition after the demo of November 4th has increased significantly. ANOVA test results show that there is a significant difference between Abnormal Return Shares at the time before, during and after the demo of November 4th. That Abnormal Return Shares decreased significantly from the process before the demo November 4th to process demo 4 November 4th and Abnormal Return Shares When the demo of November 4th to the condition after the demo of November 4th also experienced a significant decrease.

Interestingly, technological developments of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) suggest that they have matured enough to be a competitive alternative to satellites or airplanes. However, this has not been tested so far. In this study we therefore evaluated whether DEMs generated from UAV imagery are suitable for urban drainage overland flow modelling. Specifically, 14 UAV flights were conducted to assess the influence of four different flight parameters on the quality of generated DEMs: (i) flight altitude, (ii) image overlapping, (iii) camera pitch, and (iv) weather conditions. In addition, we compared the best-quality UAV DEM to a conventional lidar-based DEM. To evaluate both the quality of the UAV DEMs and the comparison to lidar-based DEMs, we performed regression analysis on several qualitative and quantitative metrics, such as elevation accuracy, quality of object representation (e.g. buildings, walls and trees) in the DEM, which were specifically tailored to assess overland flow modelling performance, using the flight parameters as explanatory variables. Our results suggested that, first, as expected, flight altitude influenced the DEM quality most, where lower flights produce better DEMs; in a similar fashion, overcast weather conditions are preferable, but weather conditions and other factors influence DEM quality much less. This study investigates the vertical accuracy of a DEMs interpolated from 1:50,000 contours with universal kriging (UK) using DEMs interpolated from 1:10,000 contours as the independent source of higher accuracy following the geospatial accuracy standards proposed by the Federal Geographic Data Committee, FGDC, (1998). In accordance with the standards, the 1:10,000 contours do not qualify as well-defined points with known horizontal position and a high degree of accuracy that are easily visible and recoverable on the ground. Hence, DEMs are created from the 1:10,000 contours and used to check the vertical accuracy of the 1:50,000 DEMs with elevation errors, an RMSE and vertical accuracy measure calculated between the 1:10,000 and 1:50,000 DEMs. Other methods of vertical accuracy assessment for the 1:50,000 DEMs include a comparison of elevation ranges, visualization of error surfaces and latitudinal and longitudinal terrain profiles..

Visual principle is a guiding principle of educational activities in se-lecting the contents and the methods of teaching. Physics is an experimental science. Students can success-fully master the basics of Physics provided the source of knowledge is a physical experiment based on the visual didactical principle. To optimize the teaching process it is necessary to visualize phenomena, processes or objects. Visualization is significant for problem solving in research and teaching. Physics demonstrations inure to this aim very well. Demo tasks which exemplify the ideal gas laws are presented and analysed. An ideal gas is characterized by three state variables: absolute pressure (p), volume (V), and absolute tempera-ture (T). The relationships between them are showed by demo tasks. Demo tasks for isothermal, isobaric, isochoric and adiabatic process are discussed. The place of the demo tasks and the possibilities of applying them during physics teaching are analysed. Reasoning sequences for giving a logical sense to these physics demo tasks are introduced. These sequences have been based on the system of specially thinking schemes and prepared as a guide determining the steady movement toward a positive result. The demo task and its reasoning sequence enable the pupils to understand essence of new subject, to colligate, to make conclusions. Reasoning sequences, prepared for demo tasks are efficient in training pupils’ way of thinking. Key words: visual principle, ideal gas laws, physics demo tasks, reasoning sequence, logical sense.

High-resolution DEMs are important spatial data, and are used in a wide range of analyses and applications. However, the high cost to obtain high-resolution DEM data over a large area through sensors with higher precision poses a challenge for many geographic analysis applications. Inspired by the convolution neural network (CNN) excellent performance in super-resolution (SR) image analysis, this paper investigates the use of deep residual neural networks and low-resolution DEMs to generate high-resolution DEMs. An enhanced double-filter deep residual neural network (EDEM-SR) method is proposed, which uses filters with different receptive field sizes to fuse and extract features and reconstruct a more realistic high-resolution DEM. The results were compared with those generated with the bicubic, bilinear, and EDSR methods. The numerical accuracy and terrain feature preserving effects of the EDEM-SR method can generate reconstructed DEMs that better match the original DEMs, show lower MAE and RMSE, and improve the accuracy of the terrain parameters. MAE is reduced by about 30 to 50% compared with traditional interpolation methods. The results show how the EDEM-SR method can generate high-resolution DEMs using low-resolution DEMs.

Based on a number of semantic differences between the two, I argue that indet-demo is not a nominal free choice item, but a concealed unconditional adjunct, corroborating the claim made by Nakanishi and Hiraiwa (2019) and Hiraiwa and Nakanishi (2020, to appear). Based on Rawlins’s (2008, 2013) Hamblin analysis of unconditionals in English, I propose a compositional semantics of indet-demo that captures its semantics properties.

By a simple differential thermal analysis (DTA) system, the concentration dependence of the glass transition temperatures (Tgs) for the quaternary ammonium-type ionic liquid, N,N-diethyl-N-methyl-N-(2-methoxyethyl)ammonium bromide [DEME][Br] and H2O mixtures, after quick precooling was measured as a function of water concentration x (mol% H2O). We compared the results with the previous results of [DEME][I]-H2O and [DEME][BF4]-H2O mixtures in which a double-glass transition behavior was observed. Remarkably, the [DEME][Br]-H2O mixtures basically show one-Tg behavior and the Tg decreases monotonically with increasing H2O content up to around x=91.5. But it suddenly jumps to higher Tg value at a specific x=~92. At this very limited point, two Tgs (Tg1,Tg2) which we might consider as a transition state from the structure belonging to the Tg1 group to another one due to the Tg2 group were observed. These results clearly reflect the difference in the anionic effects among Br−, I−, and BF4-. The end of the glass-formation region of [DEME][Br]-H2O mixtures is around x=98.9 and moves to more water-rich region as compared to those of [DEME][BF4]-H2O (x=96.0) and [DEME][I]-H2O (x=95.0) mixtures.

Fine-resolution LiDAR DEMs can represent surface features such as road and railway embankments with high fidelity. However, transportation embankments are problematic for several environmental modelling applications, and particularly hydrological modelling. Currently, there are no automated techniques for the identification and removal of embankments from LiDAR DEMs. This paper presents a novel algorithm for identifying embankments in LiDAR DEMs. The algorithm utilizes repositioned transportation network cells as seed points in a region-growing operation. The embankment region grows based on derived morphometric parameters, including road surface width, embankment width, embankment height, and absolute slope. The technique was tested on eight LiDAR DEMs representing subsections of four watersheds in southwestern Ontario, Canada, ranging in size from 16 million cells to 134 million cells. The algorithm achieved a recall greater than or equal to 90% for seven of the eight DEMs, while achieving a Pearson’s phi correlation coefficient greater than 80% for five of the eight DEMs. Therefore, the method has moderate to high accuracy for identifying embankments. The processing times associated with applying the technique to the eight study site DEMs ranged from 1.4 s to 20.3 s, which demonstrates the practicality of using the embankment mapping tool in applications with data set sizes commonly encountered in practice.

Pada kondisi tertentu, seseorang tidak dapat diukur tinggi badan secara aktual sehingga diperlukan pengukuran alternatif lain. Demi span (setengah rentang lengan) merupakan salah satu tulang panjang yang paling mendekati untuk memperkirakan tinggi badan. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara demi span dengan tinggi badan pada dewasa muda. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan dan Fakultas Keperawatan Universitas Ngudi Waluyo. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini yaitu 303 responden diambil dengan metode disproportionate random sampling. Demi span diukur menggunakan metline dengan ketelitian 0,1 cm dan tinggi badan diukur menggunakan microtoise dengan ketelitian 0,1 cm. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji korelasi Spearman Rank (α=0,05). Hasil: Rerata panjang demi span laki-laki 79,1 ± 3,34 cm dan perempuan 72,2 ± 3 cm. Rerata tinggi badan laki-laki 166,1 ± 5,7 cm dan perempuan 154,2 ± 4,9 cm. In this paper, we present AMS-DEMO, an asynchronous master-slave implementation of DEMO, an evolutionary algorithm for multi-objective optimization. AMS-DEMO was designed for solving time-intensive problems efficiently on both homogeneous and heterogeneous parallel computer architectures. The algorithm is used as a test case for the asynchronous master-slave parallelization of multi-objective optimization that has not yet been thoroughly investigated. Selection lag is identified as the key property of the parallelization method, which explains how its behavior depends on the type of computer architecture and the number of processors. It is arrived at analytically and from the empirical results. AMS-DEMO is tested on a benchmark problem and a time-intensive industrial optimization problem, on homogeneous and heterogeneous parallel setups, providing performance results for the algorithm and an insight into the parallelization method. A comparison is also performed between AMS-DEMO and generational master-slave DEMO to demonstrate how the asynchronous parallelization method enhances the algorithm and what benefits it brings compared to the synchronous method.

Every salesperson I know has his or her favorite stories of incredible happenings when the “Proximity Effect” takes over. (For the unknowing, the Proximity Effect states that the more closely the customer approaches a demo instrument, the more likely it is to self-destruct.)My most memorable demo occurred when I was working with a French company selling semiconductor manufacturing equipment, I arrived with customers from the States and the first morning we were standing outside the demo lab passing the time until we were given the all clear from the instrument technician. As we conversed, an acrid odor permeated the lobby and the lights in the demo lab seemed to dim a bit. The odor became overpowering.

Oxygen consumption is an important indicator of the metabolic activity of living cells, which may provide valuable information for evaluating embryo quality. We have found that the bovine embryos with high oxygen consumption possess stronger potential for further development. However, the relationship between respiratory activity and the pregnancy rate of embryos is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the respiration rates of bisected bovine embryos and the pregnancy rates of demi-embryos after embryo transfer. Compact morula-stage embryos were bisected evenly by micro glass needle. One hundred bisected embryos were incubated for 24 h in embryo culture medium (IVD101; Research Institute for the Functional Peptides, Yamagata, Japan) at 39�C under 5% CO2, 5% O2, 90% N2. After the incubation, demi-embryos were classified into 2 groups: blastocoel-formed (BC) and blastocoel-not-formed (CM) embryos. Oxygen consumption rates of demi-embryos were measured by scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM; Hokuto Denko Corporation, Tokyo, Japan). Within 3 h after the measurement, 80 demi-embryos were transferred into recipient cows (one demi-embryo/one recipient) at 7–8 days after estrus. Recipient cows were diagnosed for pregnancy by ultrasonography approximately 40 days after estrus. Statistical difference was analyzed by Tukey's post-hoc test and chi-square test. A total of 27 recipient cows became pregnant; the pregnancy rates for cows with CM and BC demi-embryos were 40.6% (13/32) and 29.2% (14/48), respectively. Mean oxygen consumption rates (� 10-14 mol s-1) in pregnant and non-pregnant cows were 0.47 and 0.39 for CM demi-embryos and 0.63 and 0.52 for BC demi-embryos, respectively. Retrospective analysis showed that the respiratory activity of demi-embryos in the pregnant group was higher than those in the non-pregnant group. In particular, the pregnancy rates for demi-embryos with respiratory activity higher than 0.35 in CM and 0.40 in BC groups were 52.0% (13/25) and 35.9% (14/39), respectively. On the other hand, cows with demi-embryos having an oxygen consumption rate under 0.35 in CM (n = 7) and 0.40 in BC (n = 9) groups did not become pregnant. These results demonstrated that bovine demi-embryos with higher respiratory activity showed a high pregnancy rate after embryo transfer. It is generally known that the pregnancy rate after the transfer of bisected embryos is lower than that of whole embryos. The measurement of oxygen consumption by SECM procedures is a useful tool to assess the quality of pre-implantation embryos and may contribute to the improvement of the success rate for bisected embryo transfer.

In applying DEMO to the care process of the emergency department at the University Medical Centre Utrecht, it was investigated if DEMO fulfilled our expectations. This practical application showed that DEMO yields an adequate process view by a clear and comprehensible view of the core processes, responsibilities, co-ordination of activities, and a clear description of causal and conditional relations between activities.

The viability of microblade-bisected Day-7 embryos transferred to recipients without zona pellucidae directly after splitting or after overnight storage at 4°C was investigated in two experiments. In Experiment 1, 26 demi-embryos of excellent or good quality and two of fair quality were transferred to 28 heifer recipients 1-3 h after splitting. The transfers resulted in 20 pregnancies (71.4% pregnancy rate), and 19 calves were born (one pregnant heifer was slaughtered). Another 14 demi-embryos were cultured 1 to 3 h at room temperature, transported for 3 h at 8-10°C and stored for 12 h in a refigerator at 4°C, Twelve of the 14 demi-embryos were considered transferable after storage and nine of these were transferred to nine recipients, of which five became pregnant. Four live calves were born. In Experiment 2, 21 excellent or good quality demi-embryos were transferred into 21 heifer recipients to produce 12 pregnancies (57.1%) and 10 live calves. Another 19 demi-embryos (17 excellent to good quality and two fair quality) were transferred after storage for 1-2 h at 8°C and 18 h at 4°C. Five recipients became pregnant, of which four delivered live calves. It is concluded that a high pregnancy rate can be achieved after the transfer of fresh demi-embryos produced by a simple method of embryo bisection under farm conditions. Although the transfer of demi-embryos stored overnight at 4°C results in decreased pregnancy rates, refrigeration of demiembryos may be useful in certain practical situations. However, further experiments are needed to determine the optimal conditions for overnight storage of demi-embryos.

In recent years several inscriptions, including a deme decree (IGii21181) thought to have been found at Sounion, have been reassigned to Rhamnous. The community of Sounieis dedicated a kouros to Zeus even before it had been incorporated in the Athenian state as a deme. The sole remaining deme decree (IGii21180) suggests that the deme centre must have been about 4 km N of the cape, though there was another centre of population at the cape in classical times. Over time the deme sought to protect its resources, possibly against state mining activities but more certainly against inroads by shepherds or goatherds from other demes. Indeed, this was a surprisingly widespread activity, with some eight series of rupestral boundary inscriptions now known. In some cases, as at Sounion, there seems to have been cooperation between demes or reciprocal hostile responses to incursions by grazing animals. The attribution of this burst of protective activity to the 4th century BC is strengthened by the thorough survey of the region in which one deme (Atene) was situated; this shows that the area was uninhabited between the end of that century and the 4th century AD.
