Abstract:
One new species of the genus Dendronotus (Nudibranchia: Dendronotidae) is described from Norway and Northern Ireland, as well as from the adjacent North Sea, and one new subspecies of Dendronotus arcticus is described from Norway by applying a combination of fine-scale morphological and molecular phylogenetic data. The present case demonstrates multilevel morphological and molecular similarities and differences considering on the one hand a grouping of three similar looking sympatric taxa (D. yrjargul, D. arcticus gartensis n. subsp. and D. keatleyae n. sp.), and on the other hand two differen

Abstract A synoptic review of the family Dendronotidae is presented based on morphological and molecular data. Three genera are recognized: Dendronotus, Pseudobornella, and Cabangus gen. nov. Two new Dendronotus species are described, D. yrjargul sp. nov. and D. nordenskioeldi sp. nov., which reveal fine-scale differences. Dendronotus yrjargul sp. nov. from mid-Norway and the Arctic regions is a sister species to the North Pacific D. kalikal. These two species are showing clear morphological and ontogenetic differences but are close in genetic distance. In contrast, Dendronotus nordenskioeldi

The genus Pseudobornella Baba, 1932 (Gastropoda, Nudibranchia, Dendronotidae), which was previously thought to be monotypic and restricted to the Western Pacific, is here expanded with the description of a second species, Pseudobornella qingdaoensissp. nov., discovered in the Yellow Sea, China. The new species is similar in general body shape to its sole congener, P. orientalis Baba, 1932, but these species can be distinguished based on both external morphology and internal anatomy.
