Abstract:
Residential fires are a form of disaster that often occurs in urban areas especially in densely populated settlements. This study looks at possible mitigation scenarios for this kind of disaster. A case study was conducted in Babakan Ciparay Sub-District in Bandung City, among the densely populated settlements, and was focused especially on Sukahaji Village, a sub-unit of Babakan Ciparay, which is the most densely populated village in Bandung City with up to 234.14 people/ha. There have been six structural fires recorded from 2007 until 2010 occurring in Sukahaji. This study applied stratified

In the area of low-power wireless networks, one technology that many researchers are focusing on relates to positioning methods such as fingerprinting in densely populated urban areas. This work presents an experimental study aimed at quantifying mean location estimation error in populated areas. Using a dataset provided by the University of Antwerp, a neural network was implemented with the aim of providing end-device location. In this way, we were able to measure the mean localization error in areas of high urban density. The results obtained show a deviation of less than 150 m in locating t

During the COVID-19 pandemic, access to sanitation is an important part of preventing COVID-19. Poor sanitation in the household has the potential to cause the spread of disease at the household level. Densely populated settlements are areas with the highest COVID-19 prevalence. The purpose of this research was to describe access to sanitation in households in densely populated residential areas. This study was Qualitative with descriptive design. Information was collected through in-depth interviews with informants and observations of sanitation facilities at the household level. People in de

Urban production in the sense of producing and processing material goods in densely populated areas (Brandt et al. 2017) has been gaining in importance again in recent years. Reasons for this include more resource-efficient and lower-emission manufacturing processes, shorter transport and work routes, or proximity to research and educational institutions. While many studies on urban production refer to agglomeration areas, there is a lack of knowledge on less densely populated regions and also on small and medium-sized cities. This article will take a look at this focus and present the initial

Abstract Densely populated areas have a high level of waste contributors. Dealing with waste and environmental quality must be challenging for the Zillennial Generation (Gen-Z), who are familiar with fast and instant processes. This study aims to analyze the influence of social references on environmental awareness in Gen-Z in densely populated areas. The research was conducted in Jakarta and Bandung, Indonesia’s two most populous areas. The study involved 378 Gen-Z in Jakarta and 420 Gen-Z in Bandung. The method used in this research is a survey method using a questionnaire. The simple linear
