Abstract:
The authors cannot comprehensively determine all of the vulnerabilities to an attack only from requirements descriptions. To resolve the problem, the authors propose a method for eliciting security requirements using the information about system architecture. The authors convert a use-case description into a variation of a data flow diagram called an asset-flow diagram (AFD). The authors then refine the AFDs based on a processor deployment diagram (PDD), which gives information about a system architecture. By using vulnerabilities patterns to an attack, the authors distinguish vulnerabilities to the attack that can be identifiable in AFDs from remaining vulnerabilities to the attack. To prohibit the former vulnerabilities, security requirements are defined as countermeasures and/or modification of existing requirements. To prevent the latter vulnerabilities, security requirements are defined as design and implementation constraints. Through an evaluation of a web application, the authors show that our method enables us to elicit security requirements against several different attacks in different system architectures.

In anti-submarine war systems of system (ASW-SOS), each operational node has a variety of combat capabilities, which play different roles in anti-submarine actions, and these abilities have their own range. Therefore, after definition and description of ability of operational node, calculation of comprehensive ability index, and built of weighted voronoi diagram (WVD), the analysis approach of operational ability of ASW-SOS is formed. After generating various capabilities WVD, this paper analyzes impact of change brought by global dynamic deployment, and puts forward adaptive optimization solution. The simulation results show that, by using the technology of WVD, the ability of static distribution and dynamic change process can be demonstrated clearly and precisely, and this method has strong practicality

Abstract:
AbstractThis paper introduces a rigorous framework for function modeling of complex multidisciplinary systems based on the system state flow diagram (SSFD). The work addresses the need for a consistent methodology to support solution-neutral function-based system decomposition analysis, facilitating the design, modeling, and analysis of complex systems architectures. A rigorous basis for the SSFD is established by defining conventions for states and function definitions and a representation scheme, underpinned by a critical review of existing literature. A set of heuristics are introduced to support the function decomposition analysis and to facilitate the deployment of the methodology with strong practitioner guidelines. The SSFD heuristics extend the existing framework of Otto and Wood (2001) by introducing a conditional fork node heuristic, to facilitate analysis and aggregation of function models across multiple modes of operation of the system. The empirical validation of the SSFD function modeling framework is discussed in relation to its application to two case studies: a benchmark problem (glue gun) set for the engineering design community; and an industrial case study of an electric vehicle powertrain. Based on the evidence from the two case studies presented in the paper, a critical evaluation of the SSFD function modeling methodology is discussed based on the function benchmarking framework established by Summers et al. (2013), considering the representation, modeling, cognitive, and reasoning characteristics. The significance of this paper is that it establishes a rigorous reference framework for the SSFD function representation and a consistent methodology to guide the practitioner with its deployment, facilitating its impact to industrial practice.

Abstract:
Distributed underwater sensor network coverage is divided into two main categories: deterministic coverage and stochastic coverage. A strategy is put forward to deploy determinate area by using a triangular-grid method. When a coverage ratio is known, the distance between nodes can be adjusted to meet the coverage ratio in the monitored area, and the least number of sensor nodes can be calculated. Also a heuristic method is proposed for stochastic area deployment strategy. It is under the premise that the initial node location randomly deployed is given, using Voronoi diagram, the not easiest monitored path is searched, and the network coverage performance is improved by configuring the new nodes in the path. Finally it is proved that network performance is more improved by the simulation experiments, when one to four nodes are configured in the easiest breach path.

Abstract:
Abstract This paper introduces an Enhanced Sequence Diagram (ESD) as the basis for a structured framework for the functional analysis of complex multidisciplinary systems. The ESD extends the conventional sequence diagrams (SD) by introducing a rigorous functional flow-based modelling schemata to provide an enhanced basis for model-based functional requirements and architecture analysis in the early systems design stages. The proposed ESD heuristics include the representation of transactional and transformative functions required to deliver the use case sequence, and fork and join nodes to facilitate analysis of combining and bifurcating operations on flows. A case study of a personal mobility device is used to illustrate the deployment of the ESD methodology in relation to three common product development scenarios: (i) reverse engineering, (ii) the introduction of a specific technology to an existent system; and (iii) the introduction of a new feature as user-centric innovation for an existing system, at a logical design level, without reference to any solution. The case study analysis provides further insights into the effectiveness of the ESD to support function modelling and functional requirements capture, and architecture development. The significance of this paper is that it establishes a rigorous ESD-based functional analysis methodology to guide the practitioner with its deployment, facilitating its impact to both the engineering design and systems engineering communities, as well as the design practice in the industry.

Abstract:
A unified modelling language (UML) based formal verification methodology that can be easily integrated into an embedded system software development life cycle is suggested. The approach augments UML diagrams with formal models through an interfacing domain and adds semantics to these diagrams. The suggested methodology; commences from functional specification and use case modelling, selects the most critical behaviour where formal verification can add value to the development cycle, analyses the selected behaviour using UML state transition diagram, derives a state chart matrix from the same, and a high level language software translates the state chart matrix to a labelled transition system. Safety properties are derived from system specifications and are expressed as computation tree logic (CTL) formulae. CTL model-checking algorithm from the literature is used for model- checking. The applicability of the suggested approach is established using a safety critical embedded controller used for deployment and recovery of sensor structures from an airborne platform.

Abstract:
Service Oriented Architecture is popular in many organizations. In particular, it has already deeply rooted in large corporations that need to automate entire business processes and implement them in many systems. It has a unique feature that allows unambiguously indicate service that is to realise business process step. That indication is possible to show directly in BPMN diagram. Thus, it is possible to trace which server has used resources to implement the service and how much of those resources were needed. Therefore, it is possible to build an optimization task that, with limited and unreliable resources, will determine such allocation of components to servers and such an algorithm for assigning tasks to them, so that the processes will work as well as possible. The article presents a model of such an optimization task. This model consists of four layers. The Organization Layer describes the system environment – the types and frequency of initiating business process instances. The Integration Layer describes the business processes and indicates the services that should be performed at every step. The Component Layer describes component characteristics and what services they provide. In Server Layer both: server characteristics and runtime environments necessary for the component to run are described. Finally, the optimization task and evaluation criteria are formulated.

Abstract:
Model Driven Architecture (MDA) is a new software development framework. This paper presents a model-driven approach to the development of Web applications by combining Conallen's web applications design concept and Kleppe's MDA process. We use the UML extension mechanism, i.e. stereotypes, to define the various web elements, and use the Robustness diagram to represent MVC 2 structure for Web application. After required analysis, we start by using a use case diagram as CIM, and then transform CIM to PIM, and PIM to PSM. We propose mapping rules for model-to-model transformation. Finally, we develop a tool named WebPSM2Code, which can automatically transform PSM diagram to Web application code, such as Java, JSP, HTML, Servlet, Javascript, as well as deployment descriptor file. All the files can automatically address to the correct directory structure for JSP Web application, and the transformation rate is about 39% of the whole system. Using this methodology, systems can be analyzed, designed, and generated more easily and systematically. Thereby, the time that Web programmers spend on coding can be reduced.

Abstract:
The analysis of the temperature change of the contact surfaces of the cutting part of the reamer and the theoretical calculation under various processing conditions for the reaming process are carried out. A block diagram of the installation is presented, which allows recording the temperature change in the cutting zone on a computer in real time. It was found that with the effective use of nanocoatings (epilams), the friction coefficient decreases, thereby decreasing the temperature of the deployment process and increasing the tool life.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to review and gather the latest critical success factors (CSF) of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) deployment and implementation into a comprehensive list of factors. Design/methodology/approach – The approach taken by authors in this study was to analyze the latest literature review starting 2010 onwards and focus on CSFs of LSS (not dedicated as Lean or Six Sigma) by excluding other improvement methodologies or initiatives, e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, TRIZ etc. Findings – Five significant CSFs were identified (initially 97 CSFs listed from 13 papers) out of nine groups/headers listed in clustering analysis using Affinity Diagram tool and new headers mapping. Practical implications – Most of the organisations were aware of the success story on LSS, but did not scrutinize or consider its CSFs. By knowing the outcome of this paper, it can help open eyes regarding readiness before implementing LSS. Originality/value – At the end of this paper, the authors tried to cluster the CSFs similarities that could intentionally provide the guidelines and references to industries/companies for successful deployment and implementation of LSS in future endeavours.

Abstract:
Multi-Agent Based Intelligent Tutoring System Source Code Generation Using MASITS ToolSeveral agent development tools have been proposed. At the same time, specific tools for agent based Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) development do not exist. However, ITSs have some specific characteristics that must be taken into consideration during the development. General purpose Agent Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE) methodologies and therefore development tools do not sufficiently correspond to the characteristics of ITSs. Additionally, the general purpose AOSE methodologies and tools do not allow plugging in domain specific rules and diagrams. Thus, usage of knowledge gained in ITS research during the development process is limited. In the absence of general tools that allow plugging in knowledge from ITS research, a specific tool named MASITS has been developed. The tool supports a specific agent based ITS development methodology named MASITS which takes into consideration specific characteristics of ITSs and integrates knowledge from ITS research. The tool supports all phases of ITS development, starting from requirements analysis and ending with deployment. Requirements analysis and design phases are supported by appropriate diagram creation tools. Implementation is supported by source code generation from diagrams created during the design phase. JADE platform is used for agent implementation. Thus, Java classes for ontology, agents and behaviours are generated from the design diagrams. The paper includes a brief overview of diagrams used in the source code generation and detailed algorithms for source code generation from the diagrams.

Abstract:
Although more attention has been attracted to benefit evaluation of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) deployment, how ITS impact the traffic system and make great effects is little considered. As a subsystem of ITS, in this paper, Intelligent Transportation Management System (ITMS) is studied with its impact mechanism on the road traffic system. Firstly, the correlative factors between ITMS and the road traffic system are presented and 3 positive feedback chains are defined. Secondly, we introduce the theory of Fundamental Diagram (FD) and traffic system entropy to demonstrate the correlative relationship between ITMS and feedback chains. The analyzed results show that ITMS, as a negative feedback factor, has damping functions on the coupling relationship of all 3 positive feedback chains. It indicates that with its deployment in Beijing, ITMS has impacted the improvement of efficiency and safety for the road traffic system. Finally, related benefits brought by ITMS are presented corresponding to the correlative factors, and effect standards are identified for evaluating ITMS comprehensive benefits.

Determining the priority of customer needs is one of the right steps for business people to take to determine the direction of allocating their resources. In this study, affinity diagrams and tree charts are used to classify and translate the opinions of loyal customers about customer needs. The customer opinion (voice of the customer) obtained through semistructured interviews is then translated into a technical language (voice of quality) that has a relationship and correlation to existing theories. Data in the form of items of customer need, which are the result of affinity diagram analysis and tree diagrams, are then presented using a matrix that takes the left and right chamber of the House of Quality (HOQ) matrix from the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. Matrix that adopts the left and right chamber of HOQ matrix will display the items of customer needs and their priority level. The purpose of this study is to identify the item of customer needs and determine the priority level of customer needs for micro culinary fried rice enterprise in Indonesia. Deployment, operation and recovery of an underwater robot are time-consuming and expensive activities which involve a highly skilled team and a complex logistic. An accurate and comprehensive virtual environment is required in order to rapidly designing, developing, in-lab testing and evaluating the working of an underwater robot and to minimize the risks to lose expensive equipment during hazardous in field testing. We formulate the kinematics equations for a hexapod robot with Denavit-Hartenberg description and present the dynamics equations with free body diagram based on isolated body dynamical analysis so as to overcome the difficulties of modeling Lagrange dynamics. As for contact and hydrodynamics effects, we adopt some classic methods and empirical models to obtain realism. Abstract:
Purpose – Quality function deployment (QFD) is a worldwide-known, design for quality approach, which gathers several design quality methods. Among them, the House of Quality (HoQ) correlates the Voice of Customer and the Voice of Company thanks to L-shaped (2D) Matrix Diagrams (MDs). This paper theorizes, as logically possible, the extension from a bi-dimensional representation (a customer and a provider) to a higher N-dimensional representational freedom without altering the typical QFD’s customer-provider posture. The purpose of this paper is to present QFD 3D: the extension of the Relationship MD in the HoQ toward a third dimension (two customers and a provider or two providers and a customer). Design/methodology/approach – The proposed method is based on an existing well-known quality management tool such as MDs. The authors extend its representational capability by substituting the current L-shaped MDs (2D) with C-shaped ones (3D). The mathematical validity of this extension is described to demonstrate the correctness of the approach. Findings – The paper presents the logical validity and a case study concerning a three-dimensional extension of the Relationship MD in the HoQ, typical of the QFD approach. Research limitations/implications – The results are limited to a three-dimensional extension. Situations where more than three actors are simultaneously involved are theoretically possible, but they are out of the scope of the current research. The difficulty in manipulating 3D representations on traditional supporting tools will be completely reversed on new computer-supported tools. The proposed method is meant to be a useful and efficient instrument for correlating the needs and the services in multi-actors-based scenario, using a QFD design quality approach fueled by IT support tools. Practical implications – This paper can be used as guideline for further researches on N-dimensional extensions of HoQ. The proposed method can be used in a scenario based on the Triple Helix of Innovation. It gives a clear correlation between different needs and services, facilitating the decision-making process and the constitution of a more comprehensive view of the scenario under a quality management approach. Originality/value – Thousands of articles propose different QFD case studies all based on a bi-dimensional correlation between a customer and a provider. This paper proposes a method to extend the pertinence of QFD to scenarios where more than two actors are simultaneously correlated. Considering in particular three actors, the resulting three-dimensional Relationship MD in the HoQ is a totally new design quality tool for correlating customers’ needs and providers’ services. This can result in a significant gain of time and representational ability for quality managers who have to correlate multiple customers with a service provider and conversely a customer to multiple service providers. This approach open the doors for new QFD tools fueled by IT.

Abstract:
Multi-robot systems (MRSs) are currently being used to perform agricultural tasks. In this regard, the deployment of heterogeneous MRSs will be essential for achieving more efficient and innovative farming in the future. In this paper, we propose a multiplicatively weighted (MW) Voronoi-based task-allocation scheme for heterogeneous agricultural robots. The seed points for area partitioning using a Voronoi diagram are obtained by performing node clustering using a k-means clustering algorithm. Heterogeneous robots have different specifications for performing various tasks. Thus, the proposed MW Voronoi-based area partitioning for heterogeneous robots is applied by considering various weighting factors. The path for each robot is computed such that the robot follows the nodes, and the computed paths serve as inputs for the workload distribution strategy that assigns paths to the robots. Simulations and field experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Although the deployment and integration of isolated microgrids is gaining widespread support, regulation of microgrid frequency under high penetration levels of renewable sources is still being researched. Among the numerous studies on frequency stability, one key approach is based on integrating an additional loop with virtual inertia control, designed to mimic the behavior of traditional synchronous machines. In this survey, recent works related to virtual inertia control methods in islanded microgrids are reviewed. Based on a contextual analysis of recent papers from the last decade, we attempt to better understand why certain control methods are suitable for different scenarios, the currently open theoretical and numerical challenges, and which control strategies will predominate in the following years. Some of the reviewed methods are the coefficient diagram method, H-infinity-based methods, reinforcement-learning-based methods, practical-swarm-based methods, fuzzy-logic-based methods, and model-predictive controllers.

These analyze use two methods, namely the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) method and the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. In the analysis of the IPA, there are 3 attributes in the first quadrant of cartesius diagram, which is the top priority. Such product taste, product color and product price. While the value of the total suitability obtained is still below 100%, which is equal to 89,15%, which means that the importance of consumers have not been fulfilled by the performance of the company/product. Whereas QFD produces the priority of increasing product attributes starts from the product’s taste because it gets the highest repair ratio value, while the priority of increasing technical parameters starts from controlling the quality of ice cubes, coconut water and espresso because it gets the highest level of technical importance. Abstract:
Some factors can affect the consequences of oil pipeline accident and their effects should be analyzed to improve emergency preparation and emergency response. Although there are some qualitative analysis models of risk factors’ effects, the quantitative analysis model still should be researched. In this study, we introduce a Bayesian network (BN) model of risk factors’ effects analysis in an oil pipeline accident case that happened in China. The incident evolution diagram is built to identify the risk factors. And the BN model is built based on the deployment rule for factor nodes in BN and the expert knowledge by Dempster-Shafer evidence theory. Then the probabilities of incident consequences and risk factors’ effects can be calculated. The most likely consequences given by this model are consilient with the case. Meanwhile, the quantitative estimations of risk factors’ effects may provide a theoretical basis to take optimal risk treatment measures for oil pipeline management, which can be used in emergency preparation and emergency response.

Abstract:
Emergent behavior is an important issue in distributed systems' design. Detecting and removing emergent behavior during the design phase will lead to huge savings in deployment costs of such systems. An effective approach for the design of distributed systems is to describe system requirements using scenarios. A scenario, commonly known as a message sequence chart or a sequence diagram, is a temporal sequence of messages sent between system components. However, scenario-based specifications are prone to subtle deficiencies with respect to analysis and validation known as incompleteness and partial description. In this research, a method for detecting emergent behavior of scenario-based specification is proposed. The method is demonstrated and verified using a mine-sweeping robot as an example. Furthermore it has been demonstrated in this paper that scenario-based specifications can be used in agile software development and that the proposed methodologies in this research can be utilized effectively in agile approaches.
