Abstract:
Major policy initiatives related to formal education in India includes National Policy on Education 1986, which was modified in 1992 and New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. All of these policies stressed on importance of education in mother tongue and need for preparing teaching/learning materials in local languages. Various 5 year plans also recognized need for empowerment of socio economically underprivileged groups through educational development. 11th 5-year plan (2007 2012) included one prime goal that up to 2007 every child should attain school. While this period, ‘The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009’ laid down legal underpinnings for achieving universal elementary education. NEP 2020 also laid stress for education in native language, vocational education, compulsory school education and holistic multidisciplinary education. The global education development agenda reflected in the Goal 4 (SDG4) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by India in 2015 seeks to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by 2030.

After checking for reliability and validity of these tools, they were applied on the sample of the study. The results indicated that means of non-deprived adolescents were higher on consciences awakening, than deprived adolescents. Results also indicated significant statistical differences that are attributed to the effect of gender on consciences awakening and these differences were in favor of females, while there were no significant statistical differences that are attributed to type of deprivation, and the interaction between gender and type of deprivation. Results also indicated significant statistical differences among deprived of father male participants and deprived of mother female participants on consciences awakening, and these differences were in favor of deprived of mother females. in addition, there were also significant statistical differences on place of residence on consciences awakening in favor of those adolescents who reside with their families. There were no significant statistical differences for the interaction between gender and place of residence. Abstract:
The psychometric properties and exploratory factor analysis of the Children's Attributions and Perceptions Scale in two Spanish samples of children were examined ( n = 48 from an after-school social care center in a deprived neighborhood, and n = 120 from a school mainly enrolling families of medium socioeconomic status; 49% boys and 51% girls; M age = 10.5 yr., SD = 18.7). A cross-cultural comparative analysis of the Spanish samples and the normative sample was also carried out. Factor analysis supported a 4-factor solution for Spanish populations. Significant differences were found between the Spanish groups in school and the social care centers. The cross-cultural analysis showed that stressful conditions (sexual abuse vs deprivation) produced greater differences than cultural group (Spanish vs American).

Abstract:
This study focuses on development of disadvantaged communities via an Academic Service Learning project, incorporated in the PhD coursework of a private university. School teachers from an underprivileged community in a charitable village school of Baluchistan were given training by the students after doing interviews for needs analysis and developing and implementing a workshop based on their needs. As part of the workshop evaluation process, teachers’ perspectives were examined after teachers had incorporated the workshop strategies in their classrooms. Findings were highly positive, because teachers demonstrated enhancement in learning and constructive gain in scholarship which they could transfer to students and to other teachers in the community. Data from students who had carried out the project, accentuated improved learning and a keen desire for voluntary participation in service learning projects for helping underprivileged communities. This study not only contributes to the body of literature in academic and community service learning in the Pakistani educational context, but elaborates on the value of factors beyond economics for advancement of deprived segments of society.

Abstract:
It is necessary to recognize and address the differential impact of disasters on society. It is quite possible that a significant number of children to become victims of the COVID-19 caused social disaster. As a result, there would be an increase in the number of school dropouts and child labor, which indicates a substantial number of children will be deprived of their right to education. Any alternative response during school closure, like internet-based remote teaching learning, might not compensate the loss of learning as nearly half of the world is without access to the internet. "Emergency situations" are considered any situation either man-made or natural disasters suddenly disrupt the normal course of life, empathy and educational opportunities of children. The present study intended to find out the nature of social disaster caused by COVID-19 and how it impacted the learning loss and socio-emotional immunity of the under privileged school going children. A narrative review technique was used for this research study to explore the policy advocacies adopted in emergency basis in mitigating the impacts of the ongoing pandemic on such underprivileged children. The data were derived from published articles and reports available in national and international data repositories. The findings reveal that the closure of schools raise the vulnerability of underprivileged children as they are being deprived of their right to education and socio-emotional security. Present pandemic has led adverse situation, therefore disrupted delay or deny the right to education. It is time to rethink to adopt a new policy and mechanism to continue their education and to provide socio-emotional immunity in the time of emergency to address the gravity of crisis.

Abstract:
The First Step Towards a Combined Syllabus for all Children in Pakistan Prescription of a common syllabus for all children in Pakistan is the demand of social activists. The author feels that this is not a feasible proposal at this time as there is a huge gap between the life experiences in the two worlds that exist within Pakistan ---the world of the privileged and the world of the deprived. Children of the poor fail to develop certain essential pre-literacy skills (Zafarullah, 1996) and are therefore unable to compete with their more fortunate counterparts. These underprivileged children lack an orientation towards literacy

Abstract:
Gent is the second largest flemish city, which entails typical metropolitan issues such as the concentration of underprivileged and migrant workers. lts educational network of city schools therefore has a far greater proportional share of migrant students than other schools. The local public education network, by definition has the strongest ties with the local community. Having lifted obstacles of open or concealed discrimination, it still remains difficult to assess what determines school choice, for native pupils as well as for pupils of foreign origin. It is therefore necessary to part from the assumption that education of migrant children is necessarily of inferior quality. City schools start from the basic idea that high quality education is obtained by getting the best out of every child in accordance with his or her talents. Gent has chosen to work with heterogeneousgroups. Social and racial segregation does not prepare students adequately for "real life" in society. This concentration of pupils of underprivileged and deprived origin implies that one necessarily has to keep education as inexpensive as possible.

Abstract:
The essay discusses engaged documentary cinema in independent Slovenia. It focuses on the aspects of political engagement that address the deprived, underprivileged or oppressed communities and groups in contemporary Slovenian society. In the most unenviable position among them are members of the Roma community, the administratively erased inhabitants stripped of all their civil rights, exploited seasonal workers, representatives of the LGBTQIA+ community and the like. The discussion devotes its main attention to the operation of the informal collective Newsreel Front and its latest project “If the Forests Could Talk, They Would Dry Up with Sadness”, which documents the tragic situation of the refugees on the so-called “Balkan route” and their attempts at crossing the border between Croatia and Slovenia, fenced off with a razor wire.

Abstract:
From the WHO’s perspective, trained and motivated healthcare workers can promote community access to essential health services in deprived areas; this could also help achieve the millennium development goals. The concentration of healthcare workers in the capital has caused a lack of them in deprived areas and made delivering services difficult in almost all rural and underdeveloped areas. So, one of the main concerns of all health systems is planning to attract and keep physicians in underprivileged areas. The number of retained physicians has tripled.24/7 coverage of specialised medical services in the hospital has been provided.People’s access to health care has improved.Dispatching of patients to other cities’ hospitals for essential medical services has been minimised by providing it locally.Illegal payments have been eliminated. This practice study aims to present Iran’s Universal Health Coverage approach to addressing the lack of access to physicians in deprived areas through the ‘supporting physician retention in deprived areas’ programme and demonstrate its outcomes from 2014 to 2016. This national programme is designed to improve people’s access to high-quality health services and reduce out-of-pocket payments at hospitals in underdeveloped areas. The number of retained physicians has tripled.24/7 coverage of specialised medical services in the hospital has been provided.People’s access to health care has improved.Dispatching of patients to other cities’ hospitals for essential medical services has been minimised by providing it locally.Illegal payments have been eliminated. The programme began by ranking all the cities in the country based on socioeconomic indicators. Then, 302 regions in 30 provinces of Iran were selected and classified into four groups. Finally, each group’s incentive package was defined, consisting of a combination of fixed and performance-oriented payments. This programme has obtained the following achievements in the deprived areas:The number of retained physicians has tripled.24/7 coverage of specialised medical services in the hospital has been provided.People’s access to health care has improved.Dispatching of patients to other cities’ hospitals for essential medical services has been minimised by providing it locally.Illegal payments have been eliminated.

Abstract:
The pandemic has disrupted lives and is continuing to affect the right to education across the world; a shelter home housing underprivileged kids in the state of Gujarat is no exception. The crisis that hit the world unannounced, and led to hurried closing down of the educational institutions for indefinite periods. After a hiatus, a new mode of imparting education was sought to be adapted –the online mode. And the inequalities in access to education were striking. With online education becoming an only way to maintain continuity, the fragility of the public education system and institutions that were under funded became vivid. The pressure on the parents, educators, and administrators increased manifold. A tiny section of students at a shelter home in Ahmedabad—the Visamo Kids Foundation—endeavoring to access quality education in the finest English medium schools under RTE, were marginalized and deprived of their right to access to quality education.

Abstract:
Abstract I have written this book in the hope of rekindling dialogue on scientific issues related to population. My odyssey through the world of population sciences has led me to key recommendations that I present here in abbreviated form and in greater detail throughout the preceding chapters. The gap between rich and poor is widening. Economically privileged countries must increase their commitment and accelerate their efforts to achieve greater international equity in education, health, economic opportunity, and other conditions that influence people’s lives. We have a responsibility to elevate the conditions of life for the world’s underprivileged people and to preserve the earth for future generations, leaving it in at least as good shape as we found it. For impoverished, powerless people in economically deprived countries, preserving the earth may be the least of their everyday worries.
