A study on the conformable model of alcohol consumption in Spain has been presented. For the proposed model, the existence as well as the uniqueness of the solution has been discussed with the help of fixed-point theory. An analytical technique, Variational Iteration Method (VIM), has been used to obtain the solution to the governing system of differential equations. With the help of suitable plots, the role of fractional order derivative has been highlighted. For decreasing values of fractional order derivative, decrease in the number of non-consumers and non-risk consumers has been observed.

The asymmetric synthesis of cis-1,4-aminoalcohols with norbornene backbone was performed starting with simple and cheap anhydride 30. Quinine-mediated desymmetrization of anhydride 30 with methanol resulted in (2S,3R)-(-)-cis-hemiester 31 (98% e.e.). Chemoselective amination with HMPTA and NH4OH followed by LAH reduction afforded (2S,3R)-(+)-36 and (2S,3R)-(-)-37, respectively. A number of methods for the analysis of free amino acids in melon fruit have been evaluated experimentally. Analysis of their tBDMS derivatives by GC (gas chromatography) was found to be the most suitable for the mix of free amino acid found in the melon matrix. Electrochemical Frequency Modulation (EFM) was used as a method of monitoring corrosion rates of steel in acidic environments. Early stage pitting was evaluated via scanning electron microscope (SEM) for comparison of measured corrosion rates to observed pit formation.
