Abstract:
Tinea (dermatomycosis) is an infection of the skin or its appendages caused by microscopic filamentous fungi known as dermatophytes. Dermatophytes are able to invade and reproduce in keratinized tissues, i.e. in the skin, hair and nails. Tineas, more commonly caused by anthropophilic fungi, are characterized by persistent chronic course. Despite the fact that this pathology is one of the most frequent reasons for reference to dermatologists, there has been an increase in the incidence of dermatomycoses and changes in the nature of their course in recent years worldwide, including in presence o
