Barriga, Delgado Lesly Mercedes. "Aportes de la institucionalidad tradicional comunal a la nueva institucionalidad del agua en el Perú. Estudio de caso en la Comunidad Campesina de San Pedro de Casta (Provincia de Huarochirí, Lima)." Bachelor's thesis, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018. http://tesis.pucp.edu.pe/repositorio/handle/123456789/12892.
Full textThroughout more than four decades of existence, the andean community, a social organization legitimized by the State, has been adapting its organic structure, economy and culture to the demands of the time (Robles 2004: 25). Nowadays, different mechanisms are used to adapt to the demands of modernity and globalization (Robles 2004: 25). However, the communities still maintain social, institutional and other nature traditions and customs that coexist with the new national mandates. In this regard, the present research aimed to analyse the contribution of traditional communal institutionality to new water institutionality of Peru, taking as an example the case of the andean community San Pedro de Casta, located in the mountainous areas of Lima region. This, with the aim of knowing the key communal elements that should be implemented/considered in the new peruvian water institutionality for the achievement of water security and socio-economic development. The methodology of the present investigation was guided by the IWRM approach, making use of qualitative techniques in the collection of information, as also remote sensing analysis. Based on the results, it is concluded that the ancestral territorial vision for the execution of actions and the use of water resources and soil, as well as the communal organization founded on its statute, are important elements to be considered in the new institutional framework towards the achievement of water security. However, the current loss of part of ancestral knowledge is highlighted, which has led the community to a new process of (re)learning about the function and benefit of many of its elements and resources in disuse, encouraged by current legislation and external organizations.

Full textThe popular district of La Balanza has experienced physical changes throughout the years, as well as changes in the way of living of its inhabitants. An example of this is the value citizens give to public spaces, and the way they relate with each other and with their environment. The Fitekantropus Project has been working in this popular district for ten years, with an all-inclusive urban vision that aims to achieve the integral development of the whole popular district of La Balanza in Comas. This investigation demonstrates that, by means of an integral intervention which includes the transformation of physical spaces and social processes of the community, a dynamic of life within the neighbours of La Balanza is generated and the development of other valuable aspects is promoted. The thesis answers the question: How does the Fitekantropus Project contribute to the generation of social capital and local development in the popular district of La Balanza? The general objective is to analyze the project’s contribution to generate social capital and local development in the popular district in order to show good practices that will contribute to exert the right to the city and generate local development. From this research, the evidence of the Fitekantropus Project can be considered an example of success, not only because of the recuperation of public space for the benefit of a given population, but also because of the successful experience of strengthening social capital and generating local development. Moreover, this research intends to serve as a basis for the promotion of territorial development that will allow improve the quality of life of the communities.

Takaezu, Morales Julio Alejandro. "Pintura, diseños y turismo para mejorar la calidad de vida : una aproximación al proyecto «Colores para Antioquía» desde el enfoque del desarrollo territorial." Master's thesis, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018. http://tesis.pucp.edu.pe/repositorio/handle/123456789/13447.
Full text"Colors for Antioquía" was a project that was born with the aim of changing the face of the local people stuck in an economic activity that did not yield the fruits needed to get local families out of poverty. In this way, by painting the houses and the main public buildings, we sought to convert the town of Espiritu Santo into a tourist attraction that encourages the arrival of tourists and thus stimulates the precarious local economy. The main objective of this thesis is to analyze, using the main concepts of territorial development, the impact that tourism activity has had in Antioquía to improve the quality of life of the local population. Through the evidence gathered, whether from the interviews conducted and the notes taken during the field trips in 2017, three main findings have been found. Each of these findings explains different aspects related to the quality of life. They contain positive elements, but also difficulties that are worth observing and solving. Each of the three findings includes the variables that the interviewees mentioned during the interviews. Thus, in the first finding they recognized that their quality of life has suffered a positive increase since the project was implemented, since aspects such as education, family feeding, access to basic water and light services and the feeling of belonging to the place have improved. However, it was also observed that this growth has not been replicated throughout the town in a balanced manner. In the second finding it was possible to recognize that thanks to the arrival of the project the range of economic activities increased and that several families were able to carry out private enterprises in order to have a source of additional income to the agricultural activity. However, it has also been seen that there is a fear on the part of a sector of the population to diversify their economic activities. The immediate effect of this situation is that the supply of tourist attractions in Antioquía is scarce and limited. Finally, the third finding showed that as a result of the project a series of local actors joined to form an association that is in charge of grouping people who provide some type of service for the tourist who visits Antioquía. However, this association has been losing its presence over time and there are few members that form it. In this way, under the magnitude of territorial development, this thesis fulfills contributing to the field of Social Management some strategies with which it is sought that the project manages to overcome the difficulties that have arisen during the fourteen years that it already has the project implemented and that can be sustained over time in order to improve the quality of life of more people.

Full textThis thesis purpose is to give a place to a typology that is absent in the city. The Museum dedicated to Contemporary Arts is one of the typologies that has evolved more and that encompass a diversity of roles that not only involve the arts as such, but also the community. About the community, a museum can reinforce a cultural circuit, be part of an urban regeneration, consolidate a physical void in the urban space, dynamize the activities of the community, and sink in the sense of belonging of users. On the arts, this museum can face the questions that were unleashed by the modern art, a fact that raised a vast diversity of answers that demanded new spaces that could broadcast the artistic manifestations that question the limits of the arts. In summary, further than collecting, the Museum of Contemporary Art is a cultural institution, public, of social nature, with an offer on cultural society, and that actively participates on the cultural development of the city.

Full textSince the last decades, Peru has undergone a gradual process of deterioration and undeniable confidence and structural fragmentation of communities, the basic elements that at first sight explain social isolation, the difficult reproduction of social capital, and inadequate local development, on especially in vulnerable communities, but it ended up being more complex, as implied in parallel, the abstract construction of a "society Iceberg," the main base of the labyrinth of confidence (crisis of confidence) and interests of the global economy settlers imperialist on ineffective states. Therefore this thesis attempts to revalue the trust as an economic factor, social capital as public policy and inclusive national capitalism as viable alternatives for development and production growth through a modern and efficient State that guarantees not only a new institutionalism, but also a true local governance, national and global levels for the neediest. Full textThe project is an Kindergarten and Elementary School in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho that raises the current needs of students and new ways of learning that will go farther than the boundaries of classrooms, granting intermediate spaces as enhancers of multiple answers based in the ambiguity of its use. Likewise, the school is connected to the neighborhood by a mix of functions with the community where specific programs such as the library and the multipurpose rooms will be opened to them after school hours. The neighborhood-school-neighborhood concept generates a direct relationship between the community and the school where the students take full ownership of the spaces created for them, with a continuous learning. It has been proven that this concept generate a remarkable academic growth in students, in addition to reducing school drop-outs and the eradication of gang and insecurity phenomena.

Full textThe proposed project is a community center whose main users are young people and adolescents in the Villa El Salvador district. Statistics show that these users represent the majority of the population of the district and that many have educational and socioeconomic characteristics that lead them to be in a situation of vulnerability in terms of their academic and professional future. Also, the infrastructure that the district has to serve young people is not adequate since it is not designed for that purpose and does not have quality equipment. The project seeks, from these shortcomings, to provide young people with a comprehensive program that contributes to their development within an infrastructure that motivates them. To develop the project, 3 community centers for young people have been analyzed, the first of them in Peru, the second in Mexico and the third in the United States. It has been possible to rescue from them the need for flexible multipurpose spaces in which young people can carry out daily activities and integration. These spaces allow a visual connection of all the environments of the project, which is why the architectural concept of the project is spatial fluidity. There are two integrating spaces that mark the main circulations of the project, connecting everything visually and spatially. The building was born in response to the context, taking advantage of the corner location of the land and the proximity to green areas of the same, generating a new pedestrian connection accompanied by a large public square with various activities. The project seeks to be a substantial complement to the educational infrastructure that exists in the area, improving users' quality of life and allowing them to develop positive behaviors that contribute to their development. The community center becomes an active element of the district that strengthens social ties and provides opportunities for personal and collective growth.

For this, a semistructured interview was constructed, which allowed to identify the most important community elements among the participants (N = 8) based on the three axes studied, using open, axial and selective coding. It was verified that: (i) the group is characterized by its diversity, its dynamism and by not being ascribed to a physical territory; (ii) there is a high identification with their group due to the common culture they share, leading to a personal investment caused by their emotional connection; (iii) they have a hierarchical and participatory structure; (iv) they adhere public space within its dynamic; (V) they construct their self-concept based on the social beliefs around them.

Full textResources management is a key topic to sustainable development. Puna ecosystems in Peruvian Andes are susceptible to degradation due to overgrazing and climate change impacts. Hence, investigation and practices that contribute to sustainable resources management are needed. These issues affect the study area, the peasant community of Tanta, part of a Natural Protected Area in Yauyos. Tanta is home to a wild vicugna population, which can be viewed as a key resource for conservation, adaptation and sustainable development. Yet, local activities impact negatively on their ecosystems. The research’s main purpose was to determine spatial relations and impacts of local population’s activities on vicugna’s habitat and distribution. Participatory mapping was applied to determine local community’s activities which could influence vicugna’s habitat. Vicugna’s actual habitat was analysed via satellite imagery and GIS, while MaxEnt was used to model the potential habitat. Spatial relations between these elements were analysed to determine impacts. The research concludes with perspectives and strategies towards a sustainable vicugna’s management in the study area. The research proved to be valuable to local community and national conservation agents. Its relevance relies in providing knowledge and strategies that can be applied in future vicugna and grassland management. Main contributions are the integration of methods from human and physical geography, as well as sharing abilities in the comprehension and solution of environmental related problems.

Full textThe present work develops the Strategic Strategic Plan of Metropolitan Lima in 2028, for which the Strategic Sequential Model Model of Fernando D'Alessio has been used. Metropolitan Lima is the capital of Peru, and the strategic location makes it a fundamental pillar for its development. It is the city with the highest economic growth in the country and has high level production districts nationwide. In the city, a diverse and unequal socioeconomic structure is perceived, which shows that there are geographical areas with a higher economic income and a very different quality of life. Metropolitan Lima meets the economic and cultural conditions, development and growth perspective that together can be outlined as a magnet for doing business. To do this, a new vision is proposed to achieve and improve the welfare of the population of Metropolitan Lima. The vision is: “By the year 2028, Metropolitan Lima will be recognized as a competitive and modern city in Latin America, based on the growth of its main economic activities such as manufacturing, commerce and tourism; contributing in a sustained manner to the increase of the national GDP in more than half, positioning itself within the first five cities to do business in the region and generating equality in the distribution of the three dimensions of the Human Development Index”. The Long Term Objectives to achieve the vision is focused on achieving sustained economic growth based on its three main economic pillars: trade, manufacturing and tourism, a higher rate of human development based on health, education and wealth, a great interest to become one of the main cities to do business, as well as reduce crime rates and improve land use and urban transport. Through the application of this strategic plan, Metropolitan Lima will be consolidated as a reference model for the national and global economy.

Full textThe present investigation analyzes if the beneficiaries or users of the National Program of Direct Support to the Poorest: JUNTOS, from the community of Pomabamba, in Ancash, have modified some of their poverty conditions from their insert in the mentioned program. JUNTOS conditionally transfers money to women with children under the age of 14 and pregnant women, under the condition that they should consume health and education services provided by the State, considering that by improving their educational level and health conditions they can fight against the circle of poverty. The method used in this paper work was qualitative ethnographic, inductive and descriptive, it was considered a universe of 20 JUNTOS users. The techniques were, observation, semi-structured interview, focus groups workshop and bibliographic analysis. The guides and field notes were also valuable tools for gathering information. The sources of information were the 20 users, 2 workers of the health center, 4 teachers, and promoter of JUNTOS. The results showed that even though JUNTOS helps them with some of their expenses, it has not modified the ingrained conditions of the beneficiary's poverty, regarding the quality of life, the accomplishment of some productive work, the development of skills and abilities in them. The beneficiaries expect only the money and they don’t relate that JUNTOS’ persistence of them having health services or education, as important ways to change their social and economic situation. They consume these services because it is an obligation, not because is one of the ways to look for a better life. On the other hand, JUNTOS does not have a good management approaching the diversity of cultures in order to motivate beneficiaries to become involved and be proactive of their own development. Up to now, the promoters or agents of JUNTOS fulfill a demanding administrative job, they have to make reports and visits to areas that are far away. In this research we find that the other social programs of the State, even in the same Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, do not coordinate. To add, local 5 authorities do not intervene either. The beneficiaries do not know how to do any sustainable productive activity, they do not have funds, training, credit and buyers. All this, for them, is a great risk that demands time, they are overwhelmed with their children animals, and the farm. The beneficiaries continue to live in precarious conditions, only one of them has an improved latrine and kitchen. Some of the children in the community of Pomabamba have not improved their malnutrition and anemia. The perception of getting out of poverty is very far away, they do not show hope of overcoming it. Therefore, this thesis proposes changes in their social management and improvements in the intervention process of JUNTOS, so they can obtain better results.

Full textPeru has a great diversity of ecosystems, landscapes and natural resources. It also has cultural richness in each of its regions, which is why it can be considered that the country has an important tourist potential. Ecotourism emerges as an alternative to local development, taking advantage, in a sustainable way, of natural and cultural resources. The province of Pomabamba, located northeast of the department of Ancash, has four districts (Pomabamba, Parobamba, Quinuabamba and Huayllán) that are known and visited mainly for their cultural festivities; However, its areas or areas with potential for the development of nature tourism, have not been disseminated and are not managed or used sustainably by local authorities or the population. In the present investigation the potentiality of the district of Pomabamba, capital of the province, for the development of ecotourism, highlighting its resources and natural landscapes is analyzed and evidenced; It also highlights the willingness of the local population to participate in the implementation of this activity since it could emerge as a new development alternative for the locality.

Full text--- The variations of the oceanographic and atmospheric parameters related to El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) have an impact on the marine and terrestrial communities, changing their distribution and abundance. The relationship between the local and remote abiotic parameters, and the responses of the soft-bottom macrobenthic community of Ancon Bay to these parameters during EN, was analysed. The local and remote abiotic time series and also the biological time series of the macrobenthos of Ancon Bay belong to the period March, 1990 to September, 2000, which includes two El Niño. The strong influence of both, local and remote abiotic parameters, on the macrobenthic community of Ancon Bay was demonstrated. The increase of the biomass of both, the community and the species, was slower than that of the density. It was also concluded that the responses of the species to EN would be related to their r- and K-strategist characteristics. The opportunists (r-strategist), such the polychaetes Paraprionospio pinnata, Owenia collaris, the ophiuroid Ophiactis kröyeri and the phoronid Phoronis sp., are earlier or simultaneous to the onset of EN events; on the other hand, the competitors (K-strategist), such the nemertine undet. 1, the bivalve Pitar catharius, the polychaete Leitoscoloplos chilensis and the decapod Pinnixa valdiviensis are delayed to EN events.

Full textThis research emerges from the interest of knowing what economic activities, in addition to agriculture, can contribute to the territorial development of a rural community with very low levels in the quality of life. The district of Surco, is part of the province of Huarochirí, department of Lima, located between km 60 and 66 of the central highway, it is 2 hours away from Lima; has a charming landscape, which makes it a very interesting point for capital citizens searching to get away from the city noise. In recent years, it has been seen that the influx of visitors to the district is increasing. However, this shows how poorly prepared the district and its people are, to accommodate so much demand. It is for this reason that it is necessary to carry out a study of the touristic potential of the district. Therefore, according to the results, be able to identify strategies that support the development of the territory of this rural community based on the use of its touristic potential. The methodology to study touristic potential in this research is the one put forward in the Guide for the Evaluation of LEADER II Touristic Potential, which consists in the following: study of supply, demand, competence and market trends. The methods for the study of supply are; 1) open surveys, to know the perception of the inhabitants and the demand towards tourism; 2) observation, to recognize and analyze the supply and the MINCETUR (Ministry of External Commerce and Tourism) touristic inventory manual to identify the natural touristic attractions; 3) Diagnostic sheet of the Community Rural Tourism Program (TRC), to evaluate the competitors in the area of study; 4) SWOT Analysis, to determine the current trends, in the current and potential market of Surco. The results of the diagnosis are as follows: 1) demand tends to increase, thanks to the distribution of natural resources and the growing interest in nature tourism 2) the supply is very incipient, therefore, the touristic plant is precarious and disatisfies the demand; in addition, the tourist infrastructure is highly vulnerable in the rainy season, which isolates the district from the territorial dynamics that occur in its immediate surroundings, 3) in the competition aspect, are evaluated two other nearby districts under indicators of service, infrastructure, etc., defining Surco after the evaluation as a competent district, 4) the trends and current situation of tourism in Surco are summarized in the SWOT analysis, according to the study of the three factors (supply, demand and competition), it shows that the trend is positive and promising, towards tourism. Finally, this analysis reveals the strategies to be taken into account for the development of the activity.

Full textCommunity Psychology has followed a particular theoretical process in order to define and measure optimally the sense of community. In Perú, there is information on this concept; nevertheless, the analysis of the psychometric characteristics of tests in this specific context has evolved. Therefore, in this study as well as knowing accurately the implications of the sense of community in people who identify themselves as members of the Neocatechumenal Way; the psychometric particularities of the "Sense of community index two (SCI-II) scale", translated into Spanish, have been analyzed. The sample was constituted by 125 participants who were self-identified as members of the Neocatechumenal Way’s religious community (Catholic movement). The selected survey was analyzed psychometrically and its validity and reliability was reported in the context of Lima, Perú. After the psychometric analysis of the questionnaire, four factors were found for assessing the sense of community. The first one, Integration and fulfillment needs; the second Membership, the third Influence, and finally, Shared emotional connection. One of the central achievements of the present investigation is to present an adapted scale and describe the concept of sense of community observed in a particular type of community whose characteristics are different from the communities previously studied in our context. Further research in different national contexts and the proposed scale can be applied.

Full textCurrently, Lima (like the rest of the country) is in the context of the health emergency caused by COVID-19, which requires accelerating proposals for sustainable mobility by the government, since according to available scientific information, public transport are sources of contagion. This has meant a greater impulse to promote public policies that promote the use of bicycles as an alternative to non-motorized transport among citizens. However, according to the communication diagnosis carried out, there is a perception of insecurity of citizens with the need to travel about using the bicycle as a safe means of transport, due to the absence of inclusive cycle infrastructure, lack of easy technical information reach and the violent urban road ecosystem respect to non-motorized vehicles. In view of this, this Research Work aims to promote in the Magdalena del Mar’s neighbors the use of bicycles as a safe transport alternative, providing technical information that facilitates decision-making, promoting respect for the rights of the cyclist and accompanying them with digital consultation supports in their change process, taking into account the differentiated safety implications of its use for women and men. Thus, "BICIble" is a Communication for Development Research Project whose fields of action are the virtual platforms of Facebook and Instagram, with the Magdalena del Mar district as the niche of execution. With the collaboration of the citizen collective "Magdalena Creativa", "BICIble" managed to position itself as a concerned and properly trained young project for the promotion of the use of bicycles as an attractive alternative for sustainable transport and the management of a multilevel digital community that brings together civil society, business and government. In addition, to opening virtual spaces for dialogue and learning within the district with notable sustainability. Finally, due to its virtual nature, although its initial focus is district, the vision of the Research Work is the expansion at the metropolitan level of the proposal due to the scope and access provided by social networks, which would allow connecting with various actors in different locations.

Full textIn Peru, non-profit organizations dedicated to the development of communities are not perceived as entities that solve urgent issues for the country. A consequence of this is the low amount of people who have pledged to donate monthly through them. The main objective of this investigation is to find methods to attract more potential donors via the Associate Program of Techo Peru, an international non-profit organization dedicated to the development of low-income communities. The organization's Associate Program does not count with an optimal number of registered donors to this date. This investigation determines the reasons behind the low reach of the program amongst the AB economic class in Lima, Peru. The investigation uses interviews and surveys which identify a number of insights that lead to the creation of effective strategies to increase the number of associates. After determining that the positioning of the organization is misguided, the investigation determines that by telling stories of real cases that showcase the stages of each donation and how they become tangible in actual communities, generating actual solutions to problems in actual communities in the country, the organization can attract more donors.
