An abundance of information regarding the structure of a finite group can be obtained by studying its irreducible characters. Of particular interest are monomial characters – those induced from a linear character of some subgroup – since Brauer has shown that any irreducible character of a group can be written as an integral linear combination of monomial characters. Our primary focus is the class of M-groups, those groups all of whose irreducible characters are monomial. A classical theorem of Taketa asserts that an M-group is necessarily solvable, and Dade proved that every solvable group ca

The reason is that both negative and positive legal integration permit the use of contract law as a tool of private market regulation for the sake of societal wealth maximisation. Given the peculiarities of the linguistic situation of the era of Peter I, the authors argue that the potential multiplicity of the image of the character Slava is due to the semantics of the name of this allegorical figure. The paired describing of Slava is probably the result of the ongoing Western European influence, offering new examples of the embodiment of this character, as well as the consequence of the development of this figure in Russian art as a satellite character.

Abstract:
The most straightforward way to assess the thermoacoustic stability of a combustion system is based on modal approaches. The modes are typically computed from linearized equations in the frequency domain, such as the Helmholtz equation. Due to the linear character, nonlinear saturation effects cannot be computed with such models. Flame describing functions have been suggested to fill this gap. They describe the flame response in an amplitude-dependent manner and have been successfully used in recent work for the prediction of limit-cycle amplitudes in single-burner systems and annular combusto

Purpose. The goal of the present article is to study various means of creating a literary character. Analyzing the creative work of a famous English writer William Somerset Maugham and basing on the story «The Kite» an attempt is made to scrutinize Maugham’s peculiar style and lexico-stylistic devices he employs to create the main female characters of the story «The Kite». The main methods used in the research are: the method of contextual analysis and the descriptive-analytical method. Results. The results of the research revealed that the peculiar characteristic of the protagonists of the st

Film studies have recently begun to employ Jung’s concept of archetypes prototypical characters which play the role of blueprint in constructing clear-cut characters. New typologies of archetype characters appear to reflect the changes in the constantly developing world of literature, theater, film, comics and other forms of entertainment. Among those, there is the classification of forty-five master characters by V. Schmidt , which is the basis for defining the character’s archetype in the present article. The aim of the research is to identify the elements of the psycholinguistic image of Ju

This exercise uses a fictional group of turtles to demonstrate how to implement cladistic methodology. Using a step-by-step guide, students work to find the most parsimonious cladogram for these fictional turtles. Part I involves delineating characters and building a most parsimonious cladogram based on the distribution of character states, while Part II presents additional challenges by introducing homoplasy. This exercise is designed to familiarize students with the concepts of phylogeny and cladistics, expand their skills of phylogenetic analysis, and use phylogenetic information to determi

Original objectives: The overall goal of our work was to gain information regarding the genetic and molecular control of pathways leading to the production of secondary metabolites determining major fruit quality traits in pepper and to develop tools based on this information to assist in crop improvement. The specific objectives were to: (1) Generate a molecular map of pepper based on simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. (2) Map QTL for capsaicinoid (pungency) content (3) Determine possible association between capsaicinoid and carotenoid content and structural genes for capsaicinoid and caro
