As historically acknowledged in the Reasoning about Actions and Change community, intuitiveness of a logical domain description cannot be fully automated. Moreover, like any other logical theory, action theories may also evolve, and thus knowledge engineers need revision methods to help in accommodating new incoming information about the behavior of actions in an adequate manner. The present work is about changing action domain descriptions in multimodal logic. In the world of traditional strategy, descriptions (information) have replaced action (knowledge), and talk has replaced walk. Abstract:
We show that a continuous action of a quantum semigroup [Formula: see text] on a finite quantum space (finite dimensional C*-algebra) preserving a faithful state comes from a continuous action of the quantum Bohr compactification [Formula: see text] of [Formula: see text]. Using the classification of continuous compact quantum group actions on M2, we give a complete description of all continuous quantum semigroup actions on this quantum space preserving a faithful state.

Abstract:
This article describes REBA, a knowledge representation and reasoning architecture for robots that is based on tightly-coupled transition diagrams of the domain at two different levels of granularity. An action language is extended to support non-boolean fluents and non-deterministic causal laws, and used to describe the domain's transition diagrams, with the fine-resolution transition diagram being defined as a refinement of the coarse-resolution transition diagram. The coarse-resolution system description, and a history that includes prioritized defaults, are translated into an Answer Set Pr

In this paper, I explore the difference between expression of intention and expression of emotion through a discussion of a passage from G.E.M. Anscombe’s Intention, where she claims that expression of intention, unlike expression of emotion, is “purely conventional”. I argue that this claim is grounded on the fact that, although emotions can be described, expressions of emotion are not descriptions at all (e.g. of some present feeling or experience). Similarly, expressions of intention are not descriptions of a present state of mind but are rather the expression of a special sort of foreknowl

The study area, where the soil samples came from, was in the "Padurea Cenad" Protected Area, Timis County, Romania. The considered agrochemical indices resulted from soil analysis for agricultural land and forest land. The agrochemical indices were represented by soil reaction (pH), the content of some macroelements (Nt, P, K, Ca, Mg), microelements (Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn), and heavy metals (Cr, Ni, Pb). The soil reaction was considered with each group of elements in the analysis. According to the PC

In recent years, people’s health is facing many challenges as their workload is increasing and their lives are becoming more and more stressful. In this context, healthy living has become a topic of concern and more and more people are choosing to promote their bodies through fitness. To address these existing problems in action recognition research, this paper designs and implements a machine learning-based intelligent fitness system to monitor three important parameters in physical activity: the type of action, the number of actions, and the period of action.
