Abstract:
The problem faced by researchers and scholars, especially students, is finding the right reasons for choosing legal research methods. For this reason, this article was created to make it easier for scholars to choose the right legal research method. This article is described in descriptive form using secondary data or data obtained indirectly. This article re-explains the types of doctrinal/normative and non-doctrinal/empirical legal research methods. The characteristics of legal research are included in other social science research, however, what distinguishes it is the way of thinking. Legal research must rely on gap analysis or interest analysis between legal events (das Sein) and the rule of law (das Sollen). This article also emphasizes the reasons for choosing a research method based on the 'characteristics of the research objectives'.

Abstract:
The output of any research work depends, to a reasonable extent, on the adequacy of the sample from which data are obtained for the research. A sample is adequate when it is representative of the population or when it possesses the characteristics that are typical of the population from which it is drawn. The focus of this paper is on how researchers can select samples that are really representatives. Descriptive method was utilized in the writing of the paper. Attempts are made, in the paper, to describe the concepts of sample representativeness, sampling methods and sampling error. Some suggestions are then made on measures to take in carving out truly representative samples.

Abstract:
Articles published in International journals have rich potentials of learning sources since their publication has been scholarly processed through the hands of journal editors. Readers can get a lot of benefits from them. One lesson we might get is the way the writers conducted their researches. Thus, we can learn the research methods from the models found in journal articles. This paper will elaborate the research methods used in the teaching of English as a foreign language (TEFL). The elaboration is formulated from the research methods used by journal article writers around the world. A number of international journal articles in TEFL are taken as the corpus of the study. Using a grounded theory, varieties of research methods in TEFL are investigated. Among of them are case study, quasi experiment, qualitative experiment, meta analysis, descriptive research, activity theory, error analysis, R & D, action research, research and development (R&D), and survey method. Due to the limited space, however, the paper will only describe four popular methods: descriptive research, case study, error analysis, and R & D. The description of each method is supported with examples found in international journal articles published around the world.

Abstract:
Variable selection methods are widely used in observational studies. While many penalty-based statistical methods introduced in recent decades have primarily focused on prediction, classical statistical methods remain the standard approach in applied research and education. In this study, we evaluated the variable selection performance of several widely used classical and modern methods for descriptive modeling, using both simulated and real data. A novel aspect of our research is the incorporation of a statistical approach inspired by the supersaturated design-based factor screening method in an observational setting. The methods were evaluated based on Type I and Type II error rates, the average number of predictors selected, variable inclusion frequency, absolute bias, and root mean square error. The detailed results of these evaluations are presented, and the methods’ performance is discussed across various simulation scenarios and in application to real data.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to describe the development of market based accounting research (MBAR) published in Indonesia for 10 years. This study attempts to explain the topics of MBAR, research method used, the variables, between-variable relationship formed, and the units analysis used in MBAR. This research uses qualitative-descriptive method to create descriptive models of MBAR articles published in accounting journals that have been accredited with minimum grade of B. The analysis of 109 MBAR articles of five accounting journals shows that 10 MBAR themes are still potential. Among three methods in MBAR, the multivariate association study is dominant. Some papers use intervening and moderating model to explore the relationship between accounting data and capital market reaction. The results for each theme are described in a research map that shows the relationship between variables (constructs) of MBAR from three units of analysis. This paper finds some implications to MBAR research agenda in the future, especially for meta-analysis research and triangulation research, due to many inconsistencies of the MBAR findings in Indonesia. In addition, accounting standard research topic is still promising in the moment of accounting standards transition.

Abstract:
This study aims to improve students' ability to write an essay in the descriptive text genre. Descriptive text is a genre that serves to explain something to the reader through writing. To make it easier for researchers to conduct research, researchers use the CAR (Classroom Action Research) method to make it easier for researchers to be closer to the sample. The sample in this study were students of SMPN 5 Percut Sei Tuan with a total of 30 students. Researchers have conducted research with five meetings in four stages, namely planning, and observing. action, and reflection. Quantitative and Qualitative data are tools used in collecting data. Quantitatively, the value of the students' descriptive text is as data, which has been carried out in two cycles. Started the pre-test with a total score of 1953,3 with an average of 64.5. In the first cycle, the total score was 2204.05 with an average of 73.4. The researcher again conducted a post-test in the second cycle to achieve the requirements for teaching success, namely 85%. In cycle 2 the total score was 2621.6 with an average of 87.3. This proves that there is a significant change in student scores using the example non-example method. Qualitative data taken from observation sheets, interviews, and writer's diaries show that it is easier for students to understand teaching and can attract students' attention with an image applicator that guides students to write an essay.

Abstract:
Background and objective: Descriptive phenomenology when used within the tradition of Husserl offers the qualitative researcher a unique perspective into the lived experience of the phenomena in question. Methods of data analysis are often seen as the theoretical framework for which these studies are then focused. However, what is not realised is that the data analysis tool is merely that a tool for which to delineate the individual narratives. What is often missing is a research framework for which to structure the actual study. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to offer a reflective account of how the empirical-phenomenological framework shaped and informed a descriptive phenomenological study looking at the lived experience of male nursing students as they journey though the under-graduate nursing programme. Methods: A reflective narrative was used to examine and explore how the empirical-phenomenological framework can be used to support method construction within a descriptive phenomenological study. Results and conclusions: The empirical-phenomenological research framework aims to provide a practical method for understanding and valuing the range and depth of descriptive phenomenology, in particular the lived experience. Used in combination with specific phenomenological data analysis models the empirical-phenomenological framework is structured to support the qualitative research process.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to explore the reasons why descriptive phenomenology (DP) can provide an improved understanding of hospitality, tourism and event experiences. This is achieved through two objectives: first, by revealing the complexities and philosophical depths of DP; second, by providing a practical, stepped method that offers rigour and transparency. Design/methodology/approach This paper is based upon a study that explored the lived experience of the popular music festival-goer. It generally discusses the phenomenological philosophies of Husserl (1965 [1911]) and the descriptive phenomenological method in psychology of Giorgi (2009). It identifies not only some of the challenges and criticisms of DP but also the strengths of using a scientific approach to phenomenological research. Findings The philosophical strengths underlying DP afford a deeper understanding of the phenomenon being studied. The lived experience music festival study illustrates that the method of data collection and analysis highlights the intricacy of the philosophical debate and research findings. Although the bracketing, or epoché, method of DP has been criticised, the actual application is far more complex than trying to blank out prior knowledge. The aim is to ensure that it is the participants’ experiences that are used to identify the structure that is the phenomenon rather than the personal interpretation of the researcher. Originality/value It is recognised that researching the lifeworld affords a greater depth of understanding of experiences in people’s lives. One of the disappointments has been that one branch of phenomenological research, DP, has been underutilised and at times misunderstood in hospitality, tourism and event research. This paper aims to demonstrate and illustrate why and how DP should be considered in the future research of such experiences.

All phenomenological research, including descriptive phenomenological methods, are theory based. The knowledge in a discipline is built using discipline-specific methods. The purpose of this article is to develop and describe the processes of a mode of inquiry specific to caring in nursing theories housed within the unitary caring paradigm. Morgan’s practical framework examining ontological-epistemological-methodological linkages was used to develop the unitary-caring hermeneutic phenomenological research method The method is specific to conducting hermeneutic phenomenological research within Watson’s unitary caring science and Smith’s theory of unitary caring. The method includes a process of linking and interpreting themes generated from the textual analysis of participant descriptions of the caring phenomena to concepts in the specific unitary caring theory that informs the researcher’s a priori theoretical perspective to develop a theoretical understanding of the experience and contribute to the development of unitary caring nursing science.

Legal research has methods like research in general. The process of legal research is adjusted to the legal events that occur. Legal research can be seen from various aspects. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the types, approaches, research data, data collection techniques, and data analysis methods in legal research. This research uses a conceptual approach which is still within the scope of the normative approach because it only examines the opinions that develop in the research method. The results of this study indicate that the type of legal research is divided into field research using primary data and library research using secondary data. Approaches in legal research are divided into normative, empirical, and philosophical approaches. Data in legal research is grouped into primary data which is obtained directly, and secondary data which is referred to as legal material. Data collection techniques depend on the type of research and data; Primary data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, participation, and experimentation. Secondary data was obtained through offline and online searches. Methods of data analysis can be done qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative data analysis used content analysis, narrative analysis, discourse analysis, and interactive analysis methods. Quantitative data analysis using descriptive analysis method and inferential analysis method.

Abstract:
Systematic integration of quantitative and qualitative research is a known challenge when conducting mixed methods research (MMR) and joint displays are one method to make the integration process more concrete. A systematic review of the published literature on joint displays and MMR rationales was conducted in order to juxtapose joint display typologies with corresponding MMR rationales. Data from the mixed methods research systemic methodological review (MMR-SMR) were summarized using descriptive statistics, and a codebook was used to look for patterns and to develop themes that were integrated with descriptive codes. There were 71 joint displays across 27 studies that met the inclusion criteria. The MMR-SMR provides a comprehensive, updated examination of joint displays in the methodological literature and includes several contributions to the field of mixed methods research. One finding suggests that joint displays have evolved beyond their original typologies and an updated typology is provided. The current MMR-SMR identified a novel data transformation joint display that presented the conversion of qualitative data into quantitative data in a tabular format. It is unique that combinations of joint displays are being used (e.g., a side-by-side joint display that incorporates a theoretical lens or a path diagram) and that multiple joint displays are being used in individual studies. Researchers are recommended to strongly consider using joint displays as a method of integration because it can provide a structure to think about integration and to report the results of integration, which can further enhance transparency of the mixed methods research integration process.

Comparative law incentivize imagination to create new solutions to social problems intrinsically linked to different parts of the world. It consists in the analysis of multiple legal solutions revealed by research. Meanwhile, the understanding of the documentation put forward is influenced by the social, cultural, linguistic, political, and economic context where it evolved in the first place. Consequently, the interpretation of those elements leads to varying results. In response to this reality, we offer a modest comparative methodology rooted in creativity inspired by the concept of “bricolage” for the purpose of legislative innovations. In light of some descriptive examples pertaining to the imposition of mandatory mediation, we examine the gaps related to the use of comparative law while recognizing its fruitful potential.

Abstract In the maneuvering target tracking research due to the unpredictability of the target’s maneuvering, it makes it difficult to establish an accurate target motion model to reflect the real motion trajectory of the target. Based on the determination of the parametric maneuver model and the radar measurement conditions of the target, the joint estimation method of the motion state and the maneuver parameters is designed to obtain the optimal estimation of the motion state and the maneuver parameters based on the optimal evaluation criteria. Currently, in the descriptive category of the state space model, the state augmentation method is obtained to solve the joint estimation of the motion state and maneuver parameters based on the estimation criterion [1]. Therefore, the angular velocity estimation method of the state augmentation method is used to consider the estimated value of the target angular velocity and the estimated variance comprehensively to improve the convergence speed of target tracking, minimize the error between the filtered angular velocity and the real angular velocity of the maneuvering target, and finally achieve the purpose of improving the target tracking accuracy.
