Introduction. Generalization of biological, social, and psychological predictors of self-destructive behavior is one of the main tasks for world health care at the present time. For this reason, the development of an integrative model of self-destructive behavior, taking into account the diversity of biopsychosocial factors, as well as their representation in the virtual environment, will be highly relevant. The integrative model can be used to create automated systems for analyzing socio-cultural risk factors of self-destructive behavior, as well as helping specialists to create prevention, m

This paper highlights the importance of strength correction factors for a correct assessment of concrete compressive strength as a destructive test is performed. Full-scale reinforced concrete columns were prepared and the experiment consists of the extraction of cores (core diameter of 64 mm, 79 mm, and 103 mm) to carry out destructive test. The results show that the assessment of the compressive strength of concrete depends strongly on the aspect ratio and the diameter. Furthermore, the comparison between the core compressive strengths of samples with an aspect ratio of one and two could be

Abstract Residual stresses are self-equilibrating stresses that exist in materials and structures at the absence of instantaneous application of external loadings. In industrial manufacturing and fabrication processes, such stresses can be prominent and may lead to premature failures if uncontrolled. Such failures can be manifested in many forms including stress corrosion cracking, fatigue cracking or brittle facture. This paper is devoted to providing a comprehensive review on residual stress in the manufacturing and fabrication domain with a greater emphasis on welding based residual stresse

Abstract:
Abstract Structural integrity assessment of pipelines requires the knowledge of a combination of parameters, one of the most critical of which is materials' tensile properties. API standard testing methods for tensile properties involve the (destructive) testing of bulky specimens. In pipelines where records may be unavailable and the extraction of samples is not feasible, this type of approach is not viable, and alternative technologies are required. To overcome these difficulties, advanced indentation technology (AIT) has recently been developed, and commercial instruments are now available.

Abstract Pipeline and piping have been widely used for decades in the transportation of enormous kinds of fluids in diverse industries (e.g. oil and gas, chemical and power industries). During the construction phase of these pipelines, different sizes of pipes (ranging from 2" to 48" or more), elbows and piping are welded to meet the required design criteria and mechanical properties. With these in mind, a lot of factors must meticulously be considered to ensure that the finished weld is suitable for use in all ramifications. Probably the most prevalent form of corrosion in slurries is that from dissolved oxygen (air), along with the possible effects from the solution of soluble materials in the solids. Abstract For optimal refractory service life, various factors must be assessed when refractories are used in incinerator applications. This paper explores high temperature chemical reactions between highly alkaline waste and assorted refractory composites. Alkali attack from destructive elements such as sodium and potash (salts) can often be the primary mode of lining wear. The results of laboratory evaluations are discussed. Insight is given as to recent discoveries on the changing mode of alkali attack in incinerators with highly alkaline waste.
