This report presents work on the detection and tracking of people in digital images. The employed detection technique is based on image processing and classification techniques. The work uses an object detection process to detect object candidate locations and a classification method using a Self-Organising Map neural network to identify the pedestrian head positions in an image. The proposed tracking technique with the support of a novel prediction method is based on the association of Cellular Automata (CA) and a Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN). Difficulties include varying scale of the object, rotation and object appearance changing over time, thus leading to tracking failures. Also, small inaccuracies in the tracking method can accumulate over time, which can lead to tracking drift. Abstract:
The phased array multi-function radar is an effective solution to the requirement for simultaneous surveillance and multiple target tracking. However, since it is performing the jobs usually undertaken by several dedicated radars its radar time and energy resources are limited. For this reason, and also due to the large cost of active phased array antennas, it is important for the strategies adopted in the control of the radar to be efficient. This thesis investigates and develops efficient strategies for multi-function radar control and tracking. Particularly the research has focused on the u

The functions of current surveillance systems simply record images, they cannot autonomous determine and referee the pedestrians. For these purposes, we use the manual monitoring. Focusing on the screen monitoring causes the fatigue of people and reduces the overall efficiency. This study proposes the methods of detection and tracking for pedestrians. When a pedestrian passes through the range of photography of the surveillance system, the system will automatically perform the detection and path t

It is an important task to protect pedestrians from impact, so we have to detect pedestrians fast and automatically. We propose a method which combines the pedestrian model and the walking rhythm of pedestrians. By using these spatial and temporal information, the detecting result will be accurate. And the technique of dynamical graph matching is used to track pedestrians. It is possible to inform the driver of the situation of the crossing by cooperating

Thus the development of vehicle collision avoidance system becomes more and more important. In urban areas, there are lots of pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles, thus the detection of the pedestrian-like bikes is the most important task. In this study, we proposed a pedestrian detection and tracking system using monocular camera to help drivers avoiding pedestrian traffic collision. In the proposed system, we first
