Marketers are faced with the daunting challenge of identifying insights anddelivering the right combination of online and offline tactics to engageconsumers at various stages along the consumer journey. In this paper, weinvestigate the effects of retargeting in a multichannel environment. Using athree-stage modeling approach, we find retargeting is an effective advertisingactivity to influence purchase incidence, but only when combined with otherspecific marketing activities. While catalogs and emails have positivesynergies with retargeting, website visits and retargeting have a negativesynerg

The purpose of sleep is to help children grow and develop, which is why many parents try to lull their children to sleep. The present paper investigates what types of feelings, desires, blessings and expectations from a childare contained in lullabies sung by different nations, as well as what perspectives on sleep and lulling a child to sleep there are. The corpus consists of 120 lullabies published in Milutin Đuričković‟s book “Zvezdice sna: uspavanke naroda sveta” (2021). We propose a cloaking mechanism to deter spoofing, a form of manipulation in financial markets. The mechanism works by symmetrically concealing a specified number of price levels from the inside of the order book. To study the effectiveness of cloaking, we simulate markets populated with background traders and an exploiter, who strategically spoofs to profit. The traders follow two representative bidding strategies: the non-spoofable zero intelligence and the manipulable heuristic belief learning. Through empirical game-theoretic analysis across parametrically different environments, we evalua

This document provides an overview of the technical components of the Antecedent Precipitation Tool (APT) and a user’s guide for the APT. The APT is an automation tool that the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) developed to facilitate the comparison of antecedent or recent precipitation conditions for a given location to the range of normal precipitation conditions that occurred during the preceding 30 yr*. In addition to providing a standardized methodology to evaluate normal precipitation conditions (precipitation normalcy), the APT queries additional datasets to assess the presence of drou

Abstract:
The links between climate change and conflict have been well-documented in recent observations and academic literature: far from being causally direct, these links often depend on specific conditions and occur through certain pathways (Koubi, 2019). For example, conflicts have been found to be more likely in areas with poor access to infrastructure and facilities (Detges, 2016), or where government distrust and political bias are prevalent (Detges, 2017). As such, climate change has often been described as a ‘threat multiplier’, making it imperative for security and development actors to consi
