As a result of the conducted researches in the territory of Kalinkovichi it was found 186 species of phytopathogenic fungi and fungus-like organisms, belonging to 4 divisions – Oomycota, Ascomycota, Basidiomycota and Deuteromycota. The detected micromycetes were parasitizing on 165 species of feeding plants from 45 families. The division of Ascomycota in the town of Kalinkovichi is represented by 70 species of 19 genera, the division of Basidiomycota – 32 species from 9 ge nera, the division of Deuteromycota – 47 species from 18 genera and the division of Oomycota – 37 species from 7 genera.

A practical approach to combining mitosporic and meiosporic fungi in one classification is described. The taxonomic data base used with the computer retrieval system Entrez for searching both GenBank and MEDLINE has been revised to conservatively place mitosporic fungi in the appropriate meiosporic taxon, thereby making the Deuteromycota redundant. As more data are available, it will be possible to move mitosporic taxa adjacent to their closest meiosporic relatives at the genus level. Placing mitosporic individuals in meiosporic species, however, is unlikely to be practical in most cases. Key

The bacteria in the colonies are lysed and the contents apparently absorbed as a nutrient source by the fungi. Abstract:
Fungal spores can cause a range of health problems in humans such as respiratory diseases and mycotoxicoses. Since children are the most vulnerable, the presence of fungal spores in the facilities of preschool and school institutions should be investigated readily. In order to estimate air contamination by fungal spores, air sampling was conducted in eight facilities of the preschool institution in Novi Sad during February and March, 2007. Sedimentation plate method was used for the detection of viable fungal spores, mostly being members of subdv. Deuteromycota (Fungi imperfecti). In 32 sample

Yerba mate, Ilex paraguariensis A. St. Hil. (Aquifoliaceae), waste is one of the most common byproducts generated in households in southern Brazil due to the traditional consumption of mate. However, the decomposition of this waste by fungi has not been thoroughly evaluated. In order to study the fungal succession in mate residue, 450 samples were evaluated during the autumn, winter, and spring, and kept for two months in a humid chamber (aerobic medium) for the growth of associated filamentous fungi. We morphologically identified the fungi by means of a microscopy device and taking into consi

The increased pest actions of the red cashew beetle Crimissa cruralis (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae in Brazilian populations of cashew Anacardium occidentale (Anarcardiaceae) is a cause for concern. The entomopathogenic fungus, Beauveria bassiana, was evaluated as a biocontrol of larvae. The percent mortalities of second and third instar larvae produced by in vivo application of a commercial formulation containing the fungal spores were evaluated. Treatment of larvae at concentrations of 1.2 x 106, 2.5 x 106, 3.7 x 107 e 5.0 x 107 conidia/mL resulted in 49, 56, 66 and 72 % mortality within eight

Abstract In this study, the effectiveness of Beauveria bassiana (Balsamo) Vuillemin (Deuteromycota: Hyphomycetes) isolates on Tetranychus urticae Koch, 1836 (Acari: Tetranychidae) was determined with Petri and pot experiments in laboratory and climate room conditions by applying spore suspension and culture filtrate in Isparta University of Applied Sciences of in 2022. In the Petri experiment, the spore suspensions (1x106, 1x107, and 1x108 spore/ml) and culture filtrates (1X, 5X, 10X) of BIM-001 and BY2 isolates of B. bassiana were sprayed in the form of mist for 10 seconds at a speed of 3 m/s

AbstractThe entomopathogenic fungal genus Lecanicillium Gams and Zare includes species that are highly pathogenic to many genera of insects. Three species, Lecanicillium longisporum (Petch) Zare and W. Gams, L. muscarium (Petch) Zare and W. Gams, and L. pissodis Kope and Leal, were found to be entomopathogens of adult white pine weevils, Pissodes strobi (Peck), in coastal British Columbia. Morphological characteristics were used to identify these species, but variation in conidial shape and size made it difficult to classify some of the isolates into the correct species of Lecanicillium.
