Research suggests that infants progress from discrimination to recognition of emotions in faces during the first half year of life. It is whether the perception of emotions from bodies develops in a similar manner. In the current study, when presented with happy and angry body videos and voices, 5-month-olds looked longer at the matching video when they were presented upright but not when they were inverted. In contrast, 3.5-month-olds failed to match even with upright videos. Thus, 5-month-olds but not 3.5-month-olds exhibited evidence of recognition of emotions from bodies by demonstrating i

Abstract:
<p> This theoretical study addresses the question of how spirituality affects a child's development of a sense of self and considers the role of the natural world in this process. The author uses a traditional hermeneutic method in combination with alchemical hermeneutics (Romanyshyn, 2007) in order to make room for the unconscious during the research process. The study is therefore both an examination of the interrelationships between self, spirituality, and the natural world, as well as a depiction of the author's use of self and the unconscious to penetrate the deeper dimensions of these in

Abstract:
This paper presents a Master of Science thesis project, performed at SAAB Aeronautics propulsion division in 2014. A method was developed to implement performance calculations on nozzles and aircraft aft-body’s. Creating mesh for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) calculations is time consuming, so efficient methods and tools are necessary to decrease time spent on meshing. Tools used to speed up the meshing and calculation process have been developed and are described in this paper. A method was developed to be used for nozzle and aft-body geometries. Efficient tools are needed because the no

Abstract:
Strong and low-density fibres have been favoured materials for ballistic protection, but the choice of fibres is limited for making body armour that is both protective and lightweight. In addition to developments of improved fibres, alternative approaches are required for creating more protective and lighter body armour. This research focuses on a study of the inter-yarn friction and hybrid fabric panels for ballistic protection. Two complemetary routes have been employed to carry out the research, namely a programme of experimentation centred on ballistic shooting test and a detailed theoreti
