Erkman, Suren. "L'écologie industrielle : une stratégie pour l'éco-restructuration du système industriel." Troyes, 2004. http://www.theses.fr/2004TROY0004.
Full textThe new domain of industrial ecology considers the industrial system as an analogue of a biological ecosystem. Industrial ecology offers a global and integrated perspective on environmental issues, much broader that waste treatment. The basic methodology of industrial ecology is called industrial metabolism. It consists in measuring and studying the totality of resource flows (materials and energys) used by the industrial societies. Industrial ecology is also an operational approach to sustainable development, which applies to industrialised and developing countries as well. It proposes a strategy for an in-depth eco-restructuration of the industrial system as a whole along four complementary axes : 1) close resources flows (quasi-cyclic economy) ; 2) minimise dissipative losses ; 3) dematerialise economic activities ; 4) decarbonise the energy system. The thesis offers a general theoretical synthesis of the emerging field of industrial ecology, as well as a number of case studies in different sectors of the economy

Samie, Masood. "La Stratégie du développement industriel en Iran (entre 1926 et 1978)." Lille 1, 1986. http://www.theses.fr/1986LIL12008.
Full textThe principal aime of this thesis consists on an analyse of iranian strategie of industrial development beetween 1926-1978. During about over than fifty years, the iranian authorities have undertaken development strategies, inspired from the modeles elaborated by international experts. In fact, since the 20th century, the economic development is no more the privileged field of industrialised countries because the development experiences, tried in several developping countries have enriched the existing modeles. It was the case of iran, a country really underdevelopped at the beginning of this century, but who, within fifty years has had a complete transformation; a transformation that started very slowly and then accelerated during the 60's and 70's. The first part of this essay concerns the presentation and the crities of the development models that inspired the development strategies chosen by the iranan experts for over than five decennies. Two events changed the face of Iran at the beginning of the 20th century : the oil discovery and the beginning of reza-chah's reign. The 2nd part of this essay is about the study of iranian economic evolution in general and l'extension of industrie in particular up to 1962. The 3rd part starts with the analysis of the economic recession appeared in 1960 which with the sharp increase of oil entries, have been the two main factors of a deep change of iranian development strategie since 1963. The main element of this was an ambition industrial policy in which the iranian gouvernement prospected to make of Iran an export country industrial goods since the 80's. But this sudden transformation of economic policy in which the iranian authorities have seen a fast economic development, has created the collapse of Iran in a serious economic crisis since 1976

Its implementation implies adequate political strategies. It is based on certain conditions, it requires the mobilisation of important national and international means. These are necessary to make industrial development overstop the phase of wishes to reach the stage of real implementation

Belaali, Mohamed. "La Banque mondiale et le financement du développement industriel au Maroc." Poitiers, 1987. http://www.theses.fr/1987POIT3001.
Full textIt is essentially by means of loan agreements with its underdeveloped member countries that world bank can achieve its policy of aid to development. The statement and performance proceedings of those loan agreements are not only formal. They are the very expressions of the world bank inderdevelopment development conceptions. Applying those conceptions to the industrial sector of a single member country, morocco in this case, implies a precise strategy : privatization of the institutions of industrial intervention, support and protection of the private local and foreign industrial capital, important extroversion of industry and thus of the moroccan economy. A concrete investigation reveals that the industrial strategy advocated by world bank in morocco comes up against limits which are not only economical and financial (world bank refusal to finance a heavy industry, promotion of light export industries, industrialization by way of indebting. . . ),but also political and social, (problem of ingerence, state sovereignty, restricting effects of the enforcement of the structural adjustement plan on impoverished classes). So, beyond juridical and financial modes of loan agreements- wich cons- titute the very basis of world bank intervention this survey tries to analyze the relations of domination and dependence existing between world bank and its underdeveloped member countries. In fact, those relations are nothing but the reflection of the relationships existing between industrialized countries and underdeveloped countries

Full textThe lack of a true strategy specific to Thailand in terms of economical and industrial development is proven by the poor interaction between technology transfer, an insufficiently skilful work force and by an unattractive local capacity, which hardly generates innovation. These are major issues to be solved in order to catch up with newly industrialised economies in a global perspective of increased competition and erosion of Thailand's comparative advantages. With these conditions, an increased and more coordinated intervention from the government is necessary, justifies and determining, even though it should remain limited due to the lack of an optimal allocation of market mechanisms. Therefore the State must go along with and back up the global Research and Development effort, using subventions and loans, improving its capacity to receive and to transform technology transfer, helping a better interaction between public and private sectors through the creation of structures such as "transfer centres" for capital risk and through the development of trade unions, and bearing in mind the qualitative of the existing potential in terms of human ressources. Our essay will be based upon the theory of endogen growth

Full textThrough an analysis of iraq's socioeconomic and political history, the study has been describing the place of state in the process of general development. The modality of state intervention and the effects of the latter represent the main theme which is expanded over the essential period stretching from 1958 to nowadays. The extensiveness of the mutation experienced by the state apparatus from 1968 set off the adoption of a socioeconomic long term strategy of development. It was part of a context which had a socialist orientation and which alloted the vanguard position to the public industrial sector. The state assumed several roles: its role of promoter and protector state, its role of reformer state, and its role of programmer state. The state also encouraged the private initiative, for a complementarity between the private sector and the public one, to enable the integration of the economy to the war. Finally the mechanism of a "peripheral" economy can only escape from its frailty through the engagement of state in a gradual step, aiming at stimulating the internal dynamism, through a coordination between the latter and the space of development

Full textFacing the gravity of the challenges and the complexity of the problems linked to the industrial activity, the role of which is essential for the future of emerging countries like Tunisia, we are focusing more closely on the industrial phenomenon in the city of Sfax. A geographical analysis of the city's industry made it possible to answer several questions dealing with the location of the industrials plants and the factors explaining their distribution. Our approach, combining theoretical reflections, observations and analyses, has a spatial dimension since industry can be located and therefore mapped and interpreted. Observation is an essential stage, but it is not sufficient to give an account on the complexity of the structures and dynamics. It is with this aim in view that our explanatory analysis retained three different aspects. Firstly, the distribution of the industrial areas is apprehended using spatial analysis methods. Secondly, the analysis of the current development processes is underlined. Thirdly, the study of the problems involved in this organisation al mode which is threatening the population and becomes a growing challenge to the city, is deepened. Our analysis reveals on the one hand the existence of traditional industrial organisation types, shown by the center-periphery model and on the other hand, a development mode called Local Productive System (LPS). In its spatial configuration this system is in some cases contradictory: after succeeding in offering scale economies, it is nowadays at the origin of urban diseconomies that local authorities cannot face. The concentration of industry on the coast and the existence of companies being noxious to the environment are two variables of negative influence on the LPS and can be thus considered as dangerous and constraining factors to the future strategies of development

Full textIn west african countries external demand constitute an important factor for economic growth. That holds their place in international economic relations, that is, those for supplier of raw materials, of non processed goods. That is why the level of economic activity of industrialized countries has has a positive effect in the development of west african economies. But, in the end of the 70's, this effect will tend to diminish its speed. There are many explicit factors, that is, changes in the production methods, in the ways of consumption and certainly the reorientation of french economy in view to participate in the european economic community. Consequently, it was important to adopt an alternative strategy for the development of west african countries. It is in this way that the solution of economic integration is proposed. In fact, it could resolve the problems of limited market by exploitation of economies of scale, permit to establish an industrial policy in the sub-regional scale. To realise that, effectively steps need to be taken in political, economic, cultural and social fields. A dream which will realise with time

Full textThesis topic is of great interest : What is the future of former mining settlements, small and medium, from Romania and Europe? What role can have the industrial mining heritage - in this context ? The motivations of the study are multiple: the weak knowledge of the scale and effects of the abandonment of mining areas, the poor knowledge of Romanian industrial- mining heritage, etc.For analyzing the evolution of the Romanian mining industry, it is required its inclusion in the European context, using as references Great Britain and France. The methodology is different depending on the country. The thesis is structured in three parts and conclusions. The first part contains a research of the historical evolution of the mining industry. In the second part, the study is restrained at the three countries: Great Britain, Franceand Romania. Based on English, Scottish and especially French case studies are highlighted working methods and strategies which promote the mining heritage, in the context of territorial development.ln the third part, the study is restrained at Romania. A fïrst step is the inventory of mining settlements from three counties to establish the type portrait of Romanian mining settlement. AIso this part contains the research and the intervention methodology for the Romanian case and the proposing of strategies for the regions of Ghelari, Brad and Jiu Valley. The conclusions of the thesis are diverse from the implications of the mining industry at European level, types of interventions on the mining heritage, economic and social methods, Romanian mining settlements characteristics and similarities in Europe, strategies and recommendations

Full textThe object of this study, based on economic, industrial and regional geography, is to analyse :. The economic, social and geographical implications of the conversion of the industrial basin of le creusot- montceau -les-mines, and. The mainspring of this transformation in its transition from an "old industrial basin" to a modern one subject to the repeat shocks of interlocked sectoral crises. The subjacent object is the dysfunction, due to the loss of its bearings, of an industrial basin, its historical formation and the orientation of its evolution in the context of crises and general conversions. However, far lore than merely analysing the ruptures between a territory and its principal industries, this study explains the new relationship established from the second half of the 1970's between industrial redeployment, economic and social development and geographical organisation. The intention of this work is to contribute to the general effort of reflection undertaken since the past few years on the problems raised by the industrial crisis, conversion policies and the new data on regional and local development. Its approach is based on two points :. A two-sided examination of the conditions and modalities of the passage from the state of conversion to that of development based on a specific socio-economic locality in crisis (the le creusot-montceau-les-mines industrial bain) and an institutional mechanism (pole of conversion). . The analysis and understanding of the factors contribution to the definition and implementation of new development donditions which facilitate the passage, successively, from the state of crisis and conversion to that of global "development"

Full textThe cote d'ivoire, which has often been presented as a successfully developing country owing to a long period of economic growth, has been confronted with an enduring recession since the beginning of the 1980s. This crisis questions the accumulation model based on the force born from the cultivation of coffee and cacao. Indeed, because of the prolonged decline of price markets, the agricultural surplus has gradually come to be insufficient to finance the investments necessary for development. Consequently, industrialization appears as the sole way to free the cote d'ivoire from a policy based on agricultural exports and to enable its economic growth to get back on the road to recovery and above all, to avoid an increasingly marked distance between the country's economic system and that of the world. Nonetheless, the success of such a strategy demands that the state, uhich is still a foreign body within society, should make a decision to implement and coordinate the different policies necessary for true industrialization

Full textIn most developing countries, industrialization has been considered as the driving force of growth and economic development. The aim of this study is to analyse and assess the experience of syria, a developing country, in the field of industrial development from the data provided by national accounts. This work is composed of two parts. In the first part, the main approach is to analyse the industrial development strategy by studying its movement within the framework of a planned economy. The evolution of industrial policies implemented, their impact on the industrial structure as well as the analysis of the essential factors which car contribute to clarify the industrialization strategy in syria are also studied. The second part focuses on the analysis and assessment of the quantitative and qualitative growth of industry and its impacts on the growth of the national economy. This study also reveds the predominant problems which have slowed the development of industrialization, to overcome these problems, two solutions are proposed the first is short-term and emphasizes the necessity to reform the industrial policies, the maragement methods in the public secteur and the techniques of economic planning and national eccoumtancy. The second solution which is long-term suggests a widening of the industrial make-up to include the industry of intermediary goods

Full textThe principal matter that disposes this thesis is concerning the changes in the chemical firms for “new strategic boundaries”. The main objective is to understand and characterize the heterogeneous chemical companies’ strategies and to classify in distinct groups. The first premise of this thesis is that the accumulative scientific learning or IPR (Intellectual property rights) is not anymore the main barrier to new entrants into the segment; it was replaced by finance supremacy, HESQ (health, environmental, safety and quality) certifications and intangible values (brand, supply chain, network, clusters, customer understanding, marketing, social responsibility, management and skilled labor). Several new players appeared supported by national governments and using licensees or technologies from specialized engineering firms (SEF), raw material suppliers & equipment fabricators to produce locally and replace imported products, furthermore those new players through foreign direct investment( FDI), merger & acquisition (M&A) or joint ventures (JV) expand their operations abroad in direct concurrence with the traditional groups. Second premise is that the latest competitive environment are recreating new strategic firms’ boundaries separated in sub sectors like hybrid science, basic or specialty chemical inducing the main player’s actions in product portfolio , fixed assets, process, R&D , M&A, network, JV, alliances, licenses , knowledge capital and marketing. The thesis concludes that the changes in the chemical sector evolve inside a new framework typify at 4 main axes: value creation, globalization, restructuring and regulation

Full textIn developing countries, especially in africa, firms experience problems in purchasing and daily use of industrial equipments : i. E. Frequent breakdowns, absence of available spare parts in the local market. Few researchers have studied these phenomenons. Mindful that most industrial equipments are imported from developed countries and that importers in developing countries play a major role in the distribution of these products, this research deals with the performance of importers in developing counrties. After an exploratory survey in eight french industrial equipments exporters to developing countries, and the review of literature on distribution channels in this specific context, we widened the classic theoritical scope of channels problems's analysis by adapting : the current extensions of the imp (international marketing and purchasing of industrial goods) interaction model, the agency model and the transaction cost model. This approach makes it possible to design a performance model of importers in a developing country, including the development and the study of some influential variables such as : interaction between an importer and his foreign suppliers, interaction between an importer and his customers, the extent of agency conflicts between an importer and his suppliers, the importer's position-strengthening in upstream and downstream relationships, his adaptability to customers and context specificies, his ability to international supply. An empirical investigation is carry out on a sample of forty three cameroonian industrial equipments's importers. Main results show that all identified factors have a significant influence on importers's performance, to the exception of the downstream interaction variable. Further, some aspects of performance's bases vary significantly from one category of importer to the other. The usefulness and shortcomings of this research are discuss, as well as perspectives of future researchs

Full textThis work is a contribution to the development of an innovative desalination process by solvent extraction. The regeneration of the organic phase is achieved by desextraction of the salt at high temperature. Isotherms of distribution of NaCl, Na2SO4 and MgCl2 at 20 40 60 and 80°C were obtained. A stoichiometry able to account for their shapes was suggested and the associated equilibrium constants were determined. The extraction enthalpies were deduced from the variation of the constants with temperature.Non ideality in the aqueous phase was modeled with the Pitzer equations, simplified with the specific interaction principle. A thermodynamic correction to account for mixed salts effect in the organic phase was adjusted on binary data (NaCl, Na2SO4) at 20 40 and 60°C.Mechanical (viscosity, density) and thermal (specific heat, thermal conductivity) properties of the organic phase were characterised from 20 to 80°C. The interfacial tension was obtained at 20°C with pure water and filtrated natural seawater. The overall solubility of the solvant in water was measured. A prototype of the process with two extraction columns with a packed bed of 4 meters was tested. The HTU obtained were compared with a numerical model based on the classical stagewise backflow model expanded by a thermal balance

Full textThe international sub-contracting is a relatively recent phenomenon. Then, it covers unselted acceptations. The international sub-contracting is equally a multiform and changeable phenomenon. Those characteristics give to understand that the first prescribed task consists on the reconstruction of an analysis fram that be inserted in whole coherency and that reponds to theoretical and useful preoccupations. The fundamental question that we purpose to answer in fact is wether the international sub-contracting can be an industrial development factor. This question is examined at first theoretically and, afterwards, in the morocco's case. The main conclusions of this work can be generalised, to a certain extent, to other less developed countries who promote the international sub-contracting

Morocco and Tunisia have received an important flow of external capital since their independence. Those flows have financed internal and external deficit but not industrial enterprises. The aim of this thesis is to propose the main headlines of an appropriate industrial policy for Lebanon at the time where the country is embarking into a period of massive post-war reconstruction after a prolonged governmental absence from the planning scene. The study is undertaken through an analysis of the classical factors affecting industrial development in the case of the Lebanese capital goods sector. The choice of the latter is made because of its importance in the development economics theory, it’s growing share within the Lebanese economy as well as its ability to interact with the different economic sectors among which construction

Full textVehicle routing problems are very hard combinatorial optimization problems with significant economic and environmental challenges. The fundamental problem is to visit a set of customers with a given fleet of vehicles in order to minimize the total distance travelled. Moreover, these problems arise with a wide variety of objectives and additional constraints, related to the legislation and the diversity of industrial sectors. They are very common for many industries and the design of generic solvers has become an important research issue. This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of a new solver for the vehicle routing services offered by the company GEOCONCEPT. The proposed solver is based on constraint programming (CP) to improve flexibility (ability to take additional constraints into account), declarative modelling and maintenance, which are the limits of current GEOCONCEPT solvers based on local search.Firstly, a graph model is established to provide a common representation of the input-data and the numerous business constraints. The resolution is performed using large neighbourhood search methods available in modern CP solvers. It is thus possible to deal with large instances efficiently with a declarative approach where a broad class of vehicle routing problems can be modelled. Secondly, several CP models based on redundant views of the problem are proposed to strengthen the filtering. We focus on the filtering mechanisms for removing infeasible or suboptimal values in the domains of the variables. These algorithms can quickly simplify the problem and derive lower bounds to assert the quality of the solutions found. The lower bounds are obtained by solving relaxations of the most famous problem in Operations Research: the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). This problem is the core of the global constraint WEIGTEHDCIRCUIT for modelling routing problems in CP. We propose new filtering algorithms for this constraint based on three relaxations of the TSP. These relaxations are compared theoretically and experimentally. The originality of this work is to propose a new filtering algorithm for reasoning on the direct successors of a customer as well as his position in the tour. It is particularly useful in the presence of time window constraints, which are very common in industrial problems. The new solver shows excellent performance on academic and industrial problems and can compute informative lower bounds for real-life problems

Full textThis doctoral work explored the interest of digital microfluidics for the screening of industrial microorganisms. The first part of this thesis presents the development of fluorogenic substrates of glycosidases adapted to perfluorinated emulsions used in digital microfluidics. These substrates were initially chemically synthesized and then validated by enzymatic assays microplate, but also in digital microfluidics model strains. The second part of this thesis illustrates the importance of the aforementioned fluorogenic substrates for screening cellulolytic bacteria from a soil sample (wheat straw). The last part of this thesis describes the development and implementation of microsystems suitable for analysis and microfluidic screening of filamentous fungi. This work opens today the possibility of sorting and selecting microorganisms of interest from samples collected from natural habitats or banks mutants. These tools will accelerate the discovery of new strains or enzymes and their improvement by directed evolution

Full textThe chemical and mechanical polishing is a costly step in the process of microelectronic chips manufacturing. This study aims for recycle the silicate suspension named slurry by membrane processes. Both polishing applications are studied: the silicium and the tungsten polishing. A physical and chemical characterization before and after polishing process shows an important dilution of slurry by deionized water used for wafers rinsing. From CMP machine, a collect segregation of a concentrated effluent is realised by a diverter valve. Ultrafiltration has been chosen to reconcentrate silica but does not permit to recover the chemical compounds of the slurry which are essential to the polishing mainly to the tungsten application. Thus, retreatment process includes a collect segregation at the CMP outlet to decrease the dilution factor of slurry, an ultrafiltration step to concentrate silica and a chemical adjustment step. About tungsten application, the chemical media is more complex and two types of adjustment have been led. Firstly, a mix of POU and retreated slurry has been tested and secondly, an experiment of design with three important compounds of the slurry has been tested. Most CMP parameters are obtained in industrial specifications with the mix of POU and retreated slurry.Concerning the silicium slurry, an industrial prototype is installed and polishing results are similar to the original slurry for a significant wafers number. The industrial agreement is obtained. This prototype allows reaching a 30% decrease of slurry consumption and a 40% decrease of waste waters
