Soil mixing is a versatile ground improvement technique that involves blending soils in-situ with a designed cementitious slurry to create stabilized geometries for foundation, earth retention and groundwater control solutions. As a design-build solution, practitioners can adapt the soil mixing process to the unique project requirements and site-specific geologic conditions, allowing for cost-effective and sustainable alternatives to traditional deep foundations and earth retention systems. While soil mixing requires less material than traditional solutions, resulting in an overall less carbon

Abstract Well potential evaluation is key to reservoir development which can be estimated from petrophysical logs, mobility from wireline formation tester, Diagnostic Fracture Injection Test, or measured directly from drill stem tests, production well tests, or through extended well testing. All these data are having different coverage of the reservoir volume which represent the scale of the data from low scale core and log data to large scale from DFIT or DST. All of the extracted mobility and permeability data are correct in their scale and the objective of this paper is address the data sca

Data-free knowledge distillation (DFKD) conducts knowledge distillation via eliminating the dependence of original training data, and has recently achieved impressive results in accelerating pre-trained language models. At the heart of DFKD is to reconstruct a synthetic dataset by inverting the parameters of the uncompressed model. Prior DFKD approaches, however, have largely relied on hand-crafted priors of the target data distribution for the reconstruction, which can be inevitably biased and often incompetent to capture the intrinsic distributions. To address this problem, we propose a prom

This rapid literature review explains the stages of an election cycle, and how donors provide support to electoral cycles. It draws mainly on policy guidance websites and papers due to the questions of this review and the level of analysis taken (global-level, donor-level). It focuses on publications from the last five years, and/or current/forthcoming donor strategies. The electoral cycle and its stages are well-established policy concepts for which there is widespread acceptance and use. Donor support to electoral cycles (through electoral assistance and electoral observation) is extremely w

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in mass school closures across the world. It is expected that the closures in low- and -middle-income countries (LMICs) will have long-term negative consequences on education and also on broader development outcomes. Countries face a number of obstacles to effectively delivering alternative forms of education. Obstacles include limited experience in facing such challenges, limited teacher digital and pedagogical capacity, and infrastructure constraints related to power and connectivity. Furthermore, inequalities in learning outcomes are expected to widen with

Abstract:
Commercial Agriculture for Smallholders and Agribusiness (CASA) is a flagship programme financed by the UK Department for International Development (DFID), which seeks to increase economic opportunities for smallholders to step and trade into growing commercial markets. The programme aims to increase investments in agribusinesses which source from smallholder farmers and to generate new evidence and research that amplifies the case for doing business with smallholders. During the inception phase, CASA conducted a survey of 25 investors and investing support stakeholders, to determine key const
