Recently, technological innovations have radically changed diabetes care. Insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems have significantly improved diabetes outcomes in both children and adults with Type 1 diabetes. For this reason, the major international associations recommend the use of technology in the management of Type 1 diabetes. The limitations of glycemic self-monitoring have prompted research to develop alternative techniques, favouring the expansion of continuous blood glucose monitoring systems (CGMs). Pregestational and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) can significantly impact maternal health during pregnancy. Pregestational diabetes increases the risk of complications such as preeclampsia, hypertension, and increased cesarean delivery rates. It also heightens the chances of developing diabetic ketoacidosis and worsens diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy. Gestational diabetes, on the other hand, can lead to macrosomia, shoulder dystocia, and an increased likelihood of cesarean delivery. Both types necessitate close monitoring to mitigate risks and optimize maternal and fetal outcomes.

Diabetes mellitus is associated with a spectrum of biochemical microvascular complications that significantly impact various organs and tissues. Chronic hyperglycemia, the hallmark of diabetes, leads to vascular damage through several interconnected pathways, including increased formation of advanced glycation end-products (AGEs), activation of protein kinase C (PKC) isoforms, and oxidative stress. These processes contribute to endothelial dysfunction, impaired vasodilation, and inflammation, which collectively promote microvascular complications such as diabetic nephropathy, retinopathy, and

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of arginine-vasopressin (AVP) on glucagons secretion in both normal and diabetic rats. Diabetes was induced by intraperitoneal administration of alloxan HCI(200 mg/kg). Both glucagon and AVP were determined in the effluent of the perfused pancreas using radioimmunoassay. Diabetic rats had higher baseline glucagons concentrations than normal rats. AVP (1 pmol/L) failed to change glucagons secretion in normal rats, but significantly increased glucagons secretion in diabetic rats. AVP (10-100 pmol/L) increased glucagons secretion from both nor
