The study was carried out on several animal species from the collection of the Bucharest Zoo in the period 2015-2020 and the evolution of parasitic infestations among others was studied. In the first phase, the rate of intestinal endoparasites was monitored in large felines, where the infestation rate was 41.6% in some cases, correlating with progressive weakening and digestive disorders. According to the results, Toxasacaris leonina infestation was prevalent especially in tigers.

All children in two rural Turkish schools were screened by the two methods. Those with lice were offered treatment and the results monitored by detection combing. Children with nits only were re-screened to identify latent infestations. Using visual inspection we found 214/461 children (46%) with nits but only 30 (6·5%) with live lice. In contrast detection combing found 96 (21%) with live lice, of whom 20 had no nits. Detection combing was 3·84 times more effective th

ABSTRACT Scabies is one of the most common skin infestations and the diagnosis is mostly based on clinical presentation and suggestive history. A confirmatory diagnosis is highly desirable as the treatment requires strict compliance from the patient as well as close contacts. Existing diagnostic methods are time consuming and not very sensitive. This article describes the use of dermoscopy to facilitate the in-vivo diagnosis of this infestation. This immune response is crucial for eradication of the bacterial infestation but can inadvertently inflict collateral damage to the male reproductive tract. Infestation with parasites is incredibly widespread on a worldwide scale. Nematodes, cestodes, and trematodes are three types of helminths (parasitic worms) that can infect the liver and hepatobiliary systems. The host immunological response to the larvae or adult worms is the main source of morbidity and mortality from these infections. Asymptomatic carriage to cirrhosis and decompensated liver disease are the two extremes of parasitic disease presentations.
