The incidence of reported gonorrhoea cases in Sweden raised by 32%, from 5.9 to 7.8 cases per 100,000 in 2001 to 2008.The aim of this study is to estimate the lag time or time elapsed between onset of symptoms and diagnosis of gonorrhoea, and to identify the factors associated with diagnostic delay in a sample of reported gonorrhoea cases in Sweden. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using all reported gonorrhoea cases at the Swedish Institute for Communicable Disease Control (SMI) from the

Background/Objectives: Accurate surveillance of recent HIV infections is crucial for effective epidemic control and timely intervention. The Limited Antigen Avidity Enzyme Immunoassay (LAg-EIA) allows precise differentiation between recent and long-term HIV infections. To enhance accessibility, it has been developted into a point-of-care test, the Asanté™ HIV-1 Rapid Recency® Assay (ARRA), a rapid immunoassay. This study evaluated the performance and false recent rates (FRRs) of the ARRA, interpreted both visually and via a strip reader, in comparison with the LAg-EIA. Methods: Plasma samples

Traumatic injuries to the knee are frequently complicated by extension contractures. The Judet Quadricepsplasty allows for controlled, sequential release of extrinsic and intrinsic knee contracture components while reducing the potential for iatrogenic quadriceps rupture. We document our institutions experience with this procedure and a systematic review of the current literature. We followed up on an elderly patient with posttraumatic flexion contracture that failed conservative management and underwent Judet Quadricepsplasty. This study examined the vertical transmission of wheat price among the main value chain, looking at the pricing behaviour of certain role players in the wheat production/supply and the distribution of bread, which is a major staple food consumed in South Africa. A nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) model was used to analyse the yearly time series data for the period of 2000 to 2022. The results of the stationarity test showed that all variables were of order one, I (1). This paper evaluated the deterministic ability of some macroeconomic variables on the Nigeria’s price level (PL) using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Review of relevant literature was thoroughly carried out. The specification of the price deterministic model was consistent with the traditional backward-looking Philips curve, quantity theory of money and the Fiscal theory of the price level. The Johansen cointegration test results provided evidence of a long run relationship among the chosen variables. The VECM results showed that the 2nd lag of PL negatively and significantly affect
