Abstract:
This chapter discusses the acceptance of professional competence that allows for compassion toward oneself as well as toward other professionals. This chapter addresses how to recognize distress in others, offer support and assistance to those in distress, validate the setting of appropriate boundaries—for one’s self and for others—and reduce the conflict that arises between work and family life. This chapter promotes dialogue between providers by challenging the stigma that providers should be wary of sharing their emotional concerns and by supporting an open dialogue between colleagues as well as advocating for the request for help and support. A primary focus is on open communication and teamwork, and readers are supported to create a viable plan that supports clarity in cancer navigation.

Abstract:
This chapter explores Article 15 of the ATT, which establishes rules for international co-operation among states parties to promote effective implementation of the ATT. The rationale for this and the following provision (on assistance) is to build confidence among states parties for implementation of the ATT, recognizing that this demands action and support at international level. The article requires state parties to afford each other ‘the widest measure’ of assistance in investigating and prosecuting violations of national measures that implement the ATT. It also covers the transfer of conventional arms as opposed to their use, including through brokers that violate national laws. Ultimately, the article institutes an environment conducive to co-operation which needs to be built progressively among states parties through dialogue and transparency, including reporting in accordance with Article 13 of the ATT.

Eaton, Peter. Relations between the Churches of the Anglican Communion and the Churches of Eastern Christianity. Oxford University Press, 2017. http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/oso/9780199643011.003.0014.

Abstract:
In this chapter the author discusses the Anglican Communion and the Churches of the Christian East which have had a long and significant relationship both at an official level of international dialogue and at a more local level between clergy, laity, and congregations. This series of relationships has resulted in both practical assistance as well as deep theological and spiritual influence. The twentieth century saw a remarkable rapprochement between Anglicanism and Orthodoxy that left both communions changed, and this chapter outlines these general trends and focuses on two important episodes that show the depth that these relations attained. In spite of more recent developments and distance, the picture that emerges here supports the view that relations between Anglicanism and Byzantine and Oriental Orthodox communities have been formative for the respective traditions.

Abstract:
The world of international cooperation is in transition. Global power shifts and the rise of populism have made the world multipolar, but not necessarily more multilateral. The traditional North–South aid system is being called into question, while transnational challenges are affecting all countries and require stronger global partnerships. In this context, the graduation of countries from Official Development Assistance (ODA) stands out as a focal topic in connecting current debates. Facilitated by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), this publication sees experts from various sectors and regions share and exchange their views in open dialogues and spotlight texts. They embed ODA graduation in its broader global context, discuss its implications and call for a new partnership based on global goals and knowledge sharing. This collection of thoughts and perspectives will thus hopefully serve as a milestone in the debate on transforming international cooperation.

Abstract:
The volume “Violence against women: interdisciplinary dialogues” brings together academic texts, by scholars who are interested in the theme, and professionals to publicize the work they develop at Casa da Mulher Brasileira, located in the capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. violence against women is a social phenomenon that covers all cultures and social classes, considered a matter of human rights and public health. In Brazil, the struggle for women's rights began with the struggles of feminist movements, which resulted in the creation of the first Specialized Police Station for Assistance to Women. Years later Law No. 11,340 (Maria da Penha Law) was created, assuring all Brazilian women to enjoy their fundamental rights to the human person and attributing to the public authorities the guarantee of these rights. Violence in the border region needs to be seen as a complex phenomenon crossed by legislation, historical, geographical, political and cultural aspects. Dealing specifically with violence against women, Latin American women who live in a Brazilian border region, in addition to structural machismo, experience the socioeconomic vulnerability marked by drug trafficking, facilitated acquisition of firearms and the late legislative recognition of the crime of femicide, which contribute to the perpetuation of the practice of intentional lethal crimes against these women.
