Abstract:
The increase in population, urban development and road construction are the demands of many communities in obtaining public street lighting for road users by providing better services. Public street lighting has become a necessity for many people, which is very important for two-wheeled, four-wheeled, and many-wheeled drivers for safety and comfort in traffic, especially at night. Therefore, the authors conducted a new research design by arranging public street lighting in the area of the Depok Cilodong highway, with the aim of providing the beauty of the road environment by the model of the arrangement and installation of poles, pole height and PJU lamp models to the road body. Its uniqueness is seen from the perspective of the side of social and environmental impacts that are generally not seen by the local government and the level of evenness of road lighting on road materials is still lacking, so that the impact on the road user community is better and more modern. The method used with the Dialux EVO 8.2 Program for short road lengths can choose street lights taken from the IES Lighting data on the 10W Eco Led, 10 VAC Milky Way, which is installed with a height of 8 meters with a distance between poles 15 meters with a large amount of procurement allows for high costs. For the long distance of the road, you can use the 20W Led Bimasakti Eco street light, 10 VAC, which is installed with a height of 8 meters and 20 meters between the poles. So by analyzing the selection criteria, it is capable of producing street lighting with lighting levels in accordance with SNI 7391-2008 and considering the quantity of material procurement as well as the tipping point which has an impact on financing for installation services.

Abstract:
Rate of electricity consumption is increasing due to the increasing demand every year, while the supply of natural resources is significantly reduced. This is a factor why electricity tariffs are increased and it would affect the improvement of living standards. The lighting system is one of the important elements of the building design. Effective and efficient strategy of lighting, includes natural daylighting, appropriate level of illumination, and low energy consumption. A significant cost saving can be achieved if the designers know how to design a lighting system effectively and efficiently. Therefore, the appropriate design of lighting system which meet the standard was proposed in this project. The objective of this research is to perform energy analysis of lighting system design for lecture room. The lecture room at UTM SPACE building in Kuala Lumpur was taken as a case study. Type of lighting used, existing room design, and lighting technology in the market are identified prior to the beginning of the present study. After that, the system design is implemented using the manual calculation based on lumen method and the simulation is done using DIAlux Evo 3 and AutoCAD. Two type of lighting products are compared in terms of energy consumption and cost: the compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) and the light emitting diode (LED). Then, comparison of results was performed to obtain the best lighting system. The results revealed that LED provides energy cost savings of 30% to 50% annually compared to CFL. The prediction from DIAlux Evo 3 simulation is more accurate compared to the manual calculation.

Abstract:

The objective function of standard Dial-a-Ride Problem (DARP) is to minimize total travel cost. However, most of DARP applications are designed for disabled and elderly people to provide more convenient and friendly services. The main difference between DARP and other vehicle routing problems is due to the human perspective which should be accounted for. Thus, the profit or operational cost should not be the only consideration. In addition to travel cost, the objective functions considered in this study include service quality and eco-efficiency. In order to make three conflicting objectives interacting with each other, the speed level constraints were added to the model. We defined a set of speed levels, and these constraints ensure that only one speed is selected for each arc. From the perspective of travel cost, there are more feasible path sets by selecting different speed levels. From the perspective of service quality, the model can reduce more waiting time by increasing the speed on the arcs with a tight time window. From the perspective of eco-efficiency, the model can reduce fuel consumption by reducing speed. The proposed model are constructed, and solved by the software Gurobi Optimizer. Four instances based on real geographic network are generated to evaluate the effectiveness of the model. We present results on the overall performance of the multi-objective model and the Pareto fronts with WMN and ECM. The results indicate that the multi-objective model can avoid these disadvantages of single objective model, and improve the total performance.

Abstract:
Saving Abstraction takes up the conflicted history of Morton Feldman’s most important collaboration—his work with Dominique and John de Menil on music for the Rothko Chapel in Houston. These collaborators struggled over fundamental questions about the emotional efficacy of artistic practice and its potential translation into religious feeling. At the center of this study is the question of ecumenism—that is, in what terms can religious encounters be staged for fruitful dialog to take place? And how might abstraction (both visual and musical) be useful to achieving it? This was a dilemma for Feldman, whose music sought to produce sublime “abstract experience,” as well as for the de Menils, who envisioned the Rothko Chapel as a space for spiritual intervention into late modernity. Saving Abstraction develops two central concepts: “abstract ecumenism” and “agonistic universalism.” The former characterizes a broad spiritual orientation within postwar musical modernism and experimentalism that aspired to altered states of ego-loss. This emerged as a renewed religious sensibility in late modernist experimentalism. The latter concept describes the particular religious form that Feldman’s music achieves within Rothko Chapel—an ascetic mode of existence that endures hopefully the aporia of postwar modernization’s destructiveness and modernism’s failure to effectively counter it.

Abstract:
The present research explores non-verbal behavior that accompanies the management of turns in naturally occurring conversations. To analyze turn management, we implemented the ISO 24617-2 multidimensional dialog act annotation scheme. The classification of the communicative intent of non-verbal behavior was performed with the annotation scheme for spontaneous authentic communication called the EVA annotation scheme. Both dialog acts and non-verbal communicative intent were observed according to their underlying nature and information exchange channel. Both concepts were divided into foreground and background expressions. We hypothesize that turn management dialog acts, being a background expression, co-occur with communication regulators, a class of non-verbal communicative intent, which are also of background nature. Our case analysis confirms this hypothesis. Furthermore, it reveals that another group of non-verbal communicative intent, the deictics, also often accompany turn management dialog acts. As deictics can be both foreground and background expressions, the premise that background non-verbal communicative intent is interlinked with background dialog acts is upheld. And when deictics were perceived as part of the foreground they co-occurred with foreground dialog acts. Therefore, dialog acts and non-verbal communicative intent share the same underlying nature, which implies a duality of the two concepts.

Abstract:
Radical reforms tend to occur in polycentric ways, in multiple arenas at the same time. They also occur in polymorphous ways. In large political arenas, the shock of a focusing event almost immediately mobilizes citizens and leaders, so coalitions assemble without prolonged dialog. In smaller political arenas, labor-intensive persuasion by word of mouth has built the support necessary to enact the reforms. Although the link between radical reforms and eco-authoritarian politics seems plausible, the reforms examined here did not generate eco-authoritarian regimes. The reforms did encourage a corporativist style of governance in which local reform efforts worked in conjunction with reform efforts in larger political arenas. These experiences suggest that corporatism may provide particular advantages as a political strategy for confronting the challenges of climate change.

Abstract:
Chapter 6 analyzes Qandisha, A Collaborative Feminine Magazwine, a webzine founded by Moroccan journalist and blogger Fedwa Misk in 2011 and Naïma Zitan’s Dialy (2012), a play in colloquial Moroccan-Arabic (Darija), as exemplars of how women’s activism and cultural production reinvigorated and gendered contemporary discourses of contestation. Dialy, originally conceived as an adaptation of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues (1996), uses testimonies collected during encounters and workshops involving a hundred and fifty Moroccan women of different ages and from different socioeconomic backgrounds to inscribe in the public sphere major transitions in a woman’s life such as menstruation, sexual relations, marriage, pregnancy, and childbearing. Qandisha has attracted a significant number of writers, readers, and commentators who post their texts in French, Arabic, Darija, and English from all over Morocco as well as from Algeria, France, and Tunisia about sexuality, rape, sexual orientation, and individual freedom. Anonymity, easy access, the dissolution of boundaries (between locales, languages, readers, and writers) have all provided women with endless possibilities for self and collective representation. This chapter analyzes the content and the reception of Dialy and Qandisha to illustrate contemporary divisions around women’s rights and sexuality in the Moroccan context, as well as the uneasy cohabitation between the Moroccan society’s diverse make-up and transnational feminist discourses and global technologies.

Abstract:
In this paper the authors’ aim is to reflect on the impact the Sars-CoV-2 Pandemic has had and is still having on our external and internal reality, in terms of individual and collective implications. In an open dialog with colleagues and patients, through a psychoanalytic viewpoint capable of respecting the suffering and the solutions identified by the Ego-subject within the “therapeutic dance”, it was possible during this period to observe movements and processes underlying these changes. Throughout the paper, the authors highlight both difficulties and resources that the patients put in play within the relational space and the need to “reconfigure” them; our focus is on the creativity and the repercussions this event, significant for the majority of the Society, has had on the practices and beliefs of each of us. The peculiar experience of loneliness and isolation, faced during this pandemic emergency, has profoundly transformed and shaped our living space, demanding a collective reorganization of the social space and thus forcing us to rethink our humanity. In the relational exchange, the possibility of finding one’s own space to exist and to inhabit one’s present, can be unfolded. A shared resilience is necessary to face current challenges.

Abstract:
There are two basic categories of Internet lies: frauds, where the object is to get your money, and hoaxes, where the primary object is just to pull your chain, but there can be far-reaching consequences as well. Hoaxes give the perpetrators ego gratification as they watch their creation spread throughout the Internet. Frauds may give the perpetrators your life savings, and give you months—maybe years—of hassle as you try to repair your credit record and retrieve your very identity. Hoaxes—Hoaxes are spread by e-mail and come in an endless variety of guises. There are, for example, fake virus warnings, chain letters promising riches if you follow their instructions (or threatening dire consequences if you don’t); urban myths about women in peril, dogs in microwaves, and hypodermic needles on theater seats; letters that tug at your heart strings or appeal to your greedy side; Internet petitions (often based on false information); and letters claiming that Bill Gates wants to give you money. Yeah, right. Even the most “innocent” hoaxes are harmful. At the very least, they take up your time, and they try to get you to forward them to other people as well. If you forward a letter to just 40 people, and each of them does the same, and so on, then after just four steps, more than two and a half million copies will have been sent out. That’s a lot of wasted time and wasted bandwidth. These letters can also contain dangerous misinformation and bad advice. One example is a common letter advising women not to stop when pulled over by the highway patrol, but instead to dial #77 on their cell phones to talk to the police—a wrong number in 48 of the 50 states! Perhaps the most common example is the virus hoax—typically a letter forwarded by someone you know warning you that if you find a certain file on your computer it means you are infected with a virus.
