Abstract:
A diverse assemblage of mosses from the Early Cretaceous Catefica mesofossil flora, Portugal, is described based on fragments of charcoalified and lignitized gametophytes and a single spore capsule. Nine different gametophyte morphologies are recognized and assigned to Sphagnopsida, Polytrichopsida and Bryopsida. None of the fossils can be included in any extant species. Four species have character combinations not known in any extant genera and are accommodated in three new genera as Chlorosphagnum cateficense gen. et sp. nov. (Sphagnales, family incertae sedis), Physcidium tortuosum gen. et

Abstract:
A taxonomic study of the family Rhachitheciaceae in Thailand is presented based on newly collected materials from field surveys and herbarium specimens. Two species are recognized, including Hypnodontopsis spathulata and Rhachithecium perpusillum. Hypnodontopsis spathulata, previously known only from the type locality, is reported here as a new genus and species record for Thailand. A key to species, taxonomic descriptions and illustrations are provided. In addition, the lectotype of Zygodon perpusillus (=Rhachithecium perpusillum) is also designated here.

Abstract:
Dicranum Hedw. is a highly diverse and widely distributed genus within Dicranaceae, with over 95 species currently accepted. However, the species diversity and distribution of this genus in the Nepal Himalayas are still poorly understood. During our recent reexamination of older herbarium materials, we encountered intriguing specimens from Nepal annotated as “Dicranodontium nepalense”—a nomenclaturally invalid name due to the lack of a diagnosis and description when published. Here, we describe it as a new species, Dicranum nepalense W.Z.Huang, T.X.Zheng & Y.Huan Wu. This species is charac

Abstract:
Research on biodiversity of bryophyta around Syamsudin Noor International airport has never been reported. The study purposed the types of mosses around the Syamsudin Noor International Airport. A purposive sampling method was used to collect bryophyta and then environmental parameters were directly measured in the field. Moss identification referred to the book A Handbook of Malesian Mosses volume 1 Sphagnales to Dicranales and volume 2 Leucobryaceae to Buxbaumiaceae. Morphological characteristics of mosses were observed at leaf parts, stem, and rhizoids. The results showed 7 species of mosse
