Abstract:
This master's dissertation deals with the elaboration of a didactic adaptation of the novel ​Tschick ​by Wolfgang Herrndorf and its film adaptation. The goal of this master's dissertation is to create a complete educational project that is used in a real school curriculum. In the theoretical part, the basic principles for creating such a project are expounded: The terms literature and film in teaching German are explained. Moreover, there are reasons listed why literature and films ought to be a firm part of second language teaching. The literary work ​Tschick ​by Wolfgang Herrndorf is dealt with in the perspective of literary studies. Furthermore, the theoretical and methodological principles are introduced in the purpose of creating such a project. This is implemented in the practical part of this master's dissertation using the novel ​Tschick ​by Wolfgang Herrndorf and its film adaptation as a foundation of this project. Thus, the lesson materials and plans are created that are used at a real school, ​Gymnázium, Praha 6, Arabská 14​, where a group of 17 students, who are at level A2, is chosen for this project. Thesis covering topic of Linking social novel and fantasy on an example of Kirsten Boie. Didactic adaptation of the novel "Alhambra" deals with the use of literature in foreign language teaching. The theoretical part discusses its overall contribution to the development of key skills of mastering a foreign language for a student, on the conditions and rules for its use in class. Literature used in class may represent a new source of information about the target language and society that uses it, so it can be used also for multicultural education and with cross-subject projects. The second part deals with the personality of Kirsten Boie and her art, especially the novel "Alhambra" and its theoretical and practical specifics, including a possible contribution to the lesson. In this part an alternative educational material was created, which alone represents a new impetus and a change in the method of teaching for pupils and teachers. Theme and stylistic style of social novel "Alhambra" with historical and fantasy elements doesn't resemble a classic-sounding articles in textbooks, it is thematically attractive for students and arouses curiosity and motivation to read it. TITLE: Picture of illness and death in contemporary German literature for children and youth (The analysis and didactic adaptation in the context of selected works of world literature) SUMMARY:Presented thesis deals with literary reflections on illness and death in contemporary German literature for children and youth. The theoretical part explains the basic concepts such as illness, death, child and developmental stages of childhood, literature and literature for children and youth. These themes are then further processed. In more detail is the work devoted to analyzing literary works with that theme. The works are examined in terms of literary aesthetic and thematic components, composition and language components. In the practical part, the work focuses on the students perception of researched topic and work with specific literary texts. The final section compares the aspects of reception on illness and death of students of Czech and Austrian schools at the age of 14 to 19 years based on questionnaires filled in by those students which were used as the main research material. Abstract:
The topic of this work is reading workshops as a means of learning German as a foreign language. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether, and if so, what is the organizational and methodically inventive form of didactic potential in teaching German as a foreign language. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. It focuses on the literary text and its role in teaching, as well as the representation of literature in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and in the Supplement to the CEFR. Attention is paid to reading skills with an emphasis on literary reading, which is crucial for working with literary texts. The concept of reading workshops represents a bridge between the theoretical and practical part and brings four different adaptations of literary texts targeting literary, communicative, intercultural, and linguistic competence. The empirical survey contained in the fourth chapter presents the results of a questionnaire survey, which was conducted among German language teachers at the elementary faculty schools of PedF UK. The research was based on the confirmed hypothesis that teachers rarely work with literary texts, even though they consider working with literary texts to be beneficial. Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of using graphic novel in German language teaching (teaching German as a foreign language). The main premise of this thesis is that graphic novel, as a multimodal medium and a phenomenon of current literature, has a wide potential for the German (and other foreign languages) classroom. The goal of the thesis is to design a didactic material respecting the specific qualities of graphic novel and drawing upon its potential. The first chapter serves as an introduction, exploring graphic novel as a medium, as a phenomenon of current literature and as a pedagogical tool. The term is defined and put into context. In the second chapter, the method of a review study is employed to explore how graphic novel is used in the foreign language classroom. The systematic review has shown that it is possible to use graphic novel as a tool for achieving the objectives of foreign language teaching and learning - the language aims (through vocabulary acquistition, reading skills development and creative writing) as well as the cognitive and formative aims (through the development of literacies, cultural and historical awareness, intercultural competence and citizienship). Abstract:
This thesis deals with the use of comic adaptations in literary lessons at primary and secondary schools. The aim of this work is to map available comic adaptations of literary works written by Czech authors. The comic adaptations of Franz Kafka's novella The Metamorphosis will be evaluated based on pre-selected criteria. Part of the work will also be a comparison of the original text with the selected comic adaptation and noting the changes in the fictional world created by transferring it to the comic medium. The work will help teachers to understand the theory of comics. Theoretical knowledge will be applied in the creation of two teaching blocks built for the purposes of literary education at primary and secondary schools. The concrete implementation of both teaching blocks in practice will be compared.

The thesis deals with possible applications of literary texts in teaching of czech as a foreign language. The first part summarizes the position of literature within the framework of respective methodical directions both in the past and today and also what status is attributed to literature in teaching of foreign languages by contemporary education legislation (especially the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). The work also includes an analysis of czech language textbooks for foreigners and of other publications based on the inclusion frequency of literary excerpts, on their type and potential didactic utilization. The theoretical part of the thesis contains chapters, which deal with the significance of literature in the teaching of foreign languages, in particular with literary texts and the definition of reader's competence, which are an important basis for the practical part of the work. The practical part contains four lesson proposals built upon working with specific literary texts (one prosaic and three poetic texts). Abstract:
This thesis deals with the creation of larp-based educational games intended for the secondary school literary education. The aim was to introduce larp as a possible teaching method, anchored in the existing theoretical framework and the extension of its recognition. The theoretical part defines the position of literary education and educational games, explains the key term larp and describes the process of its creation. The focus of the thesis' practical part are five educational games ranging from 1 to 2 lessons and based in Czech literary works, are presented. The games are designed to encourage pupils to reading and for development of their reading literacy. The practical outcome of this thesis is a set of materials (methodological instructions for teachers and materials for pupils) necessary for the realization of these games in teaching of literature, which are contained in the annexes. In the end of the thesis, there are comments on individual games, which bring the characteristics of the game, outline the possibilities of its use in teaching and reflect on the process of creation and testing.

Abstract:
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the usage of comic processing in the lessons of literary education at the second grade of the elementary school. The theoretical part defines the basic expressions concerning the area of literary education, the theory of comic, the theory of adaptation, and effective teaching. The set of four educational scripts employing comic processing of classical works of Czech and world literature, highlighting the up-to-date conception of the literary education in accord with demands on the education which is set down by Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education, was created within the practical part. The main aim of scripts was to support the progress in reader´s literacy and the communicative skills. These educational scripts are not only intended for university students, primarily within the didactics of the Czech language and literature, and beginning teachers, but also for experienced pedagogues. The quality of the scripts was proved in practise.
