A total of 670 critical thermal maxima (CTMax) and minima (CTMin) were determined for three freshwater fishes acclimated to three constant temperatures and a diel regimen cycling between the lowest and highest acclimation temperatures. In all species temperature tolerance was directly related to acclimation temperature and slopes relating these variables indicate that acclimation temperature has a greater influence on tolerance of low rather than high temperatures. <p>Kilocalorie, protein, fat and carbohydrate intakes of five women were examined during the period of at least one menstrual cycle. Kilocalorie intake was significantly lower in the periovulatory phase of the cycle compared to the midluteal phase (t=2.10, p <.05). Carbohydrate and fat intakes were higher, although not significantly, during the midluteal phase compared to the periovulatory phase. Abstract:

This thesis comprises a detailed motivic analysis of Schubert’s song cycle Winterreise. It consists of eight chapters. The introduction explains the rationale underlying the thesis; although numerous songs from Winterreise have been previously analysed in detail and found to have considerable motivic coherence, no clear tonal or motivic plan to the cycle as a whole has yet been identified. In contrast, numerous authorities have identified a high level of motivic coherence and unity in many of Schubert’s other major songs and instrumental works. Nous avons réalisé la synthèse de thiazoles, sélénazoles, thiéno[2,3-d]thiazoles et thiéno[2,3-d][1,3]sélénazoles, ce dernier étant préparé facilement à partir de cyanamide et de sulfure de carbone. Nous avons de cette manière pu synthétiser des 4-amino-1,3-thiazoles et 1,3-sélénazoles substitués en position 2 et 5 en deux étapes. Appliqué ces hétérocycles, les 4-halogéno-1,3-thiazoles et 1,3-sélénazoles ont été synthétisés par la méthode de Doyle.
