Abstract:

In Tongeren centrum werd bij een opgraving een graf van een grote hond gevonden uit de Romeinse periode. Ter hoogte van de mond lag een vaatwerkje als grafgift: een rond terra sigillata-schaaltje. Dit was of moest doorgaan voor het etensbakje van het dier. Door het afbreken van de randen wordt symbolisch aangegeven dat het bakje na de dood niet meer kon worden gebruikt. De symboliek van de etensbak met afgebroken randen kan ook geplaatst worden in een Keltische traditie waarbij mythische honden dagelijks stukjes van de volle maan afbeten en zo de maancyclus creëerden. Een drie maanden oude, vrouwelijke, intacte labrador-retriever werd doorverwezen wegens een vermoedelijk congenitaal hartprobleem. Klinische symptomen waren niet aanwezig, maar op het lichamelijk onderzoek werd een luide, continue hartruis met fremitus opgemerkt (graad 5 op 6) ter hoogte van de linkerhartbasis. Door middel van echocardiografie werd de diagnose van persisterende ductus arteriosus (PDA) en pulmonalisstenose (PS) gesteld. Tumbuhan Shorea teysmaniana Dier adalah tumbuhan khas Provinsi Riau yang sudah langka dan dikenal dengan nama Meranti Lilin. Kulit batang tumbuhan ini diekstrak dengan metoda maserasi, sehingga didapatka ekstrak heksan 40,69 g, ekstrak etilasetat 133,22 g, dan ekstrak methanol 386,29 g. Masing-masing ekstrak dilakukan uji antibakteri dengan metoda difusi dan uji anti oksidan dengan metoda DPPH. Een konijn is erg gevoelig voor anorexie en ileus. Dit zijn dan ook veel voorkomende ziektetekenen waarmee het dier bij de dierenarts wordt aangeboden. Anorexie en ileus zijn nauw met elkaar verbonden. Anorexie veroorzaakt ileus en ileus veroorzaakt anorexie. Een konijn met deze problemen moet behandeld worden als een spoedgeval. Anorexie leidt bij konijnen, door hun specifiek metabolisme, snel tot hepatische lipidose. Ook enterotoxemie ten gevolge van dysbacteriose kan voorkomen bij anorexie. Schurft veroorzaakt door Psoroptes ovis komt voor op de meeste Vlaamse bedrijven met Belgisch witblauw vleesvee. In deze studie werden twee intensieve behandelingsschema’s geëvalueerd op negen Vlaamse vleesveebedrijven met een persisterend schurftprobleem.
