This paper presented an economic order level inventory model with exponential decreasing demand for deteriorating items. The shortage of items has been considered and optimized. A mathematical inventory model is suggested in the content for a business cycle which starts with shortage and able to place the order according to the demand and customer’s response. This model is applicable in various industries and may significantly increase their productivity and efficiency; this illustrates the effectiveness of model.

We have developed an order level inventory system for deteriorating items with demand rate as a ramp type function of time. The finite production rate is proportional to the demand rate and the deterioration rate is independent of time. The unit production cost is inversely proportional to the demand rate. The model with no shortages case is discussed considering that: (a) the demand rate is stabilized after the production stopping time and (b) the demand is stabilized before the production stopping time. Optimal costs are determined for two different cases.

Nevertheless, when we disaggregate the main components of aggregate demand for different clusters of developed and developing countries using the Stock Flow Consistent approach (SFC), we find that in general, an undervalued currency has expansionary and contractionary effects

Demand deposits are associated with two sources of uncertainties which make it difficult to assess its risks using standardized models: they lack a predetermined maturity and the deposit rate may be changed at the bank’s discretion. Abstract:
This working paper addresses the issues: 1) whether there is a simultaneous equations problem when estimating demand for water with multipart rate schedules and, if there is one, what techniques should be used to correct for it; and 2) whether average or marginal price is the relevant measure in estimating the demand function. In addition, the issue is raised of sample selection bias in a rate schedule, combined with a fixed charge for consumption below the level where a block rate tariff per unit consumed. This study uses results from a sample of 685 families from 34 localities in rural Argen

Abstract:
We estimate a multi-country, multi-sector New Keynesian model to quantify the drivers of domestic inflation during 2020–23 in several countries, including the United States. The model matches observed inflation together with sector-level prices and wages. We further measure the relative importance of different types of shocks on inflation across countries over time. The key mechanism, the international transmission of demand, supply and energy shocks through global linkages helps us to match the behavior of the USD/EUR exchange rate. The quantification exercise yields four key findings. First,

Abstract:
The short-term Federal funds rate, which impacts the interest rate of other loans, has been increasing since March 2022. The rate can disproportionately affect demand for different types of loans, as well as the choice of the lender for different farm sizes. This report examines farm debt by lenders, as well as other attributes, such as the use of different loan types (real estate and non-real estate) among different types of farm businesses. Abstract:
We examine the adjustment of a small, open, emerging market economy (SOEME) to an unexpected increase in the minimum wage using an extended New-Keynesian SOE model that incorporates heterogeneous households, a flexible production structure, and a minimum wage rule. We calibrate the model for Colombia and find that an unexpected increase in the minimum wage has significant effects on the low-skilled labor market, and weaker impacts on inflation and the policy interest rate. The rise in the minimum wage increases production costs and prompts the substitution of formal low-skilled labor with info

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: How effective is acupuncture in treating melasma compared to conventional treatment? Condition being studied: Melasma is a common acquired hyperpigmentation of the skin. The clinical manifestations are light brown or dark brown patches symmetrically distributed on the cheeks, forehead and mandibular with different shades and unclear borders. Melasma particularly affects women during menstruation, especially in thirties and forties Asian women. The incidence of Asian women of childbearing age is as high as 30%. Current treatments for melasma include topical drugs, c

Abstract:
Public urban transportation systems are essential for mitigating climate change, leading policymakers to intensify efforts to boost ridership. However, there is not much evidence showing up to what extent, in regions with high crime rates like Latin America, safety perception could limit these efforts. This paper studies the impact of crime and crime perception on public transport demand across six Latin American capitals. Using a sample of 5,160 participants, we conduct three preregistered experiments to quantify the impact of crime on public transport choices and policy preferences. In the f

Institute for New Economic ThinkingInstitute for New Economic Thinking Working Paper Series, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.36687/inetwp158.

Full text
Abstract:
This paper extends to different indicators of labor underutilization the Updated Okun Method (UOM) for estimation of potential output proposed in Fontanari et al (2020), which, from a demand-led growth perspective, regards potential output as an empirical approximation to full-employment output, as in A.M.Okun’s (1962) original method. Based on the apparent incapability of the official rate of unemployment to fully account for labor underutilization, in this paper we offer estimates of Okun’s law both with broad unemployment indicators and with an indicator of ‘standardized hours worked’ which

Abstract:
Job training programs for firm managers or entrepreneurs are effective at increasing firm productivity, profits, and firm survival rates. Training skills in human resources, soft skills, marketing, and finance-accounting are most likely to improve firm performance. The impact was maximized when delivering training sessions for entrepreneurs and managers in the manufacturing and services sector. The key is to design training programs tailored to different participant groups, based on the demand in their respective industry and business contexts.

Abstract:
Remittances constitute a significant safety net for millions of households in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Consequently, changes in international transfers can be a crucial agent of transmission of the COVID-19 induced economic crisis from richer to poorer nations and from urban to rural areas. Relying on data on queries to the search engine Google between December 2018 and July 2021, this study looks at the evolution of demand for in-person versus digital international transfer services and evaluates if take-up rates of different types of service providers trace the initial drop and
