The recent advent of Next-generation sequencing technologies has revolutionized the way of analyzing the genome. Bovine mastitis is a major problem in dairy cattle. Economic losses are mostly associated with decreased production and milk quality, as a consequence of subclinical infections. Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most widely distributed causative agents of subclinical mastitis. For its contagious nature, identification of infected animals is a crucial point in control programs, so that the spread of the infection can be avoided. Currently, the diagnosis of bovine mastitis is mostly based on cyto-bacteriological analysis of milk samples. In the present study differential cell counts were eval

Even though the method does not require any expensive instruments it comes at a high cost due to it being labor intensive and time consuming.
