We have extended the matrix representation of the dynamical theory of x-ray diffraction to include Bragg planes that are oblique with respect to the surface of a flat crystal wafer. In place of the two independent 2×2 matrices of the Abelés method for planes parallel to the surface, we use a single 8 × 8 matrix. With such a matrix, rays may be skew with respect to the oblique Bragg planes and the wafer surface. The new approach brings out the close analogy between the diffraction of visible light by blazed gratings and the diffraction of x rays by edges of oblique Bragg planes near the crystal

Abstract:
This paper investigates the potential of graphene-coated sand as an advanced filtration medium for improving water quality and mitigating chemicals of emerging concern in treated municipal wastewater, aiming to enhance water reuse. The study utilizes three types of sand coated with graphene to assess the impact of surface morphology, particle shape, and chemical composition on coating and filtration efficiency. Additionally, sand coated with graphene and activated graphene coated sand were both tested to understand the effect of coating and activation on the filtration process. The materials w

Bacterial cellulose (BC) was investigated as a novel material for preparing activated carbons. BC was dried by heating and it was carbonized with a chemical activation process using phosphoric acid (H₃PO₄) as an activating agent at different temperatures (400, 500 and 600 °C). The properties of the activated carbons were characterized such as chemical property, structure, pore size, thermal property by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), N₂ -physisorption (BET), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) , thermal gravimetric (TGA). The obtained BC activated carbo
